Globku your explanation is extremely short sighted imo. People act differently based on the environment they grew up in so after having amnesia and being taken to the demon slayer corps he mostly grew up learning only about how to slay demons which would obviously make his behavour more towards focusing on his duty. Having regained his memories he now remembers his father who he loved and admired like tanjiro. When you admire someone a lot of the time you want to be like them or cool like them. So him saving koteksu was him staying with the morales he wished to believe in. Im not saying he made the best decision based off of what he knew but imo it makes sense. Plus in the end him saving koteksu ended up helping muichiro and everyone else just like tanjiro and muchiro's father said so him sticking to what he believed ended up helping more people in the long run. Thats my opinion. You can disagree if you want
Nah youre speaking fr. In regards to the big fight this arc, he was slowly but surely becoming himself again thanks to Tanjiro's influence but even in the middle of combat it was conflicting him which is what caused a few mistakes but by the end of the battle he managed to come out his true self. Really nice if you ask me. I find it hard to believe he's worse than Mitsuri.
Are we not forgetting the fact that in turn of saving kotetsu he bought enough time for Tanjiros sword to be sharpened, the ending would of been completely different if tanjiro never got his almost finished sword to slay UM4
He didn't even bring up the fact that the Demon Slayer Corp wanted both brothers to join the crop and his brother refused and shut them down because he was selfish thinking that mentality would keep his brother alive since he saw him as weak. If they would have joined his brother wouldn't have died. Basically Muichiro is the lesson of why being selfish won't always get what you want.
@@kristianwashington2110 Moral of the story is This entire video was just a short sighted take on what was actually going on, clearly Globku didn't get the bigger picture.
I think the reason he was mean was because he was an empty shell. He had no memory. Nothing at all. That was not the person he was before he lost his memory so it makes sense that after he gains his memory back he is nice again. Pretty simple if you ask me and makes sense imo
Df? No that’s not why he was mean he was mean because his younger brother was always mean while he was always nice and as a result his brother died. So he realized he had to change and that was how life was had nothing to do with his memory or having an empty shell he looked at everything logically and he said things without thinking of feelings just like how his brother did. He never lost his former way of thinking it was just clouded due to life events and it took tanjiro to bring that out
@@Agent_Apostle hmmm if anything I guess it could be a combination of both things both his memory loss and the loss of his brother. Again tho that was never who he was and after the events of the season it makes sense that he goes back to his old self
@@GiroAureo the manga and anime portray it both very clearly so he shouldn't have needed to read it. you just need a broader understanding of character design philosophy and sadly, not everyone can just understand a character instantly
I hate to say it but in my opinion you are completely mistaken. I believe the interpretation the author was going for is that Muichiro's memory loss wasn't just lack of memories. Instead, I believe he effectively lost himself, became an empty shell and didn't know what or who he was, which was eating away at him. Tanjiro's words were the spark for him, helping him recover his memories soon after and regain himself slowly but surely, which would lead him to being a more compassionate and kind human being, as he was in the past. This would explain the change from purely logical and effective decision-making to decisions led largely by emotion. Besides, he knew Mitsuri was at the village just a short while ago so it makes sense that he would go after Gyokko, seeing as the creatures threatening the village were his and killing him would in turn save the village. I actually believe that Muichiro going after Gyokko by himself shows how confident he is in his abilities and shows us that as his memories return, his conviction grows even stronger than before. As for him being the weakest, I would rather not delve into that matter, as explaining why I believe he isn't would require facts from later on in the series and I would not want to spoil that for anyone. If anyone has read the manga I believe they understand what I am talking about.
He knew Mitsuri was at the village but he didn't know she was close, hence why Mitsuri was surpised she was stationed so close to the village also he didn't go after Gyokko, he went to save a boy and his comrade and Gyokko just happened to be there but he didn't know that hence why his decision was illogical and dumb because he failed as Hashira because he just save the 3 ppl vs the many/more important at the village. Only he knew in the moment of the decision was that Tanjiro was fighting Hantengu in the village but nothing more
@@legend1756He might have known that Mitsuri was still close to the village, but even if he didn't it's irrelevant, because if Gyokko wasn't there, then he still would have made it to the village in time, but since he was there, it makes completely sense to take out the guy that is controlling all the fish demons in order to kill them all together and save the village, plus what the heck did you want him to do, letting die the three people in front of him because there are other people in danger? Tanjiro has been saving everyone without thinking about it since the beginning of the series and no one ever complained about it, simply because saving the people in front of you first is the priority and it's and obvious thing to do, it's also funny that if he did let those people die, I'm sure there would have not been a single person that criticize him for the decision of saving them that would have ended up liking him. His decision also allowed Tanjiro to get the sword that he used to kill the upper moon four, which would have survived otherwise since Tanjiro's sword was still stuck in the upper four's neck. Even if all the people would have ended up dying because he chose to save those three, it still would have not affected the story, because two swordsmiths are more than enough to make the swords for the Hashira and for the people close to that level, which are the only relevant to the story, so saying that Muzan would have won is objectively wrong. To end up my point, is also wrong to take out Mitsuri from the plot and trying to prove that Muichiro is wrong because of that, since without Mitsuri they would have all died because of the upper moon four, resulting in the people from the village dying anyway, so you just can't take her out of the equation, even if Muichiro didn't know that Mitsuri would have come (which I think he did know), facing one versus one Gyokko would have still been the right decision, because if he went to the village to save the people there, they would have still died to the hands of both the upper moon four and five, so even if his decision making was entirely based on instinct and compassion, he still would have made the right decision, going full circle to what Tanjiro told him, that helping somebody would have resulted in something good for you at some point (which definitely didn't referred to the kid saving him from the water prison, since the kid was the reason he ended up there in the first place). To conclude, I think that every criticism towards Muichiro is simply biased since he fulfilled his duty as a Hashira perfectly and he got a great character development all in one single arc.
