I learned this truth. Started listening to "new science" followed keto evolved into carnivore. Hard lesson learned. Severely damaged my colon, I have tests results to prove. Gastritis and esophigitis. There is no NEW SCIENCE regarding the proper human diet. I am slowly healing. Thank you Chef AJ and Dr Mcdougal. You must grow weary repeating yourself over and over....you are saving lives! Please don't stop. ❤

I am no scientist but as a person severely obese from age 4 to 55, I can attest to the truth of all of this. Every word. I am now a confirmed WFPB eater, especially POTATOES 🥔 and maintaining a healthy normal weight effortlessly. After decades of obsessing about foods, seeking a miracle, I found the answer 😊

That is nice to hear you fixed longstanding severe obesity. I lost 50 lb but I started WFPB 7 years ago to fix cholesterol. Weight loss, better blood pressure and resting heart rate were all side effects, albeit extremely beneficial ones. I can control my weight easily now when I start gaining a little. Nothing like before.

I need to hear this over an over because we are inundated with articles, ads, social media groups and coworkers who claim that all carbs (complex) are evil and that high fat is the only way to save our brains and prevent Alzheimer’s!

I can highly recommend you watching Peter Roger's videos on alzheimer and fat as well, it's pretty deep into biochemistry but that also tells you why something works or doesn't. I only watch his nutritional videos, they're excellent, but he does post a lot of other stuff too.

Thank you Chef AJ. You are such a blessing. . I’ve been a raw vegan for 10 years prior to going totally plant-based cooked and raw. Now I’ve taken my life to a higher grade than ever before with the SOS 100% plant-based diet with no Franken foods. I have been a Raw Food chef and the Director of Creative Health Institute where I was able to work with many people helping them turn around their diabetes,, autoimmune diseases, and even cancer. You’re encouragement and insights into the benefits of an SOS diet and lifestyle has dramatically changed my health bringing every marker to heights that I never expected as a 72 year old man. I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you, and a special thank you to Dr. McDougall. God bless you both.

Have you listened to Doug Lisle? He frequently mentions that only about 10% or people are drawn to this freely available info. My own spouse maintains that he is the healthy eater, not me. He doesn't want to hear anything else. All I can do is keep adding more fruits and veg to his diet, which he will at least eat

This is possibly THE best talk with Dr. McDougall you've ever done. Thank you for asking hard questions that he answered logically and truthfully. It was interesting to witness at a dinner in 2022 the only 2 people who ate a couple of loaves of bread each were the only 2 on keto diets...saying they were cheating for one meal. They were so carb deficient they literally freaked out and couldn't stop eating bread!

@1:14:35 The thing that inspired me to adopt WFPB is the Seventh Day Adventist study that shows healthy-eating vegans have the greatest health and longevity. The influencers can brilliantly articulate their positions, and it all sounds plausible to a regular guy like me, but actual outcomes carry a lot more weight.

The presentation is excellent for making science accessible to all people in an enjoyable and engaging way. Giving people the ability to research, to evaluate and explore information given to them as fact is a valuable gift that can help people be better prepared to handle people trying to profit off them by misinformation and fear mongering. I think having basic knowledge of science and tools for critical thinking are essential to people’s well being and should be basic education requirements. One thing that would really help people is understanding how data can be manipulated, statistics and methods used would also be useful for people to have an understanding of to help sort out lies that can harm them and their family.

Thank you for sharing this information. I wish dr. McDougall addressed all these internet doctors specifically (dr Hyman, dr Berg etc) and bioengeneers who all claim that keto is the only way to live efficiently and that sugar causes brain damage. They say that the obesity started in 80's when low fat diet became popular...I know i feel better and my numbers are better since switching to Wfpb although I am not losing weight (5-10 lbs, just stuck 😢). But why do they claim the recent studies and research as well? Is so confusing for simple people like me.

Are you eating enough calories on the plant based diet? Sometimes, I think the body can hold on to weight also because you aren't eating enough, and it doesn't feel safe to release the weight, because it's keeping itself ready for "famine" times.

Where else we save money by eating starch- and fruit/veg-based is on shampoo...and soap and toilet paper! And we need less frequent clothing laundering. I guess it's that, without the animal and other grease, my kitchen dish cloth doesn't get sour smelling, either. It's definitely the earth and health loving "way to go"!
