For grease or oil stains, rub white cream hand cleaner onto the stain, without pumice works best. Let sit for a few hours or overnight, wash in the washing machine separately from regular laundry. I've been doing this on my work pants and coveralls for a long time.

But I recently bought a new jug filled with a clear liquid that didn’t remove anything. I was so surprised by the change that it motivated me to conduct some research. Apparently Folex is now owned by a company who decided to change the formula but kept the name and packaging the same. So loyal customers thinking they’re buying the original will be duped. Why ruin a good thing?

The resistivity of silver is just slightly less than that of copper, so in theory electrons could flow faster, but really the diameter of the wire makes a far larger difference and charging also depends way more on the charging block controlling the current than it does on the cable. As long as your cable is rated to the wattage for your charging block, and your charging block is rated to the wattage for your phone, there should barely ever be a difference from material. Silver is definitely more expensive though, that’s certain.
I would be interested to see the results of testing though.

There are a lot of traditions that people follow without knowing why. Often they don't do anything useful; sometimes they make things worse.
Baking soda does make a difference when used as a paste to scrub things, since it results in a very fine abrasive. Otherwise it doesn't do much.
Vinegar is useful as an acid that's safe to work with and easily available. That helps break down or dissolve some things that water won't. But for the same reason pissing on a bite doesn't help, vinegar doesn't either - you're likely to cause more harm than good as you subject the already damaged skin to a mild acid.
An interesting trick I've learned from watching chemists is that often it's easier to use multiple chemicals to get to your final goal. Oils don't dissolve in water, but soap will let the two stick together so you can wash away the oils. Many things dissolve readily in alcohol, but it has to be proper alcohol, not rubbing alcohol which is isopropyl alcohol that is heavily diluted with water. I know pine resin (used for soldering) won't dissolve at all in water or with soap, but dissolves easily in acetone. You can blot it and flush it away, then wash away the acetone with water. Lots of other nasty degreasers (xylene, toluene) can work wonders, but they are dangerous to work with unless you have proper gloves and ventilation. Finding a sequence of solvents where each is able to clean up the other until you get to clean water can be quite powerful and is used all the time in chemistry.

Baking soda is great on anything grease based or bódy oils. It was Grandma's secret to keeping whites white, especially sheets. Oils are acidic, and bs is alkaline so it breaks it down to neutral to be washed away.
Vinegar is acidic, so it works well on alkaline stains. Minerals are alkalíne so it removes hard water buildup around sinks etc.

Every shop has a bottle of dawn dish washing liquid in it as it is used for so many different things and in a pinch works OK as a stain remover. I add a little dawn to my stain treatments. I would liked to have seen that included as I wondered if it helped any at all or was a waste of time and money.

Oil finishes are great, but they require a ton of work. Would be interesting to see how the newer products work.

If you do such a review, please include wipe-on polyurethane and also comparisons with tung oil and boiled linseed oil diluted with turpentine or mineral spirits.

Can you do a test on foot powder / foot powder spray? Something to put in boots before a long day working or hiking? Maybe even use those odor eater insoles as a control? Thanks!
