It was such a time. Even we Londoners, arrogant as we were, wanted to go to Liverpool, to sound Scouse. I remember standing outside the Cavern in 1964 and thinking, 'This is it'.
Cilla had such a unique voice. She had two voices, a gentle sweet one and a powerful one that could blow you away. Her performance on Alfie demonstrates that perfectly.
Yo naci en el 51 en Buenos Aires. Argentina. Fan de The Beatles y considero a Cilla una de las mas grandes cantantes britanicas y del mundo , de todos los tiempos Me emocionol siempre alverla y oirla Estara junto a Dios , con John y George ❤❤❤❤❤
This is improvised perfection! She was surprised when he started adding his vocal addition, but they played off of each other so beautifully! Cilla and Dudley, I love you both...RIP and thanks for this great memory!!!
@@fabrisseterbrugghe8567I didn’t know that . I saw John & Cleo in Melbourne, Australia at a small venue in 1976 . What a fantastic concert that was. Cleo could basically sing anything .
Really great footage of Cilla live. As someone who was around at the time, the much repeated 'press error' story of her name was NOT what Cilla said. She said the name change was because her voice was said to sound more black than white. This was quoted in at least one pop music weekly of the time. May her memory be a blessing.
Good lord, where did this masterpiece come from . A lot of people thought Dudley Moore was a comedian but he was a hell of a musician. A very talented guy.
@@Jacobde13e I was not saying Dudley Moore wrote it . Paul & John “gave” Cilla songs that she turned into hits . The records were produced by George Martin the same guy who produced the early Beatles records .
I admit I didn't know much about Cilla Black or her music until I viewed the three part series on her. Lovely voice, and I can see why SO many people loved her!
Indeed. Anyone like Dudley that can muck about and do funny faces whilst playing a piano perfectly and without sheet music to read is a musical genius to me. 🙂

Went to see the Everly Bros, Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas and Cilla Black at East Ham Granada in 67/68 I was 10 never forget it, I'm 64 now and it seems like yesterday
John Lennon pinned the song and you can find it on A hard days night on the album A Hard Day's Night in the United Kingdom and on the North American album Something New.
Another Epstein . Guess that for some people it will be confusing ;)). What a great little song . So british. You can feel that someone like Bowie will follow .
Sorry but I always thought she was overrated and had a mediocre voice, only got on because she was from Liverpool and knew Epstein and the Beatles. It shows here.
Radio Caroline Special A bit of UK musical history. Did you know It was a very young John Lennon that asked Cilla Black (known then as Cilla White) to perform on stage with The Beatles at The Cavern In Liverpool for Brian Epstein, her nerves got the better of her as she chose the wrong song to perform, after persuasion she performed again and Brian signed her immediately as the years passed Brian lost his groups Including The Beatles as they went onto further their career. Brian told Cilla after she had a number of hit singles "It's time for change you should have your own TV Show", Cilla declined and stated she was a singer not presenter. On 27 August 1967 Brian Epstein was found dead, a contract with The BBC for Cilla Black to have her own TV Show as a Presenter was found and given to her. She signed It and the rest Is history. the opening track for her debut as a TV Presenter on "Cilla" was written by Paul McCartney In 1966 "Step Inside Love" ruclips.net/video/E24fXFlqf6k/видео.html To Listen starlightbroadcasting.co.uk/popup-player/ and choose Soul Radio USA www.starlightbroadcasting.co.uk Mark Your Diary :- starlightbroadcasting.co.uk/event/hal-awards-2022/ #SoulRadioUSA, #steveharris,

Infectious!! Growing up in 60's England was such a wonderful time, and we were all besotted with Cilla!!

Suscribo compatriota
Clearly she was actually singing live unlike pretty much all the "singers" today.
I love the Cilla from this era the most. She is so vibrant and such a lovely natured person. It shows!
Yes, this Cilla was the best. I believe she jumped too fast into TV; she had everything to be the UK's Streisand.
Two wonderful people, both now gone, miss them both!

She was class Cilla, I loved her voice always , I loved “You’re my World” as a young teen .
What fun British television was in the 1960s. I rescinded my TV licence years ago. RUclips is better by far.
Except for all the annoying commercials..
Quite right.
Most people don’t realize that Dudley Moore wasn’t just a “goony” comedian, but also a very accomplished musician.
Yes true , the scene in Arthur when they are in the Hamptons and he plays the piano that's really him
He was pretty much musical genius !
He was an exhibitioner in organ at Oxford University.
He earned pocket money by playing piano with Johnny Dankworth and Cleo Laine.
Glad im not 'most people' !

