this right here is history in the paintball community and one of the most intense years of paintball. just to watch this video is a honor to see how far paintball has come
It is nice to see two big names in today's industry ,Bob Long From Bob Long Technologies and Dave Youngblood From DYE, play together as team mates in the iron men!
Imagine going back in time with a Ripper/g6r and a DM3+ and showing Bob and Dave what they end up creating
Me as a 93 baby did not get to play this type of paintball but I miss the sportsmanship of yesteryear
Love these videos. Started paintball in 97, was pretty much like this. The way it should have stayed. Glad they are trying to bring back Mech tournaments in woods n mounds. The flashy minigun speedball didnt put paintball in the Olympics or beside the NHL, NFL, NBA, etc. and probably never will. Keep it on the woods. However, i really was disappointed they stopped televising it. I think there would have been enough of a following of viewers if even once a month, six months, maybe even yearly telecast to make an hour long highlights show with some commercials of Paintball sponsors or pro shops in there. Id have tuned in. Guess RUclips wins.
playing in thr 90's was so much fun. i got started in spring of 98'. back when scenario paintball was king.

This is amazing footage. I started playing paintball in 1991 near Columbus Georgia. It was a sand field filled with bunkers topped by old car tires. By 1993 we were playing near Fort Benning with a bunch of Rangers and various people from the southeast. Man does this bring back some memories!!

Funny, you watch the guys of today and it's curse words every few seconds, this is straight up sportsmanship right here uplifting his teammates! :) My how the times have changed in 21 years!
You can see how much stuff can change. Technology, gear, quality, rules, safety equipment, fields, tactics, even the people act different.
None of it for the better , sadly.
Mand'alor you're not thinking straight maybe. It's safer now, I think it packs more action and the rules are better in some cases
@@cbb6278 None of it? Equipment at least is 100 times better. Fields is subjective, there are still great woodsball fields today and speedball can be fun for different reasons. And have you been to a field recently? Some of the friendliest and best people I know I met at paintball

I miss this type of play, woodsball without electros
I went back to mechanical semi auto markers. I even use a 50 round hopper. I have way more fun and you realize you dont need 2000 rounds of paint. I have no problem keeping up with anyone else. It actually forced me to change my style of play for the better.

Lord have mercy such sportsmanship!! This place is right next to the current "Old Town" in Kissimmee, about 15 to 20 mins from me. I had no idea it used to be there! I know about World Cup here by the Gaylord Palms but had no idea they used to play paintball right next to Old Town, I need to check out the grounds sometime. Thanks for the piece of local paintball history!

Bob put on some weight last I saw. I don't know if he plays anymore. He still makes some amazing markers though.
Got myself a 68 Automag a few years back and went to the local paintball field. I had so many stares and people asking questions about it. The gun was older than most players there. Some random kid told his friends I had a silencer on my gun lol
I think I was at this event. Good times.

Really wish there were paintball tournaments with a very strict BPS and loadout. Been a paintball instructor for 15 years and a serious player for 6 but really dislike the "waterhose" style paintball has become.

Back when removing your face mask was “total operator professional”….. then these idiots started taking shots to the teeth, face masks came right back, LOL
I played with a local team that thought they were “pro’s” and I was in a shoot out with its captain, I threw a rope from my Automag that hit him right in the mouth. I felt bad but you don’t wear a face mask you take chances, he took a chance and lost. I yelled at him “why the F aren’t you wearing a face mask?!!!!” while he was washing his mouth out and giving me the stink-eye, he just looked at me like “duhh, ‘cause I’m a professional man!”, I shook my head and kept walking to my staging area…. 🙄

today's player's no class,and wipers its so funny to see the macdev,luxe,dye posers get shot bye a tippman,they wipe and cheat so much the sport is dead,all they do is shot paint randomly and hope to kill,lol
Playing in tournaments and scenarios I get to travel a lot. I run in to cheaters all the time. I know a few teams that when they do their practice they practice cheating.
I agree I use and lv1 but if I get hit I call it and I also play Gravity with my lv1 just got a trilogy cant wait to use it in a game
I saw a few teams that cheated back then, too... only a few mind.
Tournament paintball has always been a shit show.