Honestly, if tokito didn't give tanjiro his new sword, then tanjiro had never killed the upper 4, and the upper 4 could have killed all of them that would have broke current events lol
Muichiro is really a key factor in fights fr bc in the manga they never woulda killed UM1 either if it weren’t for Muichiro and his red blade stopping Koku’s regeneration
I think the points made in 10:05 aren't the strongest, a bit foggy if you will. The simplest interpretation of Muichiro's change to me would be that his trauma response was to copy the brother he didn't want to lose. Making decisions he subconsciously knew his brother would make. His true version is careless like his father was when it comes to saving people.
Muichiro has amnesia and he's still just a young kid and I think you're forgetting that. Muichiro lost everyone he cares about and lost all of his memories. The logical and calculated muichiro we see isn't the true muichiro. It's what he was molded into by hellish training to become a demon slayer. He only knew this training cause he had no memories of himself. Muichiro himself was always a lot more impulsive, easy to influence and clingy to those he trusts as seen with his brother. His real character is the one that prioritized the little kid over the whole village. He wanted to save people and would never abandon someone in need. Tanjiro doesn't influence his actions at all. Tanjiro simply serves as a key to unlock his past memories and unlock his true character. While he stays cool and calculated during his battle, he still initiates it because of his own true character. Muichiro isn't written poorly at all. What else could you expect from a young child with massive trauma from his past with very little experience as a demon slayer and because of that lack of experience he lacks the ability to make crucial decisions when he has too like with saving the kid or the villagers. Muichiro acts more like his brother yuichiro when his memories are sealed. Yuichiro was what he clinged too in order to live after his parents died and that personality and what his brother believed in was subconsciously dictating his actions when he had no memories.
You hit it on the nail. People don't bring up the fact that Muichiro want to join the Crop to save people. He was selfless and always helped everyone. His brother however got hardened by their parents death and became selfish and refused the crop recruitment chance every time. However if they would have joined the crop his brother wouldn't have died that day. That's why what Tanjiro said made him remember.
Exactly, loved this. I also want to say how in the beginning he said Tokio left the village to get destroyed but he didn’t. He literally was fighting the demon creating all those fishes. If it wasn’t for tokito the village would have been no more. Hantengu was only focused on Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya this whole season
@@ilauxq2807I think it's because the day time is the only time you can train. Once night falls, the demons are out and about. For every second wasted during the day, the less time your skills are being developed to fight the demons.
@@senakuma9985 It doesn't matter if the Hashira are the strongest. They still have to train and hone their skills. If they stop training, they'll get weaker. It's common sense.
Now I'm here to debunk Globku's interpretation, particularly on Muichiro. When we first meet Muichiro's he's completely logical and it makes him come off as a jerk. In that same episode, Tanjiro notes that Muichiro isn't being a jerk on purpose, he's being blunt but he's not being mean-spirited. Earlier when he calls Muichiro cruel, Muichiro himself was confused because he didn't think he was being cruel. Muichiro vs Kotetsu represents logic vs emotion and as @julianfriis8962 points out Muichiro had to wait on his sword anyways so Kotetsu really didn't waste his time. Muichiro's decision was also the correct one. At this point in time everyone was aware of Hantengu but no one knew that Gyokko was there as well. If Muichiro did not eliminate Gyokko when he did, they would end up in a fight against Zohakuten and Gyokko. To also say that Muichiro would not be in that situation against gyokko if he weren't trying to protect the swordsmiths is kinda crazy. As manga readers, we both know that the mark is the reason Muichiro won against Gyokko. Without it, he would have lost to Gyokko. Finally, Muichiro has regained his emotions and does not only operate on logic alone. As a matter of fact, he made the logical decision of taking the sword from Haganezuka and giving it to Tanjiro. Muichiro did not lose his logic but now with his emotions, he's able to empathize, sympathize and communicate properly. I don't believe there are any terrible hashiras in the story.
That’s fax. I didn’t see a reason to be so disliked. Especially by globku, curious to why he hates mitsuri. Like I understand people don’t like the show. But he does and he’s pointing out what he thinks is wrong which is fine. But his reasoning is false because it makes sense and as you said it would likely have ended with more deaths if he ignored kotetsu and went to the village. Would like to see globku reply to ur comment actually.
Also him going to save the sword maker , gets him tanjiros sword which he uses to kill the demon. Too many things go wrong if things don't play out exactly how they did.
@@kwamenorville3526 Exactly and that fight allowed him to awaken his mark. If they ended up in a fight against Zohakuten and Gyokko everyone was pretty much dead
When you add on one more thing to what you said about him taking out upper moon five, him being the reason tanjiro had a sword to kill upper moon 4 and then later on he helps kill upper moon 1 he's actually had the most impact out of everyone besides tanjiro on the upper ranks and taking help taking them down even saved us from a boring backstory that upper 5 wanted to give us.
