Hi Brittany! One great thing about Khan Academy is when your daughter takes the PSAT (and the SAT down the road), she can have her scores associated with her Khan Academy account and get a customized course (for free!) based on her results. It targets the specific stills she still needs mastery on in both the verbal and math portions. The prep materials they have now include bite-sized videos and practice for students as well. Just make sure you are looking for the Digital SAT course as that is the new SAT as of this March. Love your videos! I am going to be homeschooling my son for kindergarten in August, and he's my only child. I am a recovering high school educator myself, and I have to seriously "deschool" myself from the public school mentality.
Hi Brittany. I love watching your videos, they are always so informative. I was wondering if you would ever consider doing a video about how you teach your daughter note-taking and study skills. I have a 13 year old son who is having some trouble with that area and I could use all the help I can get. Thank you for always putting out such great content.
We are using Vocabulary Cartoons SAT version with my 8th and 10th graders this year! We do one word a day, and I've been really impressed on their retention! There is a SAT 1 and SAT 2 book now.
I have an upcoming 8th grader in GA too. I spoke with a college a few days ago and we're going to set up a tour and start getting our questions answered and prepare for potential DE also. Very fun times. We started with Homeschool beginning 3rd grade. And she's my oldest too.
Hello, don’t forget to add in nonfiction pieces of literature. It can be after you read the fiction book and read some reviews and information about author, etc.
I have an up and coming 7th grader in GA as well. This will be the first time im homeschooling. This was very informative. I'm definitely looking into the ixl and khan academy to practice.
Hi!!! (This information 🙌) New homeschooling mama here, currently going through our first year. My kiddos are in the 4th and 2nd grade. It's never to soon to start looking into dual enrollment, or I could be getting ahead of myself lol. My 4th grader struggled with reading comprehension and we are using a good bit of the resources you have mentioned and I must say I noticed a huge difference with her now, then from the beginning of our school year. I will have to check out "The Fallacy Detective" I love the goals you have in place, Thanks for sharing!!

That is really helpful to know, thanks. I haven't heard anyone mention that. Nice to be aware of for down the road
