    The concept of 3d printed clothes is both really cool and unique and with how many different filaments you can use in a printer you definitely make something comfortable

      No you cant make it comfortable with just a 3d printer and a random filament alone. you have to have a flexible filament

    I have seen a few cosplayers use 3D printers to make scales or spikes for costumes by printing a few layers, stopping the printer, putting down a layer of tulle then starting the printer back up to finish the shape.

      That works much better than making hinges and fitted pieces honestly. Its still very brittle unles you use more expensive materials

    A lot of cosplayers use 3-D printing, too! It’s really helpful for everything from armor pieces, to props, to outfit decals.

      I’m currently printing a whole set of Mandalorian armor. When it’s all sanded and painted you can’t even tell it was 3d printed, it’s really cool

    I adore Iris van Herpens clothes. One hundred percent clothes not as fashion to wear but as a medium of art when it comes to her work

      Absolutely, she’s truly one of a kind. They have a quote that goes along the lines of “If what we made seems like it was made by a machine, we found a way to make it by hand and if it seems human made, we found a way to make it by a machine”.
      It does lead me to question, if someone recreates an Iris van Herpen dress through 3D printing, is that copyright infringment, should that be allowed. I guess the future will have to figure that out if it hadn’t yet.

    I really want to see you do this. The 3D printing of garments is still being worked on in the industry. The major thing would be if we could dissolve the clothing back into useable material again for a new print job. Saving on waste.

    An issue I would have with 3D clothes is: would they be able to sustain weather and wash?

      It would probably depend on the filament you used. Most filaments are some form of plastic, so probably

      PETG filament or PLA+ are both versatile and weather resistant, so I think those would be the go-to for clothing

    I used to work for a 3d printing company and have worn 3d printed shoes. Wood is more comfy. Chain mail and mesh was cool tho.

    3D Print clothes, would they survive in a heavy storm or in blistering heat 👀 (Kekw) It's an Interesting concept, as for the durability & comfort, wouldn't be so sure on that category. I'll stick to 3D Printing action figures, models, & downloading armour. Pretty Neat Short & Loop, Keep It Up Bro 🖨️ 😎 👊

    Yes please! It’s not like I dedicate hours to finely tune all the knobs on my 3D Printer, so if I can pay that off by printing myself some clothes, I am sure that will make my significant other happy!

    Clothes are made of synthetic materials already so it would feel the same once it becomes more popular as of right now id say its probably not breathable.
    Theres flexible filaments so it can move like clothes

      Even modified high-end ones are slow compared to replicator tech BUT they're SOOO much faster than unmodified low to mid-range printers.

    3d printing is SO COOL! I’ve done a little myself, but I can’t get the hang of overhangs. If anyone wants to get into it, I recommend starting with some pins. No overhangs!

    It depends on the type of filament or resin that you use but for example if you use pla (the most used filament) it would be not flexible at all

    Finally,i can make myself shoes that fits.
    For context,i wear size 14 and 15(British size),so i do not find shoes. And when i do they are really pricey. So i can now just pint myself some for just a few bucks and maybe a few days,if the printer is big enough,and if i can get a design that is comfortable

    You can but its not waterproof, because the way its printing.
    You need additional post processing to make it usable.
    Random thought, as much as 3d printing is popular today, why there still no official icon for it. We have icons for 3d glasses.

    i feel like they'd probably not be breathable at all since i doubt it's possible to 3d print w/ a natural fiber, you'd have to use some form of plastic
