i was thinking about this for awhile , when ichigo leaves his body he becomes a spirit or Ghost , what if Yoh From shamanking use ichigo as an oversoul , they would be really strong
Bankai is way better, the potential is limitless, and it has insane variety. - You have Bankais that function like Domain Expansions from JJK. - You have Bankais that function like Stands from JoJos. - You have Bankais that function like Genjutsu from Naruto. - You have Bankais that function like Devil Fruits & Haki from One Piece. - You have Bankais that function like Hakai from Dragon Ball. - You have Bankais that function like Magic from Fairy Tail / Black Clover / Magi. - You have Bankais that even function like Modern-Day weaponry like Nukes & Missiles. And the best thing about Bankai is that Zanpakuto Spirits can Evolve with the user.

Well obtaining an Bankai is already hard so obtaining an TRUE bankai is way harder and probably would take Thousands to millions of years to even unlock in bleach. Unless you’re a pure genius or have raw strong strength.

@@Toshiro_the_Goatwho told you that it took 3-6 years ??? No, it takes on average 10 years for a captain level shinigami master bankai (heavy on the captain level), and it can take upwards of hundreds of years to fully master it
Most Shinigami who get bankai get their True Bankai when they get it. It's just that in Ichigo's case, he was wielding a Zanpakutō created from the remnants of Rukia's Reiryoku, and not from an Asauchi. In Renji's case, it was because he was given HALF of his Bankai's name. Hence why Renji's bankai name went from Hihiō Zabimaru to Sōō Zabimaru, whilst for Ichigo, it still stayed the same, with only his sword's appearance (and amount) changing
@SomeoneThatExists-rj5oo Ichigo's original Zanpakuto was made from White inside him. Oetsu explains this when he was saying that Ichigo never had an Asauchi and how White was made by Aizen the same way he makes Asauchi (by layering souls one on top of the other).

@@shade7014actually reality marbles were one of the inspiration too gege is a huge fan if fate even got one of his art of Cu lancer in a fate art museum back in 2019
I was surprised when it got pointed out to me. I grew up with Dragon Ball Z, Yugioh, and Yu Yu Hakusho in the 90s, and when I figured out what Bleach’s premise was, I started thinking about it as Yu Yu Hakusho’s little brother. I loved Bleach, so I hated how much people hated on it. Now it turns out that most of the popular anime airing today took heavy inspiration from Bleach. My mind was blown.
Kyoraku's bankai is one of my favorites because of how it relates to his Shikai in a simultaneously unpredictable yet perfectly explainable way when you think about it, it's *PLAY* the Shikai being children's games but the bankai being an adult play i.e theater Like Soifon getting a missile it's more in line with her actual personality vs the face she puts on for her shikai and goes from an intended 2-hit kill to a one shot
A one-shot that quite vividly calls attention to herself, revealing that at her core she wants to be noticed and acknowledged. Which is hilarious considering she’s the head of the Soul Society’s assassins’ branch.
I love both techniques regardless of who came first, but if i were to choose, i would pick Bankai. There's just something very poetic about the idea of your essential nature being the core of your power and self acceptance unlocking your true power. if you acknowledge yourself and what you can do, there's nothing you can't achieve. And those who don't believe in themselves, can never attain their true potential. To me that concept is beautiful and meaningful.
For the most part, I prefer Bankai, but I do like how rare domain expansions are when compared to bankai. Not only do fewer people have them, but they're also used less, so when we actually sed someone use it it feels more impactful.
I think it also works with what both stories are showing, in jjk we focus on humans and the curses and sorcerers who are way above the rest, and we can see only a few among them who far surpass the others. Meanwhile, in bleach we focus on the beings who surpasses the rest. If our main character in bleach focuses on someone who's among the ranked/file shinigamis, we might have received fewer Bankai reveals too
Honestly Bankai are actually pretty rare.. The only people that have them are the captains, Ichigo, Rukia, and Renji. In the grand scheme of things that’s a pretty small amount.
That's y I prefer domains more. Characters in Bleach will pull out a bankai when they don't need to, especially Ichigo, so they don't feel as special anymore. Domains have more weight to them cos they're actually a final resort to try and end a fight.
Honestly, Domain Expansions more resemble Reality Marbles from Fate than Bankai. In fact, the explanations and details for both are near-identical. I would quibble with the idea that JJK's going to have a lasting cultural impact for years to come. Not to bash on JJK specifically, I just don't think we live in that kind of culture anymore with such sustained attention spans. The world will continue to turn and content creators and meme-makers will move on to - probably - Kagurabachi, and we'll have similar conversations about it in five years.
I love the Bankai for characterization but I love the imagination part of domain expansion too I think bankai is a little more unique but domains are underrated in the way they showcase the themes of jjk
@@RandomGuy-ci9nt Actually, no. It's both in Bleach. As for JJK, the Domains don't showcase any themes. At least not all of them. A majority is just "Rule of Cool" without any meaning.