@@Owen-sx4jj globku's views are rather short-sighted and a lot of people in the comments have given a thorough analysis on the video and the character including me. i hope you'll find my comment and take the time to read it and form your own opinion from it
@@tutterthemouse152 sure but his critique was only on the anime. The manga would probably tell us more in future arc but from what he said I do agree, saving kotetsu's friends didn't make sense

Also, he killed an upper moon demon by himself while others in other arcs other hashiras had to kill an upper moon with a group 😂 if tanjiro didn't kill upper 4 the love hashira would have died but
He didn't kill him by himself he would have died without the masked kid and he got the mark from tanjiro. That's more help than what rengoku and tengen got
@xalz3em340 ok, your point is still not valid because he got his memory back, so he got his demon slayer mark from, so technically, he still killed Gyokko. Even then, if tokito didn't help the boy and let him die, he would have never gotten help out of the pot.
@xalz3em340 also tanjiro was injured when rengoku was fighting upper 3 and also tengen wasn't strong enough to kill upper 6 but needed help to all in all I say that 3 little bubbles is helping but because tokito did help the boy and he did kil Gyokko by himself I didn't see the boy help kill anyways lol but that's my opinion still a great hashira
@@xalz3em340Yeah but without the masked kid, he wouldn't have been in that situation. And he didn't had the mark from tanjiro. Please watch again the anime or read the Manga before saying non sense
Huge L. Muichioro’s character was fine. Through Tanjuro he remembered who he was and discovered a new reason and motivation to become a demon slayer. Before he killed demons cause saving people was what a demons slayer did logically. Now he cares about people and saves them out of kindness.
His character was really boring and uninteresting. Of course his family all died some tragic way. Because what else can you do in this show? And of course they gave him a twin for some reason out of nowhere to drive him. Him losing his memory you could argue was out of trauma, but it seems weird when you have Genya who went through worse and didn’t lose his memories. How he wasn’t trained or raised to respect life and be a bit emotional makes no sense, especially since you have people around like Rengoku. How he’s so strong is also just to make him strong. All of his training was offscreen and just told so making it believable was laughable. His fight against Gyoko was concluded in such an anticlimactic way as well. I think Tanjiro being a good influence on him is fine, but I found his entire upbringing and character at all to be really contrived.
You should read “Demon Slayer: Stories of Water and Flame” it fleshes out the love hashira’s breathing technique and how she developed it while training under Rengoku
@@GiroAureo I'm not preventing anyone from enjoying the character. I just want to understand their reasoning. Nothing wrong with that right? btw I'm not a Zeke fanboy, he just make funny faces in the last season and I decide to use it lol =p
Perhaps it was logically a terrible decision. However, if you think of it another way, it was the ONLY decision. This is how demon slayers act. They save everyone they can, no matter the cost. That means the closest ones take priority. And as a Hashira, Muichiro should be the guy rushing in and saving literally everyone. He's not ignoring the people outside of his sight, he's just saving the people that he can actually see are about to die first.
The reason he became his brother was because the closest thing to him after he went through a traumatic event causing him to lose his memory and become the thing he held closest to his heart u just wanted him to be edgy lets me honest
I'm halfway through but sometimes you need to realise that it's fiction and won't always be exactly 1 to 1 with reality, it was garunteed that mitsuri shows up because its not real so they can do that
Mitsuri's sword was designed for her unique movements and her flexibility, not directing for her breathing style, though it could be apart of the breathing style's actual fuctions.
Yeah you missed the point on this character man. I agree that his decision was weird, but what you don't get is the context of the situation. He was put in a situation where he could either go "save" the swordsmiths but let a little kid die, or save that kid and potentially let some swordsmiths die. Imo, his decision isn't all that dumb, especially considering the mental crisis he's having. (we'll see what I'm talking about later) The one decision to go save Kotetsu's friend though, I can admit, is the weird one. BUT, it also leads to him having to get a new katana (which was one of his focus early in the arc) AND he feels the source of the demons thinking that beating him will, in fact, save the whole village. So it makes sense he'll stay there. You'll also notice how he tries to get rid of the demon as fast as possible to go help everyone, even when he's poisoned and weak from his first birth mark use since a long time ago. Now, for his morale sense, you seem to forget he's lost all empathy up to this point. It's his whole character point, he's ultra logical because he doesn't feel anything. He just does what he has to do in most pratical way possible. Can you imagine what it feels like to get emotions back? I personally can, and I can tell you it's a special thing. And it's a really well made way to tell it, especially with his brother.
I don't think he became his brother but remembered what it was like to love someone and, be "seeing his brother in other people," he developed compassion
Haven't watched the new season yet but I read the manga. You didn't bring during Muichiro flashback's the demon slayer crop trying to recruit them and his brother said no. That interaction is very important to the character.
nah you did not say he is the weakest Hashira when you have read the manga any one else in that fight and injurie them like he was they would most likely not have kept fight (infinity castle arc)
Mitsturis sword is always bendy, its a whip sword, and mui decided hes stop and help them with that demon since its pretty weak and on the way back before realizing the whole village js being attacked. Hashiras have a region theyre set to protect and they dont go outside of it very often, he knows that mitsuris is right there and tanjiro should be getting help so he does have time to deal with the other uppermoon and protect the village, ad he threw the sword that ended uppermoon 4, he made the best possible choice for everyone and it all started with saving that little kid. And mui had to stay there for his new sword anyways, the kid thought that mui was too harsh and would probably break it beyond repair and then nobody else would be able to train
Mitsuri Kanoroji(maybe i spelled that wrong) only has a bendy sword cuz she had a genetic mutation where she has 8x more muscle than a normal person. And she was taught breathing by Rengoku and deviated from flame breathing to her love breathing. Love burns as hot as fire is the whole deal. But she is the one who is different, nof the breathing style. Its hers and hers alone
there's a butterfly effect tho and I think in my humble opinion Muichiro made the right choice, 1.if Muichiro wasn't there he wouldn't be able to throw the new sword to Tanjiro and possibly Hantengu could've escaped. 2.if we're going for numbers of people dying then who would've known how many would die if Hantengu escapes 3.haganezuka would've died, god knows what'll happen in the last few arcs if Tanjiro doesn't hv his sword or a diff quality of sword 4.sunrise countdown and infinity castle could turn out differently if Muichiro didn't regain his memory just food for thought tho don't go for my head ;-;
Also his brain was kinda foggy as well, and he took medicine and shit from shinobu trying to get better, he wasnt really in his best mind until he got his memories back and everything became more clear to him, he didn't just default as an ass hole. He saw the situation and he was trying to do his best for overall but ended up forgetting about the other consequences it could have on the others around it
I didn’t have a problem with his story really I just wish they gave more stuff for the hashira to do in this arc. Kanroji really didn’t have much to do at all I would’ve like to see her fight more
Michiro was never suppose to fill the jerk role of the hashira that just aims to get the job done, that's Sanemi. The guy that stabbed the heroine multiple times like a sadist, laughing at Tanjiro while doing so and had zero compassion for Tanjiro's situation, despite himself having been in almost the same situation before himself.
