- New Boy came at the exact perfect time to lead the youthful charge in hip hop on the internet, being in position to have major success and blow up right under everyone’s noses. Not to mention when they came in they came loaded with many things being binged watched on the internet and RUclips at the time, which was obviously they presented themselves as the “New” youthful thing to be a part of, fully equipped with bright colors and prepubescent voices. But most importantly they were coming with a new style and a new dance move as well. Both they weren’t necessarily the creators of, but as far as making it popular, New Boyz did that. Yes Lil Wayne could be seen from time to time in 2007 wearing skinny jeans, and his influence may no question be a part of it, but New Boyz took it and plastered it all over the walls of hip hop, that this was the new wave. Those baggy Jeans were cool, but skinnies is where it’s at. Yet they never get the credit for said influence and I believe for these 3 reasons. Why “New Boyz” Didn’t Grow Into The Credit They Deserve! Stunted Growth Music

Can't deny New Boyz had influence in Hip Hop. They walked so Rae could run.
Don’t forget when homie tried to beef with J Cole 😂💀
they went through the prince rakim phase lol
they look like the record labels made them up
😂 these dudes are so lame.
Do B2K
I agree they created the "skinny jeans Era" not kanye west
Kayne West and Lil Wayne followed.
Facts
New boys influenced a whole generation
Facts
Now every man looks like a 🔥 homosexual!
Aye nah the jerking era🔥🔥🔥🔥 you had to be there. Life was simple and fun.
Shit was trash
Everyone was on the same page
They closed out the ring tone era
No because “Teach Me How to Dougie”, “The Cat Daddy” and “Don’t Drop That Thun” still happened.
If you were partying at HBCU's or in Cali around this time you knew more of their songs. They weren't all mainstream but they had the right crowd and audience at the time.
Exactly. Cali was coming with a youthful movement.
@@MaxPotentialGreatnessyup I lived in Hemet back then that town popped off with jerkin crews
Tie me down is still my jam to this day… TO THIS DAY!
Are you currently incarcerated?
@@thomas-ol3ni ….no but I might let you handcuff me if you ask nicely.
Mine too. Perfectly showcased Ray J as an artist. That was his pocket, cause he really could not sing. He had another song that he was singing in the rain, can't remember the name right now though, that was great.
@@stuntedgrowthmusicLol one wish
Facts!!!!!!! Woooooomp wooooomp womp womp womp!!!!!!!!!
In 2009 I was fading out of the mainstream rap after seeing Notorious in theaters and around that time I was expanding my musical growth in the rock/Metal scene and the underground hip hop scene in my late teen years
It’s sad cause at least they could rap. They’re better than 85% of these new rappers out now.
The forefathers of fruity swag era smh 🤦🏽♂️
That’s disrespectful and disingenuous yall old head dudes know damn well all them dudes wasn’t on No sus shit stop pushing that narrative
Hahahahahaha...not a great title to possess..
😂😂😂😂
Sounds like Gangstalicious from The Boondocks😂😂
Nooooo man! 😂😂😂
Oh god, what a time to be alive. I
nah bruh lets be real, fashion was dumpster juice back in those days lol
Don’t forget the wooden chains, 3D/lensless glasses and literally anything from karmaloop😂
@@guikatinskas hell yeah it was! That shit makes me cringe 💀
@@SODMGGOKU yessir stepped out of the jerking phase right into the preppy phase 😂 fuckin Sperrys, Abercrombie, American Eagle, Hollister. That was a cringe time too!
@@SODMGGOKU tbh I still buy most of my jeans from American Eagle lol. It’s good clothes! I just can’t wear the stuff that has “HOLLISTER” or “AERO” plastered right across is like a college T
you should do "The Pack" where Lil B came from
Nobody listened to them
@@Brian00007lmaooo
that Cricketz beat goes in 🔥🔥
Memory unlocked
Tuff 🔥💯
I thought the intro was gone never end lol. The longest one yet
Skip!
This shit just made me feel so old
It really do I was listening to them in elementary school now I’m 23 like damn bro
Crazy because we all in our 30s now 😅 I miss these days of skinny jeans, skateboards and vans…high school years 😜
Ahhh yes highschool memories
You need to do a stunned growth episode on Hopsin and his label Funk Volume
Legacy was spitting in that little clip in the beginning but I do miss this era it was the perfect time to be a pre teen /teenager 🥺
I remember going to Scream Tour and the New Boyz’ portion of the show was canceled because they had a fight with someone.
They had a fight with the boyband Hamilton Park I remember that story
The skinny jean/ cardigan era was a wild time! Lol 😂
The group Audio Push please. I believe Hitboy was associated with them. Diggy simmons would be a good one.
Oh you gotta do The Rangerz now 👏🏾
Seen the other day they trynna make a comeback too
Really?? Lol that's interesting, but I don't think they can come back fa real without the dancing. Music was cool, but too basic
*Can you do Audio Push* or were they never popular enough? I feel like those were the guys that truly carried the jerking movement
Use to have Shine on repeat
I had their mixtape and was so confused why people weren't listening to them
They were definitely popular enough and the most relevant rappers in the jerk scene outside of Cold Flamez
More like ThemPrangers did
They are definitely underrated their music got me through high school
"Crickets "... that was a banger!
