If you want a quiet life Hooton Levitt is perfect and in a great location - I imagine difficult in severe winters though, used to be my favourite route from laughton en le morthen to maltby via brookhouse/hooton levitt.
The Private wood land belongs to the Haywood family who have farmed there for years. The original farmhouse is the one you see @ 3.38 in the video. The new farmhouse is behind that, it was a barn which was converted about 15 ish years ago.The village was an iron age fort . @ 1:30 in the video looking out towards Slade Hooton the small copse behind the pylon is the peak of another small hill on the south side of which once stood a roman villa and you still find bits of roman grey ware pottery when the field to the left of the copse is ploughed.