Absolute clown behaviour that is excpeted from a bleach fan.
The power boost isn't really why you pull a Domain Expansion. You mainly do it for a completely unavoidable attack that usually spells the end for your target or for the large plethora of potential abilities. Not to mention that unlike Bankai, there is a whole meta battle at the higher levels of combat around countering Domain Expansion through either domain clashes or mastering other techniques to try to counter it or protect yourself. Unlike Bankai you pretty much lose the moment your opponent pulls one and you have no strategy to deal with it.
@@joelsasmad no you have a strategy to be at it it's called use your own domain but even then I still give it to bankai as the power boost is just greater and bankai can have much better abilities than a domain like look at ichibei or senjumaru bankai

That's what's funny about new generations of kids and anime. I grew up watching anime in the 1990s during Toonami era. I saw all of the legendary anime. Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, G Gundam, Tenchi Muyo, Zoids, Pokemon, Digimon, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, etc. Most of the kids in the comments don't know half the anime I mentioned. Those were the best days for anime and cartoons. The golden era. Many of the techniques in Naruto are stolen from Dragon Ball, Power Rangers, and other anime. The same way Jujutsu Kaisen is basically a weaker copy of Bleach. Hollows are in Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen, and Domain Expansion is a weak copy of Bankai. The unfortunate part is, you have all these silly memes these days that say, "Dragon Ball copied Naruto," or "Bleach copied Jujutsu Kaisen." This is the mentality of a generation who did not watch the original anime before seeing the new anime today. In terms of power levels, Jujutsu Kaisen characters are nowhere near Bleach. The same way Bleach characters are much weaker than Dragon Ball.
It is objectively true that Jujutsu Kaisen has influence from Bleach, and while it comes down to personal opinion it is completely fair to say that Jujutsu Kaisen is weaker than Bleach. But calling it a full copy ignores the majority of the themes, artistic decisions and writing in both series. You're basically looking at the most superficial parts of both and saying "looks similar enough, it's a copy", while missing the majority of what both series have to offer. You're not just insulting JJK, you're insulting Bleach by treating it as if the only thing worth considering about it is its concept with no depth in its execution or story. Even if you don't enjoy JJK as much as Bleach you could probably at least get some enjoyment out of it, but if you're only watching it to see it do everything Bleach does then you're going to get precisely and exactly 0% of that enjoyment because, again, JJK ISN'T BLEACH. JJK takes inspiration from sources ranging from action movies to Buddhism to Hunter x Hunter to gay romance manga. But when it has like 3 things inspired by or even just vaguely similar to Bleach suddenly it's like "oh no, we got Bleach 2 here guys". Also why are we even talking about the power levels of characters? That literally has nothing to do with which series is better, it just helps to set the stage for what direction the battles will go and what aspects of the fights the creator wants to focus on. Anybody with a brain can see that JJK characters are weaker than Bleach characters. On one hand you have people with magic swords fighting in spirit realms and on the other you have two guys fist fighting in a bathroom. Those two stories will focus on very different aspects of their fights and power systems and set a very different tone.
Bankai easily. Your shinigami powers are influenced by your own personality and desires. Even if you can't 100% control what your ability is, it'll still 99% be something you'd like. Even people who hate or dislike their Zanpakuto or Bankai like, Umichika, Soi Fon, and Shuhei still have it to where it matches their personality. I'd 100% select a Zanpakuto.
As much as i love Bankai and no doubt it is a most iconic power boost aside from Super Saiyan. Aside from power scaling, I love Domain Expansion more in term of fighting because of its weaknesses, which making the fight more interesting. No matter how much Hax your DE got, once it got broken from the outside or the opponents overcome you with his more Refined DE - you are screwed (except if you are Gojo/Sukuna ofc), there are variety ways to counter domain to (Hollow wicker Basket, Simple Domain, Heavenly Restriction, High level of RCT). Also Domain can be modify by the user by using Binding vow (Barrier strength, Sure hit intensity, Open Barrier, Domain Range). All of that make the fight more at stake or Jumping the opponents prove necessary. But that doesn't mean Bleach fight is not better, Complexity of JJK power system is sometimes makes Gege hard to write and some fights come out as hit or miss. But at the end of the day, Bleach have more good fights than JJK for sure
bankai is the same too, remember yumichika? he purposefully called his zanpakuto with the wrong name to hide his true shikai. theoretically it can be done with a bankai too, like ichigo and renji for example. bankai also has more unique weakness and drawback compared to domain expansion. let’s take byakuya’s senbonzakura kageyoshi for example, it can be countered with extremely high speed and enough durability. another example of this is komamura’s kokujo tengen myo’oh. if it’s in 1v1 especially against fast enemy then it sucks, but it’s good when facing gigantic creatures and facing hordes of enemies. another example of this is rukia’s hakka no togame, it’s so powerful that anything she touches freezes instantly. the drawback is that it freezes her blood veins which caused her not able to use it for long, in the anime rukia could barely even move after using bankai. imo the greatest example of this is yamamoto’s zanka no tachi, it has no weakness in the sense that it can burn yama himself or affect yama in a bad way. in exchange of its huge destructive power, yama can’t use it at full power (it will destroy soul society) nor too long since it will passively burn soul society