I would love to see Tinashe featured on an episode, she's still a great underrated arrist!
Yeah I love her. Definitely stunted growth tho
She definitely needs an episode. I used to love her but she’s been on some weird ish since RocNation picked her up smh
@@briv2403 what weird ish? Have you seen Doja Cat these days LOL
@@Historicutuber yeah I have. But I also seen Tinashe do a music video playing in blood. Don’t disregard it because that’s your fave lol
@@briv2403 oh I never saw that one lol
Do a video on the New West movement from 2006/07-2010/11
I feel like the only rappers that survived that 1st generation of internet rappers is lil b (SOLID cult fan base, trailblazed the DIY rapper through RUclips thing after souljaboy and drops consistently now whether if its actually good or not is opinionated lol) wiz khalifa (blew up n really the STAR of that era and stayed relevant since) and curren$y (stayed underground but consistently drop’s quality)
The Dance Central days. Used to kill it on the Kinect.
Waka Flocka and lex luger was 4 reason lol.......cause they changed the rap game in 2010 🎯🔥💯🤣😂
Jerkin Ain't Dead i love those days
For good or bad I guess, but you're right. They absolutely don't get the credit for changing the culture. Dude's even stopped wearing all the baggy ass clothes and now we all pretty much wear skinny jeans. At least they were ONE of the influences. But yeah, I remember actual ass dance battles in High school where we formed a huge circle and did Jerk dance battles 💀💀😭. But I'm not gonna lie, this was my Sophomore year and it was ABSOLUTELY FIRE 😂
The Gothic/Emo crowd did it first
they had a couple songs and was never serious. the clothes from that time was crazy, i remember the rue 21, polo, hot topic, skinny jeans era. By 2010 we was on Wiz Khalifa, J Cole, Drake, Wale and Kendrick . Then dubstep came and went. i hated that shit.
dude i fucking hated dubstep 😂😂
Yg was the only artist to elevate from the jerk era, turned jerk music into ratchet music and thats how the Westcoast stormed back onto the music scene.
@@unplugdsessions8684that’s true and you could tell when you put out his debut album and he grew from there. You hit it on the head with that one
Yeah I was a big follower of them at the end of high school/beginning of college. One of their most streamed songs is actually FM$. They had a mixtape called the Foolie Tape in 2012 that was decent and introduced me to Dizzy Wright. They broke up shortly after that. When they hit they hit, but when they didn't their music was slick terrible lol. I think they had a great run for what they were. They were able to pull out about 5 hit songs when other groups/acts similar to them usually get 1. Legacy had a song in 2014 called "Schemin" that I still play today, and that's about it.
Yeah. 106 n park pushed them heavy!
Excellent video as always. I’d love to see a video on Sean Price (Heltah Skeltah)
This era reminds me of four lokos
😂😂😂 no bs !!
And having a good ass 4 hours a sleep after the club to make it ON TIME to work
Damn miss this new boys 🗣️
The group UNI, had a song called beautiful day, that I use til this day as my alarm. Also, the kid Daytona from new york I believe. Had a song "Never be the same" that made some waves.
Do Chamillionaire!
He already did
I challenge you to do Tyra B.
New stunted growth, Trina and Inspecktah deck from Wu Tang
Do da whole Memphis rap 90s era
They was Cali dudes who shoulda went to ATL like Rae Sremmurd 💯
ATL would’ve never prevailed, had they let them claim the A.
You should do the group U-N-I next. They were a dope duo from Cali in the mid 2000's
I think he could but it’d be better for him to cover that era of the “new west” (06-10)
Blu, UNI, Fashawn, Nipsey, Pac Div etc etc
Makes logical sense both artists flopped. They brought fruity 🌈 skinny jeans to the culture.
True story
Dude , hip hop always been fruity , Dj Grandmaster Flash and Africa Bambooty was 70's version fruity loops wearing weird shit😂
They was getting sturdy lol
“If candy was a planet I can make her star burst “ 😮good 1
New boys got everyone using skinny jeans 😂
Can you do the ATL rappers Drama and Miracle
can you do Audio Push next?
Roscoe dash
Trash
07:06 JC cold for having that pic up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
wale or any of mayback music group
*Maybach* 😁✌🏻
That first Maybach Music group album was a banger!
@@thelightseeker94 That's the Self Made Vol. 1 compilation album. 💥
Do a video on the Hyphy movement and why it faded out of the mainstream after only one year.
They were 4 that young generation at the time I was coming outta high school and it was lit party wise...I'm not gonna lie though I been seeing the young kids on tik tok kinda bringing this wave back (because this wave is old school to them)
What you think of the top 50 rap groups? I was thinking you might’ve called into the Star report to give input.

Tinashe came and went. The new gen fw Kali Uchis and Doja Cat now.

Am I the only one who skipped straight to stunt # 1 because I don’t really care about the New Boyz 🤷♂️
IDC about them either. I don't give New Boyz credit for being the ones to get nigg@s wearing skinny jeans *that* was definitely Lil Wayne. Nigg@s was on Wayne's nuts more than me. And I was so pressed for Wayne even my teacher gave me the magazine With Wayne in the pink Bape hoodie to me free. Niggas started wearing skinny jeans and dreads because of Wayne. Period.
MC Ren
Do Mac dre
