I can't believe that I actually did it. I followed your instructions, right down to doing the middle first, and did a 15ft wall. It was stunning. I did black crocodile faux leather and then put a beautiful contemporary crystal chandelier in front of it in the front entry way. It's stunning.

Very cool! You could have stapled it to the top and then put crown molding over it after. Then use the paste going down. I love that you have your parents help.

Ugh….prep is the worst! But ya gotta do it to make the job work. Attention to detail is so critical at this point…..I actually feel quite triumphant when I get to the end of the prep stage - because I know the BEAUTY stage is next! Hang in there - the project will finish out to look amazing! And you are soooooo young……you’ll have many refurb adventures ahead of you…including some wtf massive fails. At 71, I think my days of crawling around chipping at wood trim are over….but I still wallpaper like a boss! Good decor journeys to you!!

I would not have thought to center that fabric like this. What a great tip. Years ago, my mother and I covered the bathroom ceiling with something almost as heavy as this, it had the same fabric backing. We didn't have a special adhesive and what a nightmare that was. We were both so stubborn, we didn't give up when if fell the 20th time. Somehow we got it done, it looked great.
The rustic sink against that ultra lux covering is soooo interesting. I don't know what it is called but I do this all the time. The juxtaposition of the two is so dynamic, at least to me. I have never heard of a designer ever mentioned this. There is so much contrast it creates a beautiful tension.

Yessss I'm totally binge watching your channel!🤪
I just wanted to comment to help your channel out! Gotta support the channels that we enjoy! If anyone is reading this it really helps our fave RUclipsrs when we in addition to liking and subscribing is to ALSO type his channels name in the search bar ALSO write a comment, doesn't have to be a short novel like this one!🤣 Anyways this helps YT see the algorithm of this channel. That "REISSUED" is being sought out and has more interest. Then they will suggest his channels to more folks stuck at home in a snowstorm like me!☃️ Boom! His channel grows!📈🤞

Hi there. I'm Sabrina. Oddly enough, I am currently in the middle of a whole house re-decor!! Firstly, I did NOT have a clue of the shear magnatude of my project. Simply put, one morning I came down the stairs about a year ago, and I snapped. I could no longer endure my home as it was. So, I purged everything that had no sentimental attachment, or just basic need to live: ie, beds, kitchen stuff etc... You see, I was in the Navy for 16 years and raised three kids. Moving everywhere we did, I just did not have a flair for putting together a home-military housing is very basic and very very ugly...so my entire house was the color of brown. In my mind, if it was brown-well then it sort of went together. Oh how wrong I was. That morning that I snapped-I looked at it for what it was. I had a brown wall, with a brown book case, with brown nick nacks, on brown rug, with brown chairs that were facing a window with you guessed it, brown curtains. What made matters worst, none of the browns were the same-just shades of shit. Fast forward to today. My walls are a bold and beautiful Vine Green and Mocha White combination as you walk in the door. So dramatic!! I found and had installed something completely unexpected: A crystal chandelier smack in the middle of my living room. My daughter comes over and just giggles at me cause I'm like a giddy little girl about this project. Like you, I shop the thrift stores religiously-I'm finding regencey and manor furnishings, unmolested vintage tables/frames/pedistals/obscure art works and a tapestry that blows my mind-CHEAP!!
Now, I have been considering a wallpaper option or a leather covering for my den ceiling. EXPENSIVE. Your video here has inspired me. Thank you for sharing your jouney, and I look so forward to future glimpses of your projects, I feel a kindred spirit with you. Well, that's all for now, keep up the good work and stay positive. Your new friend, Sabrina.

I love this and actually did a faux ostrich leather ceiling in my bar. But I used embossed paper with a series of stains to create a leather look . Your idea of using fabric was when I didn't consider which would have worked great for me, but I don't think I would have liked the idea in a bathroom for sanitary reasons. Now though I'm thinking I could use it if I coded it with a varnish or polyurethane or surface. That would not breathe if you know what I mean lol. Because even though vinyl is a wipeable surface I don't know. I accidents happen in bathrooms and it still will absorb. Yikes!

Just subscribed to your channel. I'm in the process of getting my place together as well. I just bought some faux leather from Walmart and I was considering hanging it on the wall but didn't know how when I found your channel. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of your adhesive of choice. I'm pretty sure I 'm going to have some extra material left over after I finish my wall do you think you could do a video on how to use the faux leather to make a throw pillow cover??? I can't sew so please make it easy. I appreciate your talent and confidence. Thanks 👍😊

Hey! I’m so glad this was helpful to you! I’ll see what I can do on the pillow front… I’ve definitely wanted to make some faux leather pillows for awhile, but I’m not sure I can make it a total “no sew.” However, I do think a faux leather pillow might be a good beginner sewing project!

Great result and def value for money! Well done (and really good application of your maths skills).
Wondered whether the problems with the stitching of the thicker layers also could have to do with the type of needle you used. Did you use a needle for leather? Alternatively a needle for jeans material might work.

The paste that I used in the video worked very well and would work for pretty much any fabric or paper! As for fabric choices, I think the faux leather vinyl was a great choice, but you could do something interesting with a very textured woven fabric for a grasscloth feel!