@Hymn_ Yep you have all the facts rights. But like i said this is my personal preference. Domain expansion's strength/ weakness is universal , while bankai's is more unique and situational - And i that one of many aspect i personally like ab jjk power system - basically Bleach with a twist. Which make me enjoyed my time theorializing fight in jjk weekly chapter release.
Bankai has versatility and variability, plus immaculate drip. Renji’s false bankai on Toonami got me INTO anime! JJK has bargain bin reality marbles that work on power-level tug-o-wars
One thing that is not up for debate is that the Bleach crew are collectively the drippiest mfers to ever run a block. Sure, you’ve got some folks in other series looking fresh, but that’s usually that character’s defining characteristics. Bleach characters are always rocking that Gucci.
I love how similar they are in uniqueness (your own individual power gets fully enhanced and only a very few handful can obtain these). But are still different enough such as Bankai is when the fight begins and domain expansion is when the fight ends
In keeping with Bleach’s Buddhist roots, their bankai’s names define them and explain pretty much everything about them. Like Sun Wukong’s Buddha name, The Victorious Fighting Buddha, The Enlightened who will always be Victorious. That’s what I think his name means, at least.
would just like to make a correction; Ichibeis ability to control the color black Is not his bankai, that's just something he can do, and ichimonji is just his shikai. things painted over by it lose their name. what his bankai actually does is let him etch a new name into anyone who's been painted over by ichimonji, giving them the powers and traits of that thing (example being him renaming yhwach to black ant)
your baseline explanation of domains is by its own nature incorrect. "lethal domain" refers to any domain with a sure hit, "innate domain" is exclusively the landscape of the domain, or the users innate soul, and an "open domain" is one where the sure hit targets *everything*. one: you said only gojos and sukunas are lethal domains, this is untrue, every domain besides hakari and higuruma are considered lethal. two: you said the user "imagines" who the sure hit affects, which is blatantly untrue, as then naoyas time cell moon palace wouldve hit maki in 198 three: you said only gojo and sukuna imagine they are the sole thing that can exist within their domain. you are wrong on multiple fronts, firstly, no, gojo cannot do that, his domain is limited in the same way every closed domain is in the fact that they can only hit targets with cursed energy. second, sukuna isnt the only one who can do this, as any open barrier user can, which includes kenjaku. third they themselves have restrictions, whether it be by binding vow to protect someone (sukuna) or by making contact with the user (gojo) that can prevent the sure hit from hitting you edit: the more i watch the more blatantly wrong this gets, you are not limited to aquiring a domain expansion based on your imagination, or if you see yourself as different. a domain is literally barrier technique + innate domain. literally something anyone with cursed energy can do, and something literally *everything* including inanimate objects have. the hard part about aquiring your domain is learning how to push forth your innate domain, which is why domain expansions are not common. a great example of a character who doesnt think of themselves as "different" or "better than everyone" is higuruma, whos entire cursed technique is his domain. while curses do have an easier time, its less due to the fact that they are the byproduct of human imagination (which they arent, its human fear and negative emotions) and its more to do with the fact that because of their pure cursed energy physiology, curses have an easier time accidentally pushing forth their innate domain. we see this with the finger bearer in the penitentiary, or the curses under the bridge. it literally in the story quantifies the stat boost from a domain, it says its 120% of a cursed techniques potential. the video is too wrong for me to even want to continue watching it, but ill answer the videos question. bankai 10000 times out of 100 beats domain expansion. theres so much more variety, better hax, better buffs, etc etc.
Bankai goes even deep. Some people's bankai's depeneds on the past trauma or connections they had with someone in the past. Like kaname for example his bankai is dark cause of his history with his friend.
@@faith4657This aged like milk. Plenty of characters have Domain Expansions in JJK. And those who don't can counter them/prevent the user from activating them in a similar way in Bleach (Maki, Yuki, Yuji, Kashimo, Todo, etc) Outside of that, Domains are an instant win card even WITHOUT the sure-hir effects as proven during the Dagon vs Naobito, Nanami & Maki fight where he was bodying them and only lost because Bumgumi appears and left the door open to his dad.
@@AnakinSkywalker-u5b Yes, plenty of ppl have DE in JJK. I only brought those as examples 🤦. Domain's have counters, but only if you HAVE them, like come on. An example of a domain expansion that will change the battle in your favor is dagan, who went from losing to bullying the team. Megumi saved them. Also, keep your unnecessary hate out of this discussion it makes you sound like a child. Bleach doesn't have counters to bankai's likes that, unless you are just blatantly stronger or you find a way to break their bankai's, but good luck trying to do that. When I mean counters, I mean something that can help combat them mid fight.