Obanai and Sanemi fit that role much better of being jerks and bullies hell even tengen and giyu come off as hypocritical at first and insane they're all crazy until you get to know them shinobu rengoku and mitsuri the most reasonable when you first meet them lol!
So first off the kid in the village didnt want tokito to use his prized toy because he just simply knew it wouldnt hold up against a hashira and didnt want someone so cruel to use his doll (very normal for a child). Tanjiro shows kindness and a strong determination to get stronger which makes the kid mature for a moment and let tanjiro train with his doll because of the pure potential tanjiro presented causing the child to have some trust. Tokito was done with it in a second too lmao im sure it wasnt even a challenge. Then on to the next point of tokito saving the boy and deciding to follow him on his quest. Muichiros whole drive while he is in this fog headed state is to literally piece his memories back together. The master reminded him that one day he will know who he is. So obviously hes very very persuaded by anything that allows him to potentially realize who he once was and follows the words of tanjiro. Tanjiros sentence was what literally made him follow the child into the next battle with gyokko. Practically this was set up to be the right choice because of him doing the right thing and the master nailing it into his head to follow that sense of relief on his brain to recover his memories. I wouldnt say it was luck more so the right course of actions of muichiros destiny. Muichiro following the child saved a man who created the only thing able to stop the upper moon saving the lives of those 3 people , a hashira, tanjiro , nezuko, and the swordsmiths being chased. Basically he saved everyones lives in that battle due to saving the small amount of people. He knew doing the right thing would lead him on a good path. Tanjiro literally said "the good u do will come around in the end". Its set up from a writers standpoint to make perfect sense. The thing about him taking his brothers attitude honestly to me just adds to how cool and also fucked up Tokitos situation was. Its not that muichiros twin had been in those situations for muichiro to adopt his personality its more so the trauma of mucihiro clinging to a small fragment of a fond memory. A clue to the puzzle in the form of the very way muichiro is acting. Some parts of it were entirely tokitos personality and then some were his brothers but he never 100% stated that he acted exactly like his brother but stated that he adopted some of his demeanor. You just kinda had a short sided view to a complex character and your lack of people knowledge formed an opinion that honestly kinda disrespects the writer lol. Basically your saying she ass pulled a personality for one of the most important characters and she wrote him to where everything he did was the wrong move lol. Gotta look deeper than that bud. Bro has no idea how characters work
I’d like to see who of the characters from this season would fit into a potential Hinokami Chronicles 2. (I for one think putting Mitsuri’s sword on a character would make her one of the most broken characters in the game)
Nah I think you missed something He didn't follow kotetsu to save those guys. It was for the sword. At that time, he had a blunt sword and that guy was making a new one for him, so he went there to get a sword and finally fight properly.
Lemme get this straight, so this man hates muichiro just because he is a forgetful 13 year old kid in this season who lacks experience and suffers with amnesia because of his traumatic backstory? I understand he was a cold character before he unlocked his memories again, but hating him because he “didn’t save the whole village by himself” when like I said he’s un experienced 13 year old boy with trauma AND it was no ordinary demons, these demons were upper 5 and upper 4 which are WAY stronger than upper 6 hence the fact that they killed many more hashira than gyutaro and daki combined. Then when muichiro started regaining his memories he got stronger and became more considerate. All in all, I don’t understand why people assume why muichiros trauma only made him act like his brother when we don’t know what muichiro really had went threw to act so nonchalant. He is my fave hashira because of his character development and because I think it’s so badass that he’s 14 (13 in season 3) and became a hashira in 2 months. He was an asshole because he didn’t remember anything whatsoever, but he’s motive when he had amnesia was to save only the strong people and not prioritize the weak which kind of makes sense.
Gyokko, is a character that the mangaka wanted people to hate, especially with the fact that his backstory isn’t even in the manga, but I can see how without gyokko having a backstory it just enforces the fact of how evil he truly was.
