I just ordered the MKE 600 after watching your video. Thanks bruh
@@threethroneproductions5498 Thanx))) I'm glad!
@@threethroneproductions5498 ditto :)
MKH 416
Sennheiser is better by far.
Sennheiser did a great job on the MKE 600! Even with all the extra features on the Rode NTG4+, I prefer the sound and price on the MKE 600.
NTG4+ sounds like crap in front of the sennheiser here
Just bought a mke 600, from this video looks like I picked the right one
Congrats! Good choice!
This has got to be the most in depth comparison ever. Really sold with the MKE-600. It's well balanced. the ntg4+ just sound nasal to me.
Thanks mate)) stay tuned)
Great video! I really appreciate the way you performed the simultaneous audio recording tests. I was already leaning a certain way but you absolutely sold me on the Sennheiser.
Thank you! Nice to hear from you ☺️
This is just unbelievable, I really appreciate your efforts to create such a valuable and informative video for all and that too for free. Lots of wishes from India :)
Thank you Harshad! I really appreciate it ☺️ stay tuned and greetings from Russia 😎
Very in-depth review, thanks so much!
Insights you showed tipped my buy towards the MKE (had initially planned to get NTG4, not the plus - which is slightly cheaper than both the MKE and NTG4+).
One thing I would have loved to hear; how the pickup changes by increasing the distance *in-doors* (out door demo was good, but in-doors I fear you'll have other characteristics based on reverberation). I plan to use this to record in a room with a bit limited audio treatment, while I have to keep a minimum distance from the audio source.
Hey, thank you! I use MKE-600 at about 50-70cm away from me and it sounds awesome, till 1,5m it’s sounds really good, but after 1,5 it starts to lose it’s quality
Thank you! The only thing i miss was an indoor distance test.
Thank you! I’ll take it into consideration)
A very good test video - well made and sympathetically presented 👍
Thank you! Stay tuned))
The Sennheiser MKE 600 pretty much destroys the Rode NTG4+ by far!
It's like night and day. And it is even cheaper than the Rode NTG4+.
Cheers!
And I own one myself. It is a steal for its price
Agree)) Greetings from Russia, bro)
That was very helpful. Maybe the ntg performa better for outside, distant and crowded recording but for voice recording, I am really taking into consideration to get the sennheiser
Thanks! Since I plan to connect straight to camera via 3.5mm (not XLR), would you recommend the MKE600 or the Rode VideoMic NTG?
I’d still go for the MKE-600
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for all the work to test them in different conditions! In reddit they said that even the NTG3 is so much better than the MKE 600, but in this video, I'd prefer everything about the Senheiser mic instead of the Rode one. Thank you again!
Thanks mate) stay tuned!
Have to say your kitchent is a pretty dope background haha never thought I’d say this
ahah)) Thanx a lot)) I hope one day I'll make a proper youtube space.
Excellent demonstration and review.
Thanks mate))
I have been using the MKE 600 for voiceover work. I must admit, It has been really really good... and it paid for itself in less than a month of owning it. I continue to use it for all of my commercial and promo voiceover work.
Great choice! Same works for me! Thanx for wathcing!
show some of your work with it
@@antdx316 I have 3 videos on my channel that show me setting it up. And all my reaction videos from this year and last year, I am using it as the main microphone.
It was sort of your video that helped me decide to get the MKE600. I saw the video of your video getting edited and thought it sounded good for what I needed.
@@HippieMagic That is good to know! I have been using this make for the last 4-5 years and have not had any complaints.
Excellent video. Much appreciated.
Thanks mate)
Yea, loved the Sennheiser. Thanks for the video. really good quality
Thank you! Stay tuned for more good content) for instance in 2 hours I’ll post an in-depth review of Tamron 70-180mm f2,8 from Istanbul 😎
Cool video man, thanks. Congrats and have a good start with the channel
Thank you very much! I appreciate it!
Soundwise MKE600 is definetely better for voice, NTG4+ sounds like it is missing some frequency or if it is using some high pass filter.
I prefer the Sennheiser MKH 600
But !
I think you didn't use tge loe cut filter and other features .
Thankyou so much for this video, i chose the MKE600 after this and i am so happy, earlier i was gonna go for the NTG4+, but i did not and i am glad, much love and many thanks!
Hey)) Congrats! Nice to hear!

Great video!! Im looking to upgrade my audio equipment for my RUclips channel, so this review was great! Very well done man! I think I'm leaning towards the Sennheiser.