@@faith4657 1. You didn't bring anyone up. 2. That's what I said. Which is something only a very few number of characters have. 3. LOL, okay. After all, you must be the adult intellectual with such a shit take. 4. Way to show you barely know what you're discussing. There are plenty of opponents in Bleach who countered Bankai. Just because they don't have a "X doesn't work on me!" button like the convenient Simple Domain, doesn't make them countering it any less impressive. And no, I'm not talking about those who brute forced their way against said abilities. 5. Domains are instant win buttons. Or in Dagon's case, eventual win buttons. He was, as you mentioned, winning with ease and only lost because Megumi appears and left the door open to his dad who was the real reason they won. Otherwise they were pretty much dead even when the sure-hit effect wasn't working. And as Gojo & (Peak) Sukuna proved, their Domains are instant win buttons against anyone. Hell, even Jogo's Domain is an instant win against 99% of the verse and he just lucked out and ran into the two characters he can't use them on successfully. Point is, Domains have less characters that can counter them in JJK than Bankais have in Bleach. And it doesn't help that Domains never work due to plot which makes them lose impact, unless your name is Gojo & Sukuna, in which case your Domain will work without issue against anyone.
that was wrong in terms of domains. all domains (except some these from ancient times and those that are inherently tied to the sorcerers technique like hakaris) have the sure hit effect. Which means you are finished if your enemy opens it up. Now the grade of lethality may vary to the technique, dagon had these shikigamis while sukuna and yuji have instead cleaves, but the point is that you cant avoid the atack, for example Gojos infinity which protects him usually against attacks becomes useless. Now there are three ways to avoid the sure hit effect: Counter the domain with your own (sukuna vs gojo, gojo vs vulcanohead, megumi vs dagon), use an anti domain technique like hollow wickerbasket (sukuna vs yuta, that paperdude vs megumi, etc) or have no curse energy at all (because the attack targets normally only things with curse energy, i say normally because domain rules can be adjusted in this regard). An innate domain is something everyone is born with, its no special type of domain, its that which allows any sorcerer (theoreticly) to perform domain expansion. lethal domain is just classifying if a domain has a sure hit effect or not, which all modern domain users (except those whose domain is literary part of their technique) do. This is also no random effect that just appears, its something you can decide to built in theparameters of the domain just as size and everything, though it comes with the cost of mental burden and energy consumtion. Personally i would say domain are superior to bankais, because while some bankais certainly are stronger than the techniques some of the stronger sorcerers use, the basicly unavoidable sure hit effect is simply too much of a cheat.
@Blackvoidwithwhiteside7193 nobito uses an anti-domain technique. Falling blossom or something like that. And after that technique broje down he imidietly lost against the shikigamis
@Blackvoidwithwhiteside7193 fallin blossom emotion is a secret anti domain technique used by the three great clans not only by the gojos. Its function is to defend the user against the sure hit effect of a domain by counter attacking the sure hit attack thats why the shikigamis got destroyed. And sure nanami hit and destroyed shikigamis too... after they already bite into him (just checked the scene to make sure). The problem was that two of them couldnt defebd properly before megumi activated his domain in dagons
@@CorvoThan also... I mixed up incomplete domains and Complete domains thinking Megumi completed his domain in culling games (I missed a single line damn it!)
An easy way to think of it is. . As for domain expansion, you have to change yourself. Sometimes atleast sometimes not But for Bankai, you have to discover your true self.
bankai, has no range limit, and also just increases the powers of the shikai and usually unlocks more powers / has a trade off that usually happens to be high risk high reward (like rukia’s shikai and bankai)
I think a domain expansion is similar to an ult move in a video game while bankai is a second form/powerup. In 1 case the fight is ending while in the other is just getting started
I think both are absolutely peak in different ways, I think that Bankai due to having less limitations are generally a lot more creative, but Domains are a lot more rare and thus impactful. I can think of many situations when a Bankai was whipped out and was completely pointless, but every single time a Domain Expansion has been delivered it felt like a massive deal (even the times it didn't do much like say Naoya vs Maki, but that one is a special case since Maki is simply immune to like 95% of Domains due to being treated like an object by them) Regardless, they both act as great trump cards that immediately bring up the hype when their name is mentioned
DE just falls short too many areas - predictable outcome (because of predictable counters) - more syllables in English and Japanese - lack of quantity - as you said, tied to a characters ability more so than who they are as a person
The two have different purposes in-Universe. Domains are known to be instawins in most cases, since they're the pinnacle of the Magic there. As for quantity, definitely, would've wished we'd seen more from different characters. Clashes could also have more interactions between each other.
@@tjj6144 Yeah, it depends on the Bankai, but Domains are almost always assure hits. Aside from Simple Domains, it's almost always going to give you the win because there's nowhere to run. Nanami and Todo had no way of stopping Self-Embodiment of Perfection, they would've died if not for the protagonist being there.

