It's not just Kashmiri's , owning a gun and getting licence for it is extremely hard all over India, that's why we don't have a good weapon's industry. Even if you do have a license, then also because of all the laws you will regret having it. One such law is that people with guns should submit it in their police station during any festivals, during election or any VIP's arrival into your locality.

@Umang Singh k-414 the reason we love guns is because it’s part of our culture. With muskets, cannons, and a bit of help we fought off an empire that control a third of the world at that time. Then in 1812 that same empire tried again and where fought off with a large militia and a United military working in unison. in a short time the war ended and the Americans found there ultimate strategy to fend off any empire and any nation, lots and lots of regular Joe’s with easy to maintain guns. And In the civil war both sides of the conflict decided to take their military issued rifles and revolvers back home to protect there families and themselves on the frontier. Then the importance of guns skyrocketed. Overtime the nation got bigger and better guns and we got the reputation that we were gun nuts because nearly everyone could get a gun (which I’m glad we got the reputation.) then with that reputation it added a psychological element to our defense granting us the ability for US citizens to have guns optionally (turns out sadly 3/8s of the country hates guns)and the rest of the world thinks that we’re still as well armed as we were 200 years ago. In fact the Japanese in world war 2 didn’t want to attack mainland American because a top general said that there is an American with a rifle behind every blade of grass.
I hope you have a very good day and thank you for reading. I’m trying to refine my creative writing skills and this was good practice. I also hope that you learn a good history lesson today 👍

And if the guns craftsman thinks that the barrel might explode or so on proof-testing then how they think to sell it to people. If the craftsman are not confident on what they make, how come people will have faith.

Firstly - Kashmir was not always a Muslim majority region. Millions of Hindus were forcefully driven out of their homes & executed.
Secondly - Kashmir is not the only region with strict gun laws. The gun laws which apply to Kashmir are more or less same throughout India. There was no point in you stating that strict gun laws are helping the government in preventing an uprising.
Thirdly - There is no such government in India as Hindu Nationalist government. You are here creating a sense of doubt in minds of people who do not understand the affairs of India.
And Finally - Kashmir occupied by India? Seriously? Let me correct you here - Kashmir was, Kashmir is and Kashmir will always be an Integral part of India.

Since the very start of the partition of the British Raj in 1947 Kashmir was Muslim majority with 77% of the population, and what of before way back? It was a Muslim majority for decades prior as well. And your point of Kashmiri Pandits isn’t very viable as most estimates put the official death count of the 1990 Kashmiri Pandits at 399, less than 400. Also on the forcefully driven out part, they didn’t leave cause the general populace ran them out of town, it was due to an increase of militant groups in the regions as was the trend around the 1990s as bloodshed spilling outside of Afghanistan spilt into the mountains of Kashmir. So only 399 were killed, way less then your claim of millions and furthermore Kashmir’s prince Hari Singh actually killed 20,000 to 235,000 of the majority Muslim population alongside Paramilitary forces in the 1947 massacres. So compare 399 to 20000-235000, it isn’t comparable at all. Also millions isn’t even the current amount of people driven out, that’s a huge exaggeration on your behalf. The region was for centuries and still is Muslim majority and the events of the 1990s cannot be equivalent not comparable to what the Hindu minority ruler Hari Singh committed against his own countrymen.

    • @xix___3475

Your final point that Kashmir was and is and always will be an integral part of India is completely wrong, No Indian can recount 10 cities from Kashmir, speak any Kashmiri language, recount any Kashmiri landmark. You don’t speak our language, don’t know our customs, our languages, our cities, our landmarks. Indians love claiming Kashmir is a integral part but can’t mention anything that came out of Kashmir without resorting to their internet browser. So what do we learn here? You can’t claim Kashmir is an integral part because it has contributed nothing to India. 93% of the population does not want to be Indian either. You’re not Kashmiri so stop speaking on the state of Kashmir that ultimately has nothing to do with you.

    4. Kashmiri people want to be a part of radical Islamist country, not a secular state, they killed the diversity of the region and forced mass exodus of Hindus, Sikhs Jains and buddhs in the area.

3)Nobody is denying that the military is there to protect people.
      4) Kashmiris want to be free. They don't like Pakistan either, they want a sovereign nation. I don't want Kashmir to go away but I can understand why they want that. Just like naxalites in the east they see human rights voilations by our forces and resent our presence.

It misspreads information that they are being discriminated in this context when they are not. Most of them can't pass security clearance because someone related to them has been suspect of aiding to fire.
      2. Appropriate terms should be Just Kashmir, Pok and Cok that we lost because of a weak and foolish government then who wanted to play politics in both the countries to create a buffer. Rightfully so, for that time, entirety of Kashmir belongs to Republic of India, knowing that still US and UK went to aid Pak because they wanted a destabilize Indian Subcontinent to avoid power shift to Asia. We are paying for it most of Kashmiri people.
      3. All of Kashmiri majority are denying the positive effects and reason of why military needed to be positioned in Entire region, cross border terrorism and funding and training militants to bleed India with thousand cuts caused such a big step. Definitely it all is not pros but we have to live with consequence. Remember there were other Kashmiri people too, that were driven off years ago from their motherland because they were of different religions and no army was deployed to reinstate them.
      4. Freedom doesn't work like that, any state, region, district unhappy can say we want freedom from the nation, there are geopolitical reasons for boundaries, it is safe defensible position much needed for Nation. If they want freedom that's mutiny to rest of the nation, and you do not just get it, you earn it. Take weapons up, fight against army, win or die trying. That's how borders shift, not by crying because you don't like the flavour of your icecream. Naxalites don't want a nation, they want that same rules and benefits should be given to them as others while Kashmir wants different constitution as it favours them. Can't be equated
      5. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is Hindu nationalist party, BJP is ultra nationalist party, Muslims are members of BJP without conversion, it was formed within Jan Sangh, Muslims were permitted then also, RSS stands for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh another ultra nationalist outfit, Muslims are allowed to join under it's specialized muslim wing. Don't always believe any propaganda by right or left without research.
      P.s. I ain't a RSS member, nor a BJP worker.

@@01tj007 1) Kashmiris definitely face more trouble getting a fire arm because of their history. Not saying it's wrong, but it's the truth.
      2) They are talking about Indian part of Kashmir so saying Indian occupied is factually correct. It also tells that the people aren't in PoK. Saying Kashmir isn't specific.
3)You are missing the point, Kashmiris don't care about the army patrolling the border but the homeland forces constantly harrassing them.
      4) so you yourself are saying they should fight for it? Kashmir was promised separate constitution yet they accept almost everything except for certain exceptions. Similar situation was arranged for other states too, like in northeast where the Nagas didn't want to be part of India and even to this day fight to be free from India. The end goals of Naxalites is different, but that doesn't mean their basic reason is. Maoists and Naxalites don't care who rules as long as they get their way while Kashmiris want to rule themselves.
5)Just because muslims are part of BJP that doesn't mean they aren't hindu nationalist. Their members have openly supported hindutva terrorism and called to form a hindu rashtra.