I’m sorry globku but I can’t agree with this one Muichiro lost his right bc it’ll say like a mental illness that’s is in real life nd he didn’t have a personality didn’t know about him so he was a “mean” person but in reality he was a person you’ll call a dull person someone who has no emotions or come off as a jerk but is a blunt person after encountering Tanjiro uses talk no jutsu in demon slayer form which triggered a hints to his past which can happen in real life once he regain thoses Memories he was able to regain who he was a person i like to call his character someone who forgets their true self which again can happen in rl but ppl explained his backstory better then me
I understand what Globku is talking about and I want to go over some points that he talks about in the video to put everything in a better light - First off. Love Breathing itself does not change the shape of the sword. The sword is designed to bend and extend and is to further emphasise the expertise of the swordsmiths because of how uniquely made it is. Love Breathing incorporates this unique weapon in acrobatic abilities that Mitsuri came up with herself. - About Muichiro and character archetypes. A lot of the Hashira start out by representing their breathing style in a personality. In this case as you said, Muichiro is calm and cold. His memory is foggy and his head is in the clouds. These are all references to mist. The same can be said for all of the other Hashira. Some more subtle than others but I think some obvious ones we've seen are: Rengoku being fierce like flames, Uzui being loud and flashy like his whole sound breathing and fireworks thing, Shinobu being calm and collected on the outside like a beautiful butterfly but terrifyingly furious on the inside like some other predatory insect or something idk. What I'm trying to say is that they start out like this when we first see them but gradually change and grow into being more unique rather than just having one personality trait for the whole show. The same can be said for Muichiro. - Muichiro's mistake of starting to care for individual people. In the part where he decides to help kotetsu save haganezuka and shinamori, Globku paint Kotetsu in a bad light. He's not the person who killed all these people in the village. Obviously, Kanroji returning to save the village chief was pure coincidence but you have to remember what this changed. If Haganezuka were to be left alone, he would've been killed by Gyokko, which would've defeated the whole purpose of this season's side plot with Yoriichi's old weapon. Muichiro also most likely thought Hinamori and Haganezuka were under attack by a demon in similar strength as the fish creature. Thinking he could help them out quickly to do a good deed, he wasted a lot of time and could've possibly let the whole village be destroyed. However, this didn't happen and Gyokko was the perfect villain for Muichiro to get his character arc and change him. - Why was Muichiro so similar to Yuichiro before he regained his memories. Muichiro acted cold like Yuichiro did but this doesn't mean that he copied his behavior. In fact, he knew nothing about him because of his memory loss. Just like you said, his demeanor was purely because of himself and what being a Hashira did to him. He doesn't actually fully behave like his brother at all. His brother may be cold but he's also way more emotionally cold while Muichiro was more logical. Muichiro wasn't aware of his rude behavior towards others while Yuichiro was actively pessimistic due to their awful situation. Tanjiro sparked the person in him he once used to be before he decided to become a demon slayer. His mind went in an ignorant state, trying to not be compassionate because look how it ended up for him. That's why he locked his memories and focused on his life as a Hashira instead of reflecting. - What is the message the author is trying to convey through Muichiro's character? I think Gotouge wanted to show that acting out of your own feelings isn't a bad thing. Muichiro was really comparable to Yoriichi Type Zero. He was like a bot, fulfilling his role as a Hashira and focusing on saving the most people. If you've watched Fate/Zero, you will come to understand that this isn't always the right thing to do. Sure, losing the wordsmiths would've been extremely dangerous but another thing that Gotouge wanted to convey is the fact that the demon slayer corps will always strive. Every lost skill will eventually find its way back into the hands of the people. Eventually, people will rebuild their lost techniques like Sun Breathing, Slayer Marks and especially creating nichirins. So you shouldn't be too harsh on Muichiro's decision on helping those in need. Eventually, everything came back and eventually, Tanjiro got granted the stroke of luck with Muichiro throwing the (almost) finished nichirin to finish the job. I hope this wasn't too confusing or drawn out and hopefully I made people see Muichiro's character in a better light. One bad decision can spark a ton of bad consequences but Muichiro can't predict the future and logical thinking shouldn't be applied to every situation. It's in people's nature to care for each other and help each other out when in need regardless if you're a Hashira or not. You might still think Muichiro is a bad character but c'mon. His breathing style is by far the cleanest one in the series (personal opinion) and his design is incredible (personal opinion). I mean, he's a 14 year old kid who's become a Hashira in 3 months. His badass way of absolutely destroying Gyokko before he could even get a chance to think about his life as a human. It's just incredible and I'm really sad that he got misinterpreted but I guess everyone has their own take on the characters
I'll say this in a comment below instead of editing the comment because goddamn is it already too long. I'm very sorry for writing a whole bible. I think I overanalyse too much but I really wanted to share my view and hopefully reach Globku to see if he might understand
@GiroAureo thank you and that sounds interesting so I'll be sure to give it a watch later. I'm learning for an exam tomorrow and got severely distracted oops. I just formed my view on the matter by myself and expressed it so I'm not 100% accurate about why Muichiro did what he did. I mean, I can't get into his head completely of course so maybe seeing meti not a bad guy's view might even broaden my view on it better. Man, why can't I just write short sentences... I'm procrastinating... aren't I...
interesting analysis. The only disappointing part is how convenient it was that Kanroji was just at the right place at the right time. It felt like lazy writing. That part could've been handled better imo. Other than that, I think you're on the mark about the meaning the author wanted to convey with Muichiro.
@@joydjinn8692 Thank you for the kind words and for bringing to light something I didn't bring up in my explanation. Everything in this story could be considered lazy writing as the slayers get through this fight against the demons with pure strokes of luck and coincidences. This is still a shonen manga and could have plot holes like these but the author cleverly covers those up by saying how this is a story about them overcoming the demons. In the numerous times they seemed to be on their last line of defence, they always push through, even with some luck added. Tanjiro and so many others could've died if this or that had happened a bit differently but it didn't. that's why Kanroji was also there at the right time to keep casualties to a minimum. also on another note. Kanroji just left the village that same night the attack started, so she was immediately requested to go back to the village and that's why she wasn't just there for plot convenience
@@tutterthemouse152 Yeah, good point. I'm no writer or anything so I'm in no position to heavily criticize one part that I seen as a bit lazy. Building this kind of stories is no small feats. The show is not bad just because of one plothole, otherwise, a lot of good shows would be considered bad haha Overall, very good analysis! You should do a video on it to explain your reasoning to a broader audiences. That would help lots of peoples understand Muichiro's character.