Whole first half of the gojo vs sukuna : 😶 (spamming domains until their brains give up) Higaruma: 😶 Yuta : 😶 (Don't say anything, the only reason he didn't pop out domain at start of his battle against cannon hair was because he wasn't given time to) Sukuna (again!) : 😶 Hakari : Nah , i'd gamble
each bankai are special on their own, in ichigo’s case his bankai is not as energy consuming as others. it’s not ichigo only, byakuya and toshiro also spam their bankai
Ichigo in the animated series really is awesome but for some reasons in video games counter part, they make him utterly broken as hell, cause things he doesn't do in the animated series like doing a 4 rapid slash getsuga tenshou, combo crazy in mid flash stepping. Which if he ever do that ends the fight. Both characters, if they sustained any major injury. It's over, goku had suffered many injuries as ichigo. bankai is better except for the fact that some domain expansions are pretty much and instanst win with some exceptions. for example mahitos and gojos domain. one could argue maybe sukunas full power domain aswell
i think your confused Ichibeis shikai is Ichimonji which has the black ink that erases names while his bankai is Shirafude Ichimonji which uses white ink to give things new names
I'm gonna go against the grain here. I think that Domain expansion works better for fights with the way how there are counters and strategies around dealing with them. I also believe they can reflect the characterization really well as well.
Just wanting to go against the grain and be different doesn't make you correct. And Bankais are superior for fights and reflect the themes of character and their beliefs in a better way. Also, Domain Expansions can't be countered unless you have your own anti-Domain Technique, and even then it can be overpowered/overriden against a superior Domain user. And Domains don't reflect anything about the characters that use them aside. They're just "Rule of Cool" with no meaning.
@@AnakinSkywalker-u5b Even without your own DE there is Simple Domain which can buy you some time and create opportunities to turn things around, but is easily broken, trying to counter sure hit attacks with your own attacks, trying to outlast through sheer durability and reverse cursed technique regenerating you. With how stressful and energy consuming it is to use a DE buying enough time might allow you to outlast and opponent who then can't use their cursed techniques at all for a while, putting them at a massive disadvantage and forcing them to go on the offensive if you can outlast them. In some circumstances you can try to rely on allies or attacks that can attack a domains barrier from the outside to break it. There is so much interaction and ways to make interesting fights built right into the power system. And no method is certain, even clashing with your own domain. @@AnakinSkywalker-u5b bankai can only do one thing and that's give u a power up or give u your full ability. Domains can be expanded and shrunk, you can use domain amplificafion, you have sure hits, and etc bro bankai can't do that before being smart know what you're talking
@@ldariusd21 yama has 4 different states in his bankai, shunsui has 4 different acts boiling down bankais to just a power boost or a big move is really incorrect because a huge part of it is how they have the potential to evolve or change, also domains are almost always basically just the ability of the user being spammed around the closed space(exceptions for gojo, hakari and higuruma)
After tosen died, he got reincarnated in jjk and taught them domain expansions. Like, his bankai is like a domain expansion. Its an area, you have to follow rules, kinda, he makes you blind bc he himself is, you get the point
Imo I like bankais more on paper but I like how domain expansions were utilized better. My main problem with bankai was that for the most part, bankai means the battle is over, for domains, they’re an ultimate move but one we’re shown time and time again is not an instant win. It changes the tide of the fight but doesn’t necessarily always end it. Edit: Admittedly I put it poorly and made it seem like bankai are instant wins when they’re not. I meant more so that Bankai are used relatively simplistically and more often than not, lack risk. As a result, while I love bankai, domains I find are more interesting because of how risky they are and how they interplay with other mechanics in the verse. TLDR; Bankais are mostly riskless power ups with a few exceptions and fewer instances where the limitations are relevant, Domains are more like ultimate moves that have immense risk and are practically their own subsection of combat in the verse making me more interested in them
@@RandomGuy-ci9nt what also bothers me is that bankai generally don’t make the fight any more interesting outside of a few instances, especially post soul society. It’s a general personal issue with bleach that the fights are almost never mechanically interesting and are carried by their character work. This reflects in bankai mostly just being a cool power up or character moment, while with jjk domains are treated more as a significant tactical choice. You’re expending a ton of cursed energy and making your technique useless on the gamble that you end the fight right there or put it in your favor. If your domain shatters you are in deep trouble and if your opponent cat escape it or make it shatter, they too are screwed. That sort of interplay is just absent with bankais usually.