Thank you)) good luck with the channel and stay tuned 😎
Greta vid, thanks. Sennheiser MKE 600 seems to have come out on top as far as sound quality goes. Keep doing it.
Thanks mate) stay tuned)
Great review! You did an excellent job. I am looking for a new mic for my recording and right now the MKE 600 is in the lead. Since this video is over a year old, let me ask you a question. Staying within the price range of the MKE 600, is there a better mic you recommend or is the MKE 600 the best I can get in this price range? Thanks.
Hey) thanks) I didn’t find any better than mke-600 for the money)
@@NOlimitsON Thanks
Excellent test! Thank you. The MKE 600 sounds best to me.
Thanx! I appreciate it!
Very very good video, thank you very much !!
Welcome mate) stay tuned 🤗
Great video, thank you for road testing these two mics, very helpful - I am consdidering the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone for my wirk but wondered what you record to. I have a TASCAM DR05X which I have used with a lav mic but wondered if I can do the same with theis shotgun mic?
Thank you! I think you’ll be fine with Tascam) have you seen this video of mine? ruclips.net/video/aJwHVzjwmKE/видео.html that’s my full voice over setup and workflow
Just watched this after buying a Sennheiser MKE 600 following a lot of deliberation between it and the Rode NTG 4. Stunned to hear here just how much more I prefer the MKE 600. It comes over as another level entirely. I was definitely already delighted with it but thought would give this a watch to see the difference and its considerable.
Yeah) hands down my favorite mic ever
@@NOlimitsON Wow, well my knowledge on the subject is close to zero so that makes me feel my research was sound! One question I do have, if you have a moment, when using the MKE 600 with my camera for video be it indoors of outdoors for nature (but on camera/close to camera) is it better (does it make a difference) if I use the supplied XLR to 3.5mm jack straight into the camera (using the cameras probably basic pre amp - I am assuming that's what happens - light on knowledge here!) or where possible will I see a benefit connecting the MKE 600 via XLR straight into my TASCAM Portacapture X8 XLR port? Assuming this then makes use of the better pre amp in the X8?
@@markr3926 you’d better a better result with a recorder, of course)
I've been a Rode user, but after seeing this, I'm gonna give the Sennheiser MKE 600 a try with my komodo setup. Thank you!
Welcome mate, stay tuned!
The Sennheiser MKE 600 sounds way better for me. I'll be picking this up soon. thanks for the video!
MKE 600, had NTG before but Senn just sounds better and has lower noise's level
The Sennheiser has a much better balanced, warm, and natural sound. The Rode sounds a bit hissy and raspy. Thanks for such a good demonstration!
Thank you Robert! Stay tuned, mate)
Spasibo, Oleg :)
I was looking for the exactly this comparison MKE 600 vs NTG 4+ for "field voiceover" projects, and you solved my task perfectly.
Yep, NTG looks too bassless mic. Maybe it is more useful for some technical or ambient sounds, but for a human voices, MKE is much better.
Thank you for the video!
Thanks Alex! I’m glad I helped) stay tuned 😉
I love the sound on the MKE 600 🤩
Me too) I still use it for my voice over and RUclips videos
Love my MKE600
the NTG4 is better at a distance where the MKE is better close up. so I will probably be getting the NTG4 because with filming I'm never getting that close with the mic that I could take effect of that close range quality
Sennheiser MKE 600 Thank You

Hey mate great video!
You put really good effort into this. Much better than other RUclipsrs' videos on this topic. I hope you grow big very soon 👍
I think I might buy a couple Sennheisers for my channel.
This is why I like Sennheiser. When they make something, they usually make it right and consistency is good.
I've had some bad experiences with Rode products. They are a bit hit and miss I think...does anybody else have a similar experience with Rode?
Hey! Thank you! Really appreciate your words! My Rode wireless go and Rode Vidiomic are OK, but the NTG 4+ was a real disappointment...
@@NOlimitsON you had any problems with the Videomic Go at all? I'm considering that mic too but worried about drop-outs and I've heard there can be some problems with high pitch background noise?
Cheers mate
@@propercushty I don't have Videomic go... only Rode Wireless Go and Videomic Pro... so I can't judge...