It's a Beatles song (Lennon/McCartney)

Moore was actually a trained classical pianist.
@ Oh yes My mother saw him in London in the 60’s I think with Peter Cook & a band I think called the Dudley Moore trio. She loved that night.
A great jazz pianist.
This is so nice, the joyful spirit of the times. And both of them now gone.
This never ceases to make me laugh no matter how many times I play it.
Me too lovely times we had then
Me too, simpler times.
@@lizdervish6557 I was either unborn or a baby back then, but it's a damned sight more accomplished and funny than a lot of humour today.
Brilliant. The innocence
Ah, Cilla's laugh & Dudley looks so cute. R. I. P both.
Great tv
Great times
Great cilla xx
She was the best-miss her so much
Amazing Harmony vocal and a beautiful harpsichord arrangement too. Lovely even with the silliness.
I have always LOVED Cilla. And always will. She was definately one of the very very best 👏👏👏❤
I admit I didn't know much about Cilla Black or her music until I viewed the three part series on her. Lovely voice, and I can see why SO many people loved her!
This is freaking adorable!
Love Cilla's voice. She had some really good songs!
Cilla had a very contagious laugh. He was a very funny person. RIP CILLA (1943-2015).
What a delightful performance!
That's Dudley Moore on the keyboards she's goofing with :)
How did she keep singing for so long without laughing? Just a matter of time before she cracked. Bless her and Dud. Great stuff.
One of my favourite clips..
Wonderful.Cilla doing a great job and then so funny.A great clip.Dud and Cilla were good friends and he played piano on a few of her records
Dudley Moore was a very very good pianist and was glad to play on my occasions when asked.
I loved Cilla from age eight when I saw her on American TV.
Another great song by Lennon& McCartney, probably the 2nd best thing that Cilla sang ……& here with that comedic & musical genius, Dudley Moore !
Wow very great song by cilla black ala beatles..
Alle beide einfach nur Legendär
Extraordinarios Artistas Cilla y Dudley.un abrazo a la Eternidad.
Wish this was on cd!!
jOHN lENNON WAS PROBABLY CHOCKED UP AND SMILING ALL AT ONCE WHEN HE FIRST SAW & HEARD THIS.
Dudley Moore had a jazz trio, he was a fantastic pianist. Catch his song he did for the movie 10.
Very interesting. One of my favorite songs when sung by John Lennon
And McCartney. Lennon wrote the song, but it was sung as a duet with McCartney.
@@catherinewilson3880Unless its Johns demo where it is just sung by him.
Sooo cute 😄❤️
I just love this so much
It's cute how she corrects her 'andicap to handicap :)
Probably one of John's best. Very different chord changes for its time.
Right up there with "Laughing Elvis."
The other person here at the piano was very famous in England, then in America as the rich boy/man in the movies Arthur.
Yep.
Depends on your point of view. I'd say the other person here at the piano was very famous in England., but nothing like Dudley obviously.

Nice little vocal arrangement by Dud
Cilla said Dudley played the piano on her 72 single[You, You, You,] .
Back when many were boozing it up!
God
Dañaron este bello tema
How many women of the 70's would have given anything to sing to and flirt with Dudley Moore like that?
Cilla was so funny und pretty all the time.
THATS ONE HAPPY DUDLEY MOORE
I spy with my little eye Billy J. Kramer, at the beginning of this.
Lovely lady
Classic 👌🏻
lol this is really fun !
I was born in 1959.. Arica. Chile.. Cilla is and will be for ever my girl come true... tears right now!!!
🇬🇧 👍 !

Paulie´s Sister!
Before the nose bob.
John and Paul I believe.
Cilla was never a looker.
@tecdessus True..
She had killer legs
@@Mark-td5ux Not really.
Cilla would be succesful even if she was a young woman today..
not today .. different world
The early version of Jim Carrey
Not a perfect voice but the sheer soul of it ma es up for that
She was so inocent
Lol! She gave that impression.
Genius. Did Cilla write that?
John Lennon pinned the song and you can find it on A hard days night on the album A Hard Day's Night in the United Kingdom and on the North American album Something New.
Yes, but credited to Lennon/McCartney.
@@jamesdunn9714 Absolutely. It was a hit in its own right for the Beatles. Good God Dud is a funny guy, very natural then.
Ha Ha
That man ( I don't know his name) was ruing the song.
Another Epstein . Guess that for some people it will be confusing ;)). What a great little song . So british. You can feel that someone like Bowie will follow .
Her voice is at best very ordinary and often out of tune. I don't understand why she got recognition
She’s out of tune
not as good as the beatles
This is garbage.