Two of my fav series and this is the best vid for me in all of ytbe, great work man
As much as i love Bankai and no doubt it is a most iconic power boost aside from Super Saiyan.
The concept of bankai is just better
The way you explained Domains, also reminded me of Zekkai from Kekkaishi.
@@coltonwilliams4153look at my man shinji and ichigo, their drips are insane. or the quincies for example, they have immaculate drip as well
I love how similar they are in uniqueness (your own individual power gets fully enhanced and only a very few handful can obtain these).
But are still different enough such as Bankai is when the fight begins and domain expansion is when the fight ends
Just the spiritual pressure from most captains bankai release alone would shatter a domain expansion
In keeping with Bleach’s Buddhist roots, their bankai’s names define them and explain pretty much everything about them. Like Sun Wukong’s Buddha name, The Victorious Fighting Buddha, The Enlightened who will always be Victorious. That’s what I think his name means, at least.
Nothing beats Bankai in coolnes for me in any media
would just like to make a correction; Ichibeis ability to control the color black Is not his bankai, that's just something he can do, and ichimonji is just his shikai. things painted over by it lose their name. what his bankai actually does is let him etch a new name into anyone who's been painted over by ichimonji, giving them the powers and traits of that thing (example being him renaming yhwach to black ant)
Hearing all this JJK Glaze hurts me
your baseline explanation of domains is by its own nature incorrect. "lethal domain" refers to any domain with a sure hit, "innate domain" is exclusively the landscape of the domain, or the users innate soul, and an "open domain" is one where the sure hit targets *everything*.
one: you said only gojos and sukunas are lethal domains, this is untrue, every domain besides hakari and higuruma are considered lethal.
two: you said the user "imagines" who the sure hit affects, which is blatantly untrue, as then naoyas time cell moon palace wouldve hit maki in 198
three: you said only gojo and sukuna imagine they are the sole thing that can exist within their domain. you are wrong on multiple fronts, firstly, no, gojo cannot do that, his domain is limited in the same way every closed domain is in the fact that they can only hit targets with cursed energy. second, sukuna isnt the only one who can do this, as any open barrier user can, which includes kenjaku. third they themselves have restrictions, whether it be by binding vow to protect someone (sukuna) or by making contact with the user (gojo) that can prevent the sure hit from hitting you
edit: the more i watch the more blatantly wrong this gets, you are not limited to aquiring a domain expansion based on your imagination, or if you see yourself as different. a domain is literally barrier technique + innate domain. literally something anyone with cursed energy can do, and something literally *everything* including inanimate objects have. the hard part about aquiring your domain is learning how to push forth your innate domain, which is why domain expansions are not common. a great example of a character who doesnt think of themselves as "different" or "better than everyone" is higuruma, whos entire cursed technique is his domain.
while curses do have an easier time, its less due to the fact that they are the byproduct of human imagination (which they arent, its human fear and negative emotions) and its more to do with the fact that because of their pure cursed energy physiology, curses have an easier time accidentally pushing forth their innate domain. we see this with the finger bearer in the penitentiary, or the curses under the bridge.
it literally in the story quantifies the stat boost from a domain, it says its 120% of a cursed techniques potential.
the video is too wrong for me to even want to continue watching it, but ill answer the videos question. bankai 10000 times out of 100 beats domain expansion. theres so much more variety, better hax, better buffs, etc etc.
Bankai goes even deep. Some people's bankai's depeneds on the past trauma or connections they had with someone in the past. Like kaname for example his bankai is dark cause of his history with his friend.
and some bankai are incomplete due to the user’s relationship with their zanpakuto like with ichigo and renji
Bankai are better because they're more unique and aren't instant win cards unlike how they are in JJK most of the time.
Not many can acheive a domain they are only instant win cards if its an attack domain.
@@faith4657This aged like milk. Plenty of characters have Domain Expansions in JJK. And those who don't can counter them/prevent the user from activating them in a similar way in Bleach (Maki, Yuki, Yuji, Kashimo, Todo, etc)
Outside of that, Domains are an instant win card even WITHOUT the sure-hir effects as proven during the Dagon vs Naobito, Nanami & Maki fight where he was bodying them and only lost because Bumgumi appears and left the door open to his dad.
@@faith4657

