Speaking of whom, Sol Squadron should have flown Su-57’s instead of Su-30’s. They fly even lesser planes than that of Yellow Squadron, which flew Su-37’s 15 years before.
@@falkenlaser I wouldn't say the Su-30MKM/MKI is lesser than the Su-37. In aerobatics and maneuverability, maybe... But the Su-30, as far as i know, employs the latest avionics and even lessons learned in the Su-37. Besides, for the purposes of the plot, I think they have needed a two-seater model as the Su-30's of Sol Squadron has these camera recording and computers for the drones on the backseat, this they are addressed as "The Experimental Unit" in Ace Combat 7. What is kinda weird for me is Osea, they were flying F-22As in the earlier games as a standard fighter but had been using F-15Cs in Ace Combat 7. Then again, the United States are planning to slowly retire their F-22As for F-15EXs which can carry 16 missiles, I think, as opposed to 8 for the F-22s and F-15Cs.
Yeah, the F-22s are unfortunately getting retired because they’re just (literally) too damn good for what the US is fighting, so they’re basically costing more in maintenance than they get the chance to destroy in armour and hostile aircraft (which they haven’t had a change to properly fight yet).
Like Duke Nukem and his theme song, the Top Gun theme physically follows the Tomcat around where ever it goes

@@tortilla.co605 the canopy did indeed open, but due to the spin, idk how to explain this but it slows down somehow, so his head was hit on the canopy, causing goose neck to snap, aka break.

@@SHVRWK it is 💀, the avionics and the radar suite is better than the f 22 and on pawer to the f 35 and j 20 but is inferior in stealth comparing to all of them but it is a low observable aircraft so it is designated as a fifth gen aircraft, for the purpose it is built for it should to perform extremely well when fully inducted in the Russian air force.

@@GorilderThe F-14 can engage in BVR pretty damn well. The SU-57 lacks any way to combat BVR due to having poor radar and lock warnings. The SU-57 also uses UV-based warning systems, which literally cannot detect radar guided missiles. So no, an F-14 could deal with an SU-57.
I’m not even an F-14 simp, this is just pretty basic logic. The pilot doesn’t matter if the pilot is already dead because a BVR missile that the pilot couldn’t see has already blown him into 64 different pieces (US missiles aim for the cockpit).

In its day, the F14 was one of the greatest fighter interceptors in the world. Especially after the TF30s were replaced in the B model... the Super Tomcat would've been an absolute monster

I honestly picked up the TGM dlc for Ace Combat 7 purely for the Darkstar, which has honestly become my favorite plane in AC7, though I did find the Su-57, I mean “5th gen fighter” to be pretty useful in the later missions. All in all, I’d say that was a pretty good use of my $20.