But tbh it was the right choice at the end of the day. If tokito goes to save the village and fight upper 4 then gyokko is gonna head there and you'll have 2 upper moons fighting together wich makes the chances of survival really low even if kanroji arrives.
Wow, lot of upvoted disagreements to your take. Having just finished watching myself and being anime only, I too think it was odd that in his memory repression state he assumed his brother's personality, and one sentence from some guy just completely switches his personality back to the kind hearted boy he used to be. It feels like a pretty common trope, but it takes me out of the moment. Anyone could've said that surface level idiom to him over the past however many years, but of course, it's our MC that completely changes him just like that. Personally, I didn't really love his character before or after this stark shift though, so it's kinda whatever to me.
Idk. Doesn't it make sense to replicate the behavior of a person who was an authority to you in an unknown situation? Like, even without memory loss that's not so rear for people to do
Love breathing doesn't make a sword bendy? In the anime and manga they say that the sword was made that way for mitsuris unique and flexible body as well as her fighting style because she wasn't fit to a breathing style like flame breathing. the sword and love breathing was created by her to use the max capability of her body.
Ngl every reason glob gave i either disagreed with or loved him for that purpose lol I think it’s perfectly reasonable for his subconscious to summon his brother when he lost his memories as an “attempt to get back what was lost” And when he regained his memories his true personality spilled back out. The decision he made was definitely dumb but it was made due to his own conflicted mental state. Truthfully it felt like muichiro prioritized his memories in that moment which distracted muichiro and made him lose sight of the village which i can again understand even if its not the “correct” move. Ultimately i love the character and i cant wait to see him in the future
I mean... he is still a jerk and logical following this. His compassion is selective, as we see in the Hashira Training. That said, I'd say Sanemi and Obanai are jerks, and Obanai is especially a jerk and... cold and logical in his thinking, if... rather irrational in how to solve the problems that he sees.
@@xalz3em340 no (spoilers) cuz sanemi after the battle with muzan you see his true self, he wasn't an asshole anymore he was more kind even to nezuko. Obanai we don't see being kind because 1 we only see tanjiro's view point of him which is an asshole 2 he dies so we don't know what he would act like when all demons are gone. Another thing Obanai and sanemi's backstory are more tramatic then most of the other hashiras
For me muichiro is a pretty good character. It's real that he makes some wrong decision but you have to think that the autor of the manga decided to make this character do this decision to find some moment for the other character (in this case Mitsuri) to show off
I loved this season, i wouldn't say muichiro is my favorite hashira, that's still rengoku, but muichiro is still good, he is a good kid and his backstory broke me.
Idk I don’t think you understand how trauma works.. I loved how this character went from uncaring back to his normals self after gaining his memories. Yeah you can say he forgot about the chief but had he left then they would have never got the swords from the smith who didn’t stop working which would mean everybody dies..he literally saved tanjiro and the village by doing what he did. Idk maybe I’m not as critical as you 🤷🏾♂️😂
Look, i do see the point behind the "There's no way that he became like his brother", but he didn't. Just like Muichiro in the beggining of this arc, we never really saw his brother before them losing their parents, and Muichiro himself does not dwelve deeper into his brother's personality before the traumatic event. Hell, Yuichiro was only introduced to the viewers AFTER the traumatic event, during this arc, there's no way to know if his brother was actually kind like Muichiro, and had a similar trauma response than him. Their (possible) trauma response probably formed something of a connection like "I was emotional, and lost everything i had, so to prevent myself from bad things happening to me, i will be logical". Does it make actual sense? no, but not every trauma responde does. What we saw from them both, wasn't purely people that were logical, but traumatized people dealing with their trauma. If they both were logical, besides the emotional block they were under, Muichiro wouldn't struggle to be present in the moment, and sometimes to be completely out (Dissociation), and Yuichiro wouldn't jump to the conclusion that they were powerless to be swordsman, because they couldn't prevent their parent's deaths (Taking the blame of something they coudn't control). Again, not logical responses, trauma induced ones.
"you dont remember your past means your a jerk" is completely wrong, you said yourself he only goes for logig, muichiros brain doesnt go hmmmm if I am kind he will like me and then he might help me later, no it goes, kindess = useless, until tanjiro reminds him of his past and then finally he is compassionate again because he remembers who he was, he is by far not the worst hashira, but I guess its your opinion
He became a Hashira in 2 months after the dead of his familly he is a descendent of Spoiler***** Kokushibo and awakened the dS mark he aint weak Uzui and Rengoku are weaker by far
Rengoku and Muichiro have been my favorite Hashira since I saw them in Season 1 when Tanjiro first met all of them. Smh its gonna be a hard road for ya boi 😂. Sanemi is my 3rd fav though so I cant wait to see more of him!