The ost popping off
13:20 no way!! Yuji know how to do bankai!?!
Yuji :Ban... KAI!
Sukuna: wha-
Yuji: Benevolent boxing gloves!
that was wrong in terms of domains. all domains (except some these from ancient times and those that are inherently tied to the sorcerers technique like hakaris) have the sure hit effect.
Didn't Nobito managed to destroy some of Dagon's fishes? It really depends what you count as "Sure hit technique"

Bankai : Mega Evolution
Domain E. : Terrain moves
An easy way to think of it is. . As for domain expansion, you have to change yourself. Sometimes atleast sometimes not But for Bankai, you have to discover your true self.
Ban Kai is accepting everything you are and using the whole power of your strongest beliefs in your hand
Bankai gives an array of different abilities while also giving you a strength boost.
bankai, has no range limit, and also just increases the powers of the shikai and usually unlocks more powers / has a trade off that usually happens to be high risk high reward (like rukia’s shikai and bankai)
I think a domain expansion is similar to an ult move in a video game while bankai is a second form/powerup. In 1 case the fight is ending while in the other is just getting started
what if domain expansion was the bankais we made along the way
I think both are absolutely peak in different ways, I think that Bankai due to having less limitations are generally a lot more creative, but Domains are a lot more rare and thus impactful. I can think of many situations when a Bankai was whipped out and was completely pointless, but every single time a Domain Expansion has been delivered it felt like a massive deal (even the times it didn't do much like say Naoya vs Maki, but that one is a special case since Maki is simply immune to like 95% of Domains due to being treated like an object by them)
Regardless, they both act as great trump cards that immediately bring up the hype when their name is mentioned
Am i rock because you are stone or are you stone because i am rock.
While a domain is more op, your avarage bankai can do way more dmg with just 1 swing

