    Hi all, it is worth being aware of the positives and negatives before getting the XREAL Beam. As long as you are aware of it though, it can make for an excellent device. I hope this video is useful, please like the video to let me know, and once again, thanks for watching 👍

    A big caveat nobody mentions (in all the videos Ive viewed anyway) is the beam introduces huge latency - so gaming or moving a mouse cursor around on a screen is an exercise in futility. I guess its common sense as it is a video processor and inevitably will insert some level of latency but it hadnt occured to me when when I bought it as a package deal with my airs. Love the air glasses but the beam, at this time, is very flawed and a waste of money. Again, at this time. Its features are cool but no drm or apps and finally severe latency should be a full stop for most folks.

      Wiring connections don't seem to work. I've tried connecting it on my Tab S9 Ultra, but the lag is still there, and when I unplug the wire, the connection doesn't cut off, showing that it was actually a wireless connection all the time, even when plugged in. Same thing with my Asus Zenbook and a HDMI connection.

      Thanks, glad you like it! I really get frustrated with tech at the moment, they advertise what they dream it to be, then release a product that's only half as capable. It isn't that bad, but it's really good to get a realistic view of what you're getting 👍

    I have the xreal beam and air and I can confirm that the over 300-inch screen is indeed over 300 inches.. if you go outside or into a large open environment it looks like a 300-inches.. but if you're inside it breaks the illusion .. All screen sizes advertised are accurate and do not feel like you're holding a phone up to your face.. its damn magic

    • @DayDreamerVR
      @DayDreamerVR  Год назад

      I feel like I can't notice the difference between it at its small but near size to it's large and far away size. In theory the screens are lighting up the same pixels, so I just don't get it. I'll try it outside though as maybe me being inside is breaking the illusion 👍

    They should have held off till streaming apps are available on beam before launch. Right now as it stands for what it can do about 50 to 75 dollar device. A lot of times it's all talk by company and no delivery on what's to come.

    I'm assuming this isn't a sponsored video seeing as you're being honest. I wanna love the beam but I can't. They spend all their time trying to stop people from sideloading apps to make the experience better and no time updating it to fix bugs and add features.

      Yeah, this isn't sponsored. I really want to like it but it's not in a great state right now, but with a few updates it could become what we want it to be. Let's just hope that the much needed updates don't take XREAL long to implement 🤞 I still find it useful for using with a laptop which is my main use case, but would like more apps on it asap

    If the hardware is on the device and runs hot as a result, why does the phone drain? The glasses are supposed to be powered by the Beam. Even if not, it should drain no more than without the Beam.

    • @DayDreamerVR
      @DayDreamerVR  Год назад

      Without the phone connected the Beams battery drains normally. But the Beam seems to treat the phone as an external battery bank, and it charges the Beam. The phone battery definitely goes down much quicker connected than when separate, and the battery of the Beam charges.

If you can connect wirelessly then you wouldn't have the same issue, but at the moment you can wirelessly do Netflix etc. They are looking to add apps onto it, so they would prevent this issue. Ultimately it needs a fix or update in one way or another to get around, which hopefully will happen in September, we shall see. I'm glad I got the chance to see those glasses on you with the blocker in each video. I'm formed an opinion that I want them to look more like real glasses instead of a cheap plastic cover over your glasses. I want mirror lenses and I want it to look less flat. I feel like I'm staring at something obviously fake that your wearing on your face and stands out enough to me that I myself feel uncomfortable. I hope that makes some sense to you or helps you in any way.

    • @DayDreamerVR
      @DayDreamerVR  Год назад +1

      That does make sense, I am planning to remove the lens cover and give that a go in the videos. First I'm going to get a blackout blind to prevent reflections in the glasses. I think it will feel better without the cover on, like you say, the matte look makes it look like some kind of glasses filter with them being superimposed and not real 👍

    • @DayDreamerVR
      @DayDreamerVR  Год назад +1

      I have just done another video with the cover off. I also made my PC monitor black so there is less of a relection, and turned down the brightness of the display in the glasses. I'd be interested to know what you think, hopefully this is better? ruclips.net/video/x_i3F8sQCFI/видео.html

    Will the beam help with the shirt mirror. Literally all I see is my shirt with the glasses.

    • @DayDreamerVR
      @DayDreamerVR  Год назад

      Unfortunately the Beam won't help, all it does is keep the screen stationary in one place, or allows a couple more options/compatability. So if you find you have too much reflection in the glasses then it won't change that. What you could do is try tilting the glasses slightly by adjusting the arms up or down (they have three positions you can click them in to), and hopefully one of the positions will be better and not reflect your shirt in your view as much. Hope you find a solution that works for you 👍

      This was someone's post on Discord, I don't know if it will help at all 🤞
      first connect the beam to a usb port of any device (PS4, SteamDeck stand) as the standard current of these port is around 900mA.
      as soon as the LED lights of the beam turn on, disconnect the cable and hold the button for 15 sec. it will reboot then after some time, it will shut off. (if you don't disconnect it, the LED will turn to red and it won't charge no matter how long you wait)
      now connect the cable again and leave it, you will notice that after the beam boot up this time, the LED will turn into a flashing red light. now it's charging leave it until the LED turn into white(it will not go to 100%, mine stopped at 21%)
      now disconnect it and use it until it run out of battery (although mine showed 21% once it reached 1% it took too long to run out of battery, I think the reading was wrong )
      (while trying to make it run out of Battery, don't turn it off completely or leave it inactive for a long time)
      once it run out of Battery charge it again using a better charger and this time it will charge up to 100%