I’m glad my “hot-take” isn’t as uncommon as I thought. I actually had the opposite opinion when I first saw him, being like “oh he’s just a jerk”, but now I see what I’ve lost
Well I do not agree with any of your points to be honest. One of your arguments was how it was luck that the village did not get destroyed however at the same time it was unlucky that muichiro faced upper 5 instead of a normal demon. If it was a normal demon he would have killed him in an instant and then saved the village, after all he is a hashira capable of immense speed compared to some normal demons. Not to mention that we do not know if he knew that mitsuri was there. His action may had been the best one if it wasn't for upper 5 appearing there instead of a normal demon. It is also more logical to go help isolated villagers first and then the village, as the isolated ones would have a 100% chance of being killed since muichiro would not be able to save them because he would not be able to leave the village. In contrast, if he helps the isolated villagers, he can then go to the village and help everybody there, increasing the chances of everybody living.
You're right to say it was the worst choice but that would be to take everything in isolation. He would never have regained his memory and would never have gotten stronger and he would still die because he would end up fighting two upper moons if the girl didn't show. Infact he would die before she arrives because the battle would quickly become tanjiro nezuko that other guy and muichiro against the two upper moons and in a tag team it would have been too much. It was the best decision to make even if the girl hashira was taken out of the picture completely.
Honestly, I don't think that having amnesia made Muichiro a jerk by default because he lost his kindness, nor that he downloaded his brother's personality into his mind. I think his amnesia also caused a sort of identity disassociation, his brother's cold mannerisms that he mostly knew him for at the moment of the trauma becoming imprinted on his psyche's empty shell. Then, his hatred of demons and his position as a Slayer served to create a highly cold and overly practical douche. But when he regains his memories, it's not like he just becomes nice. I think his journey as a Hashira, his brother's memory and his innate kindness all fuse into one. He's much more sassy now and is rage is cold, but he's still willing to do anything to defeat the demons, not caring if Haganezuka was done sharpening the Historical Sword before ganking it and chucking it at Tanjiro, because he knew that, for the mission to be done, Tanjiro needed a weapon.
I mean, I think following the heart and not pure logic was the point of Muichiro's arc. I'm not the biggest fan of Muichiro flashback, I found it a bit confusing myself. But what Muichiro does is effectively what his father did when his wife was sick: going out in a storm to find some medical herbs that probably wouldn't even working, risking to left boh Muichiro and his brother orphan of both their parents. Moreover, I think Muichiro was sure to kill the upper five demon pretty quickly (and he actually does that once he gets his memories back) and then go to help the villagers
Its not confusing in he slightest he had amnesia couldnt remember shit so he kind of became like his brother Yushiro but we saw in the end of this season he is back to his caring and helping old self.
I think it’s very interesting that you admit that you didn’t initially understand the intent of the author most people got then doubled down on your bad take. Even if it’s a terrible take that dismisses a lot of the plot beats laid in front of you I think you’re entitled to your opinion.
I must be. You go through and explain the most popular interpretation of the story then state that’s not how you interpreted the story. Discussion of art is always a good thing. I disagree with you but I’m glad you put your opinion. It’s well articulated and I can see why someone might not enjoy Tokito’s character development. I also don’t really agree with what you say about Tokito’s character especially consider what happens in the last arc.

Df? No that’s not why he was mean he was mean because his younger brother was always mean while he was always nice and as a result his brother died. So he realized he had to change and that was how life was had nothing to do with his memory or having an empty shell he looked at everything logically and he said things without thinking of feelings just like how his brother did.
Yeh I don’t support his opinion at all in this video 💀
He knew Mitsuri was at the village but he didn't know she was close, hence why Mitsuri was surpised she was stationed so close to the village also he didn't go after Gyokko, he went to save a boy and his comrade and Gyokko just happened to be there but he didn't know that hence why his decision was illogical and dumb because he failed as Hashira because he just save the 3 ppl vs the many/more important at the village. Only he knew in the moment of the decision was that Tanjiro was fighting Hantengu in the village but nothing more
I don’t support his opinion as well. [I’m obviously a fan of Muichiro of course :>]
@@legend1756 yeah, i was gonna make the same point about gyokko, he didn't know he was there he only knew this kid's friend was in danger
Muichiro is stronger than all the Hashiras we’ve seen fight easily
Honestly, if tokito didn't give tanjiro his new sword, then tanjiro had never killed the upper 4, and the upper 4 could have killed all of them that would have broke current events lol

Muichiro literally overpowered upper moon five
The funniest part about Globku's hot takes is that he thinks they arent hot takes lol
Bro out here writing essays 😂(i read every single paragraph)
No one has time to read that shit.
In my opinion Kotetsu didn't waste Muichiros when he refuesed to give the key. since he would be there anyway due to him needing a new sword.
Well, yes, but also no cause. Instead of being able to train while waiting for his sword, he had to just sit there and wait
Exactly, and plus how are lives at risk if it’s day time? Demons don’t kill in the day 😂
@@ilauxq2807I think it's because the day time is the only time you can train. Once night falls, the demons are out and about. For every second wasted during the day, the less time your skills are being developed to fight the demons.

I agree

(we'll see what I'm talking about later)
The one decision to go save Kotetsu's friend though, I can admit, is the weird one.
This is definitely the worst take I’ve ever seen on Demon Slayer☠️
6:36 I mean, he also had no idea he would run into upper 5
Also if he beat upper 5, presumably the monsters attacking the villagers would also disappear
3:55 he didnt even know the sword was there tho?
But one of the three people he saved was working on the sword which is hope for all of the demon slayers I think that was the point
Drum demon looked so bad ass though even if he just stood there
I did not expect such a bad take on Muichiro like this I'm actually flabbergasted.
Love breathing doesn't make Mitsuri's sword bendy...it was specially designed for her because of her abnormal flexibility and muscle strength.