- predictable outcome (because of predictable counters)
- more syllables in English and Japanese
- lack of quantity
- as you said, tied to a characters ability more so than who they are as a person
The two have different purposes in-Universe. Domains are known to be instawins in most cases, since they're the pinnacle of the Magic there.
As for quantity, definitely, would've wished we'd seen more from different characters. Clashes could also have more interactions between each other.

Whole first half of the gojo vs sukuna : 😶 (spamming domains until their brains give up)

Sukuna (again!) : 😶

Ichigo in the animated series really is awesome but for some reasons in video games counter part, they make him utterly broken as hell, cause things he doesn't do in the animated series like doing a 4 rapid slash getsuga tenshou, combo crazy in mid flash stepping. Which if he ever do that ends the fight.
Both characters, if they sustained any major injury. It's over, goku had suffered many injuries as ichigo. So yes he stops at kid boo, but i dont think so since he can probably be having a flash stepping battle forever and wont allow kid boo to destroy the planet. But with kid boo clones. Gives him the disadvantage unfortunately to tired him out, but he doesn't really gets tired unless hes sustain major injuries cause his defensive skills are good

@@AnakinSkywalker-u5b Watch the video. It literally explains at the beginning how Domains are a reflection of how the user sees the world.

TLDR; Bankais are mostly riskless power ups with a few exceptions and fewer instances where the limitations are relevant, Domains are more like ultimate moves that have immense risk and are practically their own subsection of combat in the verse making me more interested in them
That applies to a lot of Bankai as well
@@RandomGuy-ci9nt what also bothers me is that bankai generally don’t make the fight any more interesting outside of a few instances, especially post soul society.
