Rub and Buff works best on textured surfaces, for sure. A pair of needle nose pliers can help hold those tiny nails for the corner details.

  • @stvnixrcks
    @stvnixrcks 2 месяца назад +1

For the "bare" corners on the frames, maybe you could add just a touch of acrylic paint in the same color as the fabric and that way, you won't see the frame? Just an idea 🙂

Love all these! Especially the edge banding ones!
For the fabric ones, I wonder if removing the glass would make the effect more seamless and textured with the mattes?

The hardship for every creative by heart person is, that they keep all those treasures they want to use in a project.
Blessing and curse at the same time. 😅
Love the idea to sell your amazing art as smaller versions/ cards!! ❤
Your new bathroom is so beautiful btw.

Your smile always lifts a viewers mood if it needs such. Your passion for detail, for patience is beyond my comprehension but then I am 81 which I feel limits a long patience time period. Possibly spray paint and decorative corners would suffice for me. Do you anticipate moving to Atlantic at some point?

Dig the corner frames. I will do this, but will glue them on. I also love the fabric covered look and have been collecting frames to do this fabric cover idea. I have been getting plain straight frames so I will not have to deal with details, and I have been sourcing mens shirts from thrift stores and using the backs of the shirts to cover. I have some cool designs. Now....just doing it is the thing. Projects....LINE UP.....Who wants to go first.
Last comment : rub n' buff....a less expensive product is a cheap bottle of metallic craft paint....just dab your finger in it and buff piece. For my needs, I have found it to work equally as well.

Thankyou so much for the inspiration! ❤️ I bought a print on Etsy from an independent artist and have been looking for a special frame to do it justice. Now I suddenly know what to do! I sew a lot and have lots and lots of fabric scraps, I’m going to glue a collage of them on one of my old Ikea frames, keeping it quite cohesive though so it doesn’t interfere with the picture. It’s quite a large print so I think it will work well. So thankyou once again!
By the way, I love your videos, the content, your energetic personality and your attention to detail. ❤️

Love these. I recently covered a frame and the mount with wallpaper for my dressing room using the same wallpaper I stuck to the top of my dresser when I upclycled it. Then I used some grenn checkered fabric from an old dress to cover the mount in another frame..I left the actual frame as is as it was a nice gold one. 🤎

When I've needed to nail in tiny nails and my fingers are to big to hold it steady, I use needle-nose pliers to hold the nail straight. Tap the nail down until the head is at the edge of the pliers and then remove the pliers and finish nailing.

Your inside corners, cut out the fabric into a triangle and stretch the fabric as forming it into the corner. You would need to cut it in the back. Hope it helps 😊

I like the edge-banded frames the best, second would be the corner detail. I frequently spray paint matts from Dollar Tree or thrifted art. As long as you do light coats, they come out great.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had issue with Rub n' Buff. I also found it hard to work with and too patchy. A little goes a long way, but I found I had to do numerous coats of it to get the effect I wanted. All of the frames turned out so good. I like the metal corners on the frames, I think they add a nice detail.

Great video, your ideas are terrific. I really love the corner protectors, I'm thinking that something like that could be a away to mount student grade canvas boards onto a frame backing. I like to use those boards for collage since they are inexpensive and firm but have struggled with how to frame them or mount them so they look more elevated. I may have to try this out. Thanks for sharing!

I've not tried R & B either, the people I see use it it is on top of chalk paint or to touch up old frames and they use their fingers to apply or round soft brushes, you may have more success that way. I need to try too
