@arvelyt2188 DJ is 125-135 lbs. The Muay Thai fighter is the same. Jon Jones is 265. I agree that Jon Jones is the GOAT. But I didn't say DJ was the GOAT in my comment. I said he is one of the greatest to ever do it. And that's just the facts. DJ is a top 10 mixed martial artist of all time. And he is the greatest to ever do it at his weight class. Also this comment is 6 months old and has to do with the mixed style combat. Which i still feel is an incredible idea. What do you think of the mixed style match? I definitely like the idea of seeing more of those in the future.

Rodtang didn't really put people out in the first round and you need at least a year of hardcore wrestling/grappling training to even have a chance to survive the second round (and that's assuming they have very good grappling talent, I would say more years for people who don't) against someone like DJ.

Bro he chose that as his moniker, and I think he looks badass even though it's funny. The truth is that these shopped thumbnails get way more clicks and this one is doing great so far. If it's between these thumbnails and people seeing my videos and my old thumbnails and no one sees it the choice is obvious. Channels who know nothing and give out bad advice get higher CTR's with their thumbs so I'd rather not have those guys spread bad info and then throw in one or two of my technique points to seem credible and get money from it. I would never insult a fighter and I think I did the opposite here. So it's fine if you think it's silly but I don't see how it can be taken as disrespectful given that's his literal nickname he chose himself.

You cannot overstate how big brain DJ's finish setup is. He hit Rodtang with a body kick, which is a high scoring move in Muay Thai. It immediately got Rodtang back in pure MT mode for a split second and he countered with his signature hook.
Hooks aren't as safe when the sport allows you to get in on the hips of a guy. Check 9:16 - it's a picture perfect pivoted hook which exposes the side of the hip.
DJ beat Rodtang by using his strengths against him.

What we learn here is that MMA is overall superior to kickboxing/Muay Thai in a real life 1v1 fight situation. Grappling/Wrestling skills with an advanced ground game (BJJ for example) can shut down any top striker in a real fight. MMA certainly is the closest thing to a street fight with just the right amount of rules in place.