Haven't watched the new season yet but I read the manga. You didn't bring during Muichiro flashback's the demon slayer crop trying to recruit them and his brother said no. That interaction is very important to the character.
Are you eventually gonna do what you did with the other Slayers/Demons? Breaking down their moves from the show and creating a moveset?
Interesting points. Ha. He is actually my favorite Hashira and has been since reading the manga!
nah you did not say he is the weakest Hashira when you have read the manga any one else in that fight and injurie them like he was they would most likely not have kept fight (infinity castle arc)
She has the strength to wield a sword with so much weight cuz she is just stronger than everyone. She can't swim cuz shes too heavy btw
there's a butterfly effect tho and I think in my humble opinion Muichiro made the right choice,
1.if Muichiro wasn't there he wouldn't be able to throw the new sword to Tanjiro and possibly Hantengu could've escaped.
2.if we're going for numbers of people dying then who would've known how many would die if Hantengu escapes
3.haganezuka would've died, god knows what'll happen in the last few arcs if Tanjiro doesn't hv his sword or a diff quality of sword
4.sunrise countdown and infinity castle could turn out differently if Muichiro didn't regain his memory
just food for thought tho don't go for my head ;-;
It's good thinking. But I maintain that swordsmith village > 3 swordsmiths. They lose it, it's game over. Hatengu escaping is nothing compared to it
Also his brain was kinda foggy as well, and he took medicine and shit from shinobu trying to get better, he wasnt really in his best mind until he got his memories back and everything became more clear to him, he didn't just default as an ass hole. He saw the situation and he was trying to do his best for overall but ended up forgetting about the other consequences it could have on the others around it
Muichiro is a prodigy and will be even stronger
A corpse cant get stronger
Yea sure...

She dominated against Zohakuten what more did you want?
Michiro was never suppose to fill the jerk role of the hashira that just aims to get the job done, that's Sanemi. The guy that stabbed the heroine multiple times like a sadist, laughing at Tanjiro while doing so and had zero compassion for Tanjiro's situation, despite himself having been in almost the same situation before himself.
Exactly. Plus he's horrible to Giyu for literally no reason
@@ravenr0cks its cuz he thinks that giyu thinks hes better than him
Obanai and Sanemi fit that role much better of being jerks and bullies hell even tengen and giyu come off as hypocritical at first and insane they're all crazy until you get to know them shinobu rengoku and mitsuri the most reasonable when you first meet them lol!
Nah
I think you missed something
He didn't follow kotetsu to save those guys.

Thank YOU
No one has time to read that shit.
I like his character change, if you want that cold hearted logical character youll love the snake hashira
Gyokko, is a character that the mangaka wanted people to hate, especially with the fact that his backstory isn’t even in the manga, but I can see how without gyokko having a backstory it just enforces the fact of how evil he truly was.
I’m sorry globku but I can’t agree with this one Muichiro lost his right bc it’ll say like a mental illness that’s is in real life nd he didn’t have a personality didn’t know about him so he was a “mean” person but in reality he was a person you’ll call a dull person someone who has no emotions or come off as a jerk but is a blunt person after encountering Tanjiro uses talk no jutsu in demon slayer form which triggered a hints to his past which can happen in real life once he regain thoses Memories he was able to regain who he was a person i like to call his character someone who forgets their true self which again can happen in rl but ppl explained his backstory better then me
Ah yes. Like real life. Well, it's not like I used to be a psychologist
I agree that this season has the worst hashira but it's mitsuri for me
I understand what Globku is talking about and I want to go over some points that he talks about in the video to put everything in a better light
- First off.
I'm learning for an exam tomorrow and got severely distracted
oops.
The show is not bad just because of one plothole, otherwise, a lot of good shows would be considered bad haha
Overall, very good analysis! You should do a video on it to explain your reasoning to a broader audiences. That would help lots of peoples understand Muichiro's character.
But tbh it was the right choice at the end of the day. If tokito goes to save the village and fight upper 4 then gyokko is gonna head there and you'll have 2 upper moons fighting together wich makes the chances of survival really low even if kanroji arrives.
the L you have taken is a huge disapointment
In the anime and manga they say that the sword was made that way for mitsuris unique and flexible body as well as her fighting style because she wasn't fit to a breathing style like flame breathing. the sword and love breathing was created by her to use the max capability of her body.
still one of the best hashira in my opinion
Ngl every reason glob gave i either disagreed with or loved him for that purpose lol
I think it’s perfectly reasonable for his subconscious to summon his brother when he lost his memories as an “attempt to get back what was lost”
And when he regained his memories his true personality spilled back out.

Love the opinions, and I love the video but…. Muichiro is still my fav, Globku.

LMFAO
"love breathing makes your sword bendy?" What are you talking about💀
Well I do not agree with any of your points to be honest.

Hot take globku is great with the takes except for this one
This man is ignoring Sanemi's entire existance to roast a fourteen years old emo kid, and I love it
Honestly, I don't think that having amnesia made Muichiro a jerk by default because he lost his kindness, nor that he downloaded his brother's personality into his mind.
Its good that he went with kotestu, If he fought the fish gyokko (upm5) would kill everybody either way. If Mitsuri fought gyokko She wouldve lost.
So that means everyone wouldve died If Muichiro didnt do that
I think it’s very interesting that you admit that you didn’t initially understand the intent of the author most people got then doubled down on your bad take.
Even if it’s a terrible take that dismisses a lot of the plot beats laid in front of you I think you’re entitled to your opinion.
You must be mistaken, because at no point did I say I didnt understand the intent. I did understand it. I just think the logic is flawed