AWESOME VIDEO MAN!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
@@NOlimitsON what lens did you use for this video? looks awesome too :D
@@Legendv1 for talking head and sound test of Coke and mandarins - tamron 17-28 f2.8, I have a review of this lens on my channel) and for macro - Nikon 105mm f2.8 micro with k&f adapter 😎
@@NOlimitsON thanks man! for content creation would you recommend a to start with Tamron 28-75 or a sony zeiss 55mm? or is there another lens that you liked the most. again thanks brother
@@Legendv1 for versatility 28-75 Tamron is a great choice, I think it’s a great lens, but also I would bye something like 85mm f1.8 from Sony - pretty affordable and you’ll get a pretty different look and a great addition to Tamron 28-75, but I would definitely start with the Tamron and only after add a fast prime lens to the kit.
hi thank you for the great video I am impressed how the voice fades at just 1.5 meters from the mics Now i understand why they use boom mics for dialogue recording outdoor The mic must be very close to the speakers Maybe even indoor
Indeed mate) thanks, stay tuned!
my opinion, after using Sennheiser products for over 9 years ( my headphones work perfectly after 8 years of heavy use ), is that Sennheiser is a more established brand in the professional audio space. I don't say ROde is not good but is just something about how Sennheiser products are engineered. one point for the Germans on this one. From your video deffo the sound compression and quality is better on the MKE600.
Exactly Adrian)) thank you for the comment and stay tuned ☺️
Great comparison. I use the MKE-416 but am looking for a backup mic and the MKE 600 sounds WAY better than the NTG4+.
Thanks) stay tuned)
Sennheiser is a no brainer for serious Filmmakers, can't wait to get mine, great review bro!
Thanks))
Great video!mkh600 I guess
Thank you)) I also think so) Stay tuned)
I think I would watch a full video of recording of random stuff, that was really nice
Thank you)) Stay tuned)
Very goo channel. Can you tell what support you ar using for the SENNHEISER Microfone MKE 600? Than you
Hi! Thank you! It’s a shock Mount from Auray
I really enjoyed your video. I am about to buy the Sennheiser and I would like to ask how good it is at isolating external noise in terms of doors opening/closing and also sounds like water drains in the pipes within the studio.
I'm specifically asking for this because even though we have a Rode microphone that captures the voice really well, it doesn't insulate against these noises ( our room has sound deading foam around the chair where we sit and talk, also curtains for sound proofing and is really silent.
We also tested with a Thomann microphone ( podcast like ) which is really good at isolating everything but it's not that good capturing the tone of the voice as we want.
Thank you so much for your input!!!
Thanks) if you place the mic at 90 degrees to the potential sounds (like pipes, doors etc.) - it’s really good
@@NOlimitsONYeah, the noise source is like 4 meters away at the back. So I guess we'll be fine!
I just bought it and will test it on Tuesday - I will report back on my findings.
Thank you so much I really appreciate it.
Keep up the good work on your channel!!!
Sennheiser MKE600 by a long shot. I'm listening on a my trusty Yamaha MSP7 Studio monitors. Maybe the others sound better when listening on a phone or tablet?
9:30 nice a lil ASMR for the road
😉
@@NOlimitsON 😂 I just ordered the MKE 600. Hope it works for my interview!
i have 2x mke 600 i love it
Great!
Sennheiser is giving natural sound, while NTG4+ is adding colour. I prefer Sennheiser.
Sennheiser mke 600 for the win!!!
I love MKE600

Sennheiser first - geez the RODE videomicpro sounds great! followed by the RODE NTg4
а как подключить одновременно два микрофона пушки? через карту?
Верно
@@NOlimitsON а можно ли подключить два микрофона к карте, а карту к телефону? Так будет работать?
Сомневаюсь… надо тестировать
Is sennheiser great for recording car engines? Thx for the review!
I guess yes)) I love the sound from it)
Great review! I think the Sennheiser is the winner because it does have a richer sound where the Rode had a thinner sound. When buying two Sennheisers, do you need to buy a "pair" like the Rode cardioid condesner mics or is that possible?
Hey) thanks! Didn’t really understand your question… what do you mean?
@@NOlimitsON I've been researching the best mics and came across a review on the Rode NT5 and the reviewer said that if you're going to buy two of them to buy them as a "pair" (which are on amazon)...the mics were made at the very same time...almost like twins, because you will get the exact sound. He went on to say that if you bought the same mic and then bought another at a different time, you have have two different sounds.
I love this review! The MKE 600 sounds the best to me. Wondering have far away from the subject you can be before each is sounds not very usable?
Thank you) I think 3 meters is the limit
Just bought a Sennheiser MKE 600 =) nice video!
