😱😱😱A Moon Shaped Pool is my favorite!! Give it more time, man - I'm assuming you hadn't heard it before this list? Although it might seem a bit formless and monochromatic at first, for me, by about the fourth listen, those songs started to click, click, click into place... A lot of eerie, exploratory energy which I really dig... "Burn the Witch", "Daydreaming", "Decks Dark" - perfect opening triptych. And "The Numbers"... "THE NUMBERS" - a PERFECT SONG. Possibly my favorite by them... Serge Gainsbourg's ghost must have been involved in that one. Weirdly, the music video for "Daydreaming" helped enhance my appreciation of the song, which doesn't always happen - you should check it out if you haven't seen it! Speaking of enhancements, Christopher O'Riley's Radiohead piano album True Love Waits is an amazing record, and really helped elevate my opinion of the Pablo Honey tracks "Thinking About You" & "I Can't". Piano-fied Radiohead makes for excellent, dramatic housecleaning music, haha... Who knew! A comment re: The King of Limbs - while I sympathize with your take on "Give Up the Ghost", as it describes my initial opinion of the song... it's grown on me. But "Separator" is a MASTERPIECE. The slightly off-putting mix of the percolating bass and skittering drums sort of conjures up a dreamstate... and the floating "Wake me uuuup" vocals at the end get me every time... 👇👇👇 Also, funnily enough, I LOVE "Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors", and I HAVE sat down and thought, "Oh man... like, I really need to listen to 'Pulk-slash-[Pull] Revolving Door[s]' RIGHT NOW..." 😂 In fact, Merrill Garbus of Tune-Yards actually named it her favorite Radiohead song OF ALL TIME. Check it out - her reasons are interesting (especially if you're familiar with her group): www.stereogum.com/1785330/33-musicians-discuss-their-favorite-radiohead-songs/lists/ Cheers! ✌
Good to see your passion clearly coming through. I listened to A Moon Shaped Pool when it was new a few times. And I span it a few times more for this ranking. Sadly, it just doesn't grab me in the same way it does for you. But that's the beauty of that whole thing called subjectivity. I wish I liked it as much as you or Ste or Anthony Fantano but alas... 😓
Yeah. Kramzer from Tastes Like Music is probably the biggest Radiohead superfan and they’re his favorite group ever…and they’re probably the number one of bands that I like and respect but do not love at all. My top two here are the only albums of theirs that I can say that I “love” and even then, they top out at 4.5/5 stars lol: 1. In Rainbows (2007) 2. Kid A (2000) 3. Ok Computer (1997) 4. The Bends (1995) 5. Hail to the Thief (2003) 6. A Moon Shaped Pool (2016) 7. Amnesiac (2001) 8. King of Limbs (2011) 9. Pablo Honey (1993)
Good ranking Chuchu. Here’s mine: 9. The King Of Limbs (⭐️⭐️) Favs: Codex, Lotus Flower and Give Up The Ghost 8. Amnesiac (⭐️⭐️ and a half) Favs: Pyramid Song, You And Whose Army?, Knives Out. 7. A Moon Shaped Pool (⭐️⭐️⭐️) Favs: Burn The Witch, Daydreaming, Desert Island Disk, Ful Stop and Present Tense. 6. Pablo Honey (⭐️⭐️⭐️) Favs: You, Creep, Thinking About You, Anyone Can Play Guitar, Lurgee, Blow Out 5. Hail To The Thief (⭐️⭐️⭐️ and a half) Favs: 2+2=5, Sail To The Moon, There There, Myxomatosis, Scatterbrain and A Wolf At The Door. 4. Kid A (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and a half) My favs: Everything except The National Anthem and Treefingers, although I do enjoy them still. 3. In Rainbows (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) Favs: Everything except House Of Cards, which I think is good, just not as great as the other material. 2. The Bends (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) Favs: Planet Telex, The Bends, Fake Plastic Trees, (Nice Dream), Bullet Proof (I Wish I Was)…, Black Star, Street Spirit (Fade Out) 1. OK Computer (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) Favs: Every… single… moment..
‘The Bends’….just got it, having saved it since OK’s release. Still digesting as I was checked out in the desert when it was released. Checked out from music as I completely disengaged from the cult of culture. Less in front of me, so I thought I should just dive in. Hail held up better for me than when it came out. Amnesiac is still difficult in context of it’s time as a a soundtrack of never ending war. Some of my favorite songs but what a mood it sets. King always ranked higher for me compared to how it was received , maybe due to From In the Basement performance. Moon shaped sits aside, just so emotional- careful how you go there…the tops 3 rotate constantly.
My Controversial ranking of Radiohead albums, Don't hate me 1. Ok Computer (1997) 2. The Bends (1995) 3. Pablo Honey (1993) 4. In Rainbows (2007) 5. Hail to the Thief (2003) 6. A Moon Shaped Pool (2016) 7. Kid A (2000) 8. Amnesiac (2001) 9. The King of Limbs (2011)

Really glad not to see TKOL at #8 or #9. Not their best record, but typically underappreciated.
Well reviewed, have the same view of Radiohead, so-so to god level

Here's hoping to see you make a ranking video for Depeche Mode and Siouxsie and the Banshees. 🤞😣🤞
Down for DM... Good call...
I made the Siouxie and the Banshees ranking a few weeks ago.
@@tokyochuchu Oh that's right you did. And I see that I watched it too. I am such an idiot. Lol. I apologize.
Good news for you - he already ranked Siouxsie and the Banshees a couple weeks back! 👍
