Paintball legend Russel Maynard explains some of the differences in the paintball guns in the early 90s, as well as face/head protection. Cool old school stuff!
i finally bought an autococker about 2 years before i got out of paintball, i still have it, and I dont think i will ever sell it. If i go play again i just wanna bring it to the ref like "hey i think my gun ran out of batteries" and see what happens.
It's amazing how the technology was back then and how expensive it was just for a simple marker. I play myself every weekend and just cannot believe how the sport started. Thanks for the great video!
@SJW Slayer III yeah it was cold the survival game and not paintball. Also paintballs back then had like oil based paint in them I believe that wouldn't come out of close. They also wasn't environment safe as well. When they changed paint ball in the early 90s maybe late 80s to be non toxic an machine washable is when the sport saw a bigger influx of people wanting to play. I was too young back then but I read up on it she I got to the proper age.
@SJW Slayer III well with low amount of paintballs and old primitive markers like that "surviving" was pretty much the only option. Man I wish I could go back and play like I used to. A few years ago I bought a bunch of paintball gear but I never played.
I didn't get into paintball until late 90s but seeing this video brings me back to the good old days before I got into the sports and I would buy paintball magazines. Around the time I got into paintball the Tippmann 98 came out. Wished it was my first marker but I went with some cheap pump marker. P.S. you got yourself a new subscriber.
I started playing in 1998, but I remember the old Internet was full of information about these markers, and pictures of these old tournaments. Even though I started later, I feel very connected to this era.
@@dopemopey when when and where I grew up having the internet and owning a PC wasn't on the top of my family's priorities. I do remember going over to my cousin's house and we play rainbow six rogue spear, axis & allies, and AOE2 online till way hours in the morning on 2 PCs.
+Fips Arschmuskel Glad you like them. I'll keep them coming as I find the time. I have so much more to post! Keep the old school golden years of paintball alive!!!!
I remember being a kid in the 90's drooling over the automags and autocockers!!! I couldn't afford them back then....

Ahhh, back in the day lol. “For long range shooting.” Even though the velocity must be a set velocity huh lol
Lol I remember when I bought my first bushmaster and it was 375 and I was like omg!!
Most people back then ( and some now) have the "OMG!" reaction when shooting the Bushmasters of yore, as they were quite good...
I have the same unibody phantom in red up on the wall, I just got rid of the m16 grip for a phantom 45 grip in red
Aww yes before safety was introduced to paintball. He made to fire 2 shots with 3 remaining and point it right at the camera man 🤣
I actually made the first fully automatic paintball gun in 1985 but I never showed anyone