Thanks mate) stay tuned)
Outside test MKE600 wins, can hear noise floor or more ambient from NTG4+
i want a good mic that can be plugged into the camera with a 3.5mm jack. If i get an adapter for the sennheiser, will it make the quality a lot worse? Or will it still out perform the rode ntg if they are both just plugged into the camera with a 3.5mm cable?
Hey! It had some troubles with an adopter in my case, so I’d suggest looking at rode video mic NTG for instance ☺️
@@NOlimitsON thanks, i think ill play it safe and save some money getting the ntg then!
@@BarefootMediaTV good idea)
You just sold me the Sennheiser 👍👍
😉
Videomic Pro actually sounds pretty good to my ears. MKE600 sounds the best though!
MKE-600 wins!! thanks for this great video!
Thanks mate)) stay tuned!
Good comparison. The NTG4+ sounds a little bit thin in this video. Nice, but thin. Also a little more noise.
These were both running off phantom power yeah? How is the performance when on battery power? Same? Different?
Yeah, both from FS7, to be honest I didn’t notice any difference between phantom power and batteries
@@NOlimitsON Thanks mate!
nice
What about ntg-5 and 3? How do they compare to these 2?
I didn’t use ntg5 or 3… can’t say…
how do you connected them? directly to the camera or used a recorder like zoomhn4
Hey) I said in in the video) both straight to Sony FS7 (it has 2 XLR inputs with phantom power).
Tq so much
I love the MKH 600 sounds more natural and less compressed
Sennheiser MKE 600
I like more how they sound with the High-pass filter off, is it just me?
I don't hear a dramatic difference))
They definitely sound better without the HP filter
why is the rode so quiet even though it has higher sensitivity than the sennheiser?
Is it a waste to buy the senheiser mke600 for college/zoom/gaming on pc?
Why a waste?) I use it for PC, RUclips and streaming
Great Review! MKE600 destroys the Rode by far.... Thanks a lot
Welcome) stay tuned)
The Sennheiser sounds best. Could I use it for voice over work or is it just for film/documentaries? Thanks Great video.
Hey) check out my 2-3 latest videos on the channel - I used sennheiser mke 600 + dbx 286s + Audient EVO 4 for voice over
Thanks mate! Stay tuned))
FINALLY! I've found the best comparison in my opinion. There are plenty of reviews and comparison but all of them compare only the voice. I'm interested in how the mics perform for foleys and sound design. No one make a demo of this kind. Thank you! You gained a subscriber!
BTW I think the Sennheiser is the winner. More clarity, slightly pronounced bass but not so much to became boomy. NTG4+ is more boxy, but maybe has much more rejection on the sides.
The worse maybe is the lav, but that's an omni so it takes all the room sounds.
Thank you very much! I appreciate it a lit! Tomorrow I'll have one more video about MKE-600 and comparison with Shure SM7B - Stay tuned))
Bought the senhei you on 24 bit or 32 float?
24 if I’m not mistaken
@@NOlimitsON nice people are drooling over 32 float but I hear no difference when in dialogue
Sennheiser MKE 600 is the best
Sennheiser: roundeer, more natural lows, less metallic mids
incidentally, i bought the MKE 600 right before watching this video, and i was happy and relieved that the RODE didn't beat it. :)
Sennheiser MKE 600 is the way to GO , forget the others !!!! German quality !!
NTG4+ almost sounds like it was recorded with a fairly steep HPF when compared to the MKE 600. MKE600 is far superior imho.
Did you enable cuts on the NTG4+?
I did test those out and didn’t hear noticeable difference
Sennheiser💯🥶
The Sennheiser MKE 600 is a better mic because it has depth without any filter.
For sure))
Integrated non-changable batteries is a B.S., if it fail over time you trash mic out... As well AA is just easy to have unlimited spare ones .
The NTG-4 plus . . . to much 'mids'. I have a Rode NTG-3 and it is wonderfully flat and 'dark,' quite different to the the 4 plus. The Sennheiser sounds the best.
How does the rode video mic pro sound better then the rode NTSH4+ ? xD
It doesn’t)) it’s just different)
Analyzing made easy
btw, thanks for your effort, but ALL 3 mics are not properly positioned for the human voice in your opening shot -- you realize, correct??
Yeah, I know)) I use my MKE-600 from above all the time, but in this video I did it for the sake of comfort)) thank you for mentioning! Stay tuned ☺️
well sennheiser definitely trumps rode on this one, great review. Shame that mke 600 is more than twice the price of NTG4+ here
mke 600 is 70 dollars cheaper.............................
Sennheiser !
