I have a toxoplasmosis infection in my left eye. I’ll be on antibiotics for a looong time. Doctor thinks the blind spot in my peripheral vision will be permanant but I mainly need to pay attention to it to notice it. My symptoms started out as an increase in floaters then the blind spot quickly began to appear and grew so we went to the eye clinic and was sent to a fairly large hospital for the area I live in. I was told I’m lucky to have come at the time I did cuz a lot of people end up completely losing their vision from the toxo.

There's a new study by Dr. Flegr starting with 36,000+ people correlating Toxo with sexual practices such as S&M, tattoos, and piercings. Perhaps the most studied parasite, a rock star, lots of discoveries since this video came out.
My current conclusion is that the main trait is hyper-judgementalism, because Toxo eats GABA, the brain's inhibitory neurotransmitter.
Dec 8, 2016 (link below) Toxo antibodies might fade like its cousin malaria, therefore the parasite can be having an orgy in the brain while its victim's blood tests negative, explaining the correlation confusion, which is good news for all of us, because it means that pretty soon we'll have reason to beg Else-Vet for another video on -- Toxoplasmosis, once all of the scientists receive the memo.

Clearly we should be testing gray matter, not blood. Device that looks like a gun, you put it to the back of your -victim's- patient's head, pull the trigger and it drills an itty bitty hole just large enough for the needle, extracts gray matter, plugs the hole and off to the lab no worse for wear.

Fecal oral route of disease transmission should not be discounted. Transmission from a family pets to humans is actually common.
Assuming you can always avoid contact with a cats feces is not realistic. However, people with indoor cats are less likely to have an infected animal. So the best way for cat owners to avoid the disease is to avoid adopting pets that may already be infected, and keep cats indoors.

If the infection was a long time ago, toxo is safely tucked away in the brain. Antibody tests with a blood draw would be false negative if the antibodies fade over time like its closest genetic cousin, malaria. So he could say, judge, I have toxoplasma and if you test me you won't find it, it's only in my brain. Then the judge should say ok, then do the drill/needle test, deep into his brain to the amygdala extracting some fluid to test. That's where we need to go with this. Because if you can pull fluid out, you can inject medicine in, bypassing the blood-brain barrier.
Would result in rapid reduction in trolling, crime, addiction, drug use, domestic violence, depression, suicide, angry rap music and impressionist paintings.

I want people to find a cure for t though, because I am worried by the possibility of it modifying behavior.
I have a cat and if I were infected that way then I dhad by know how toxoplasmosis could effect a person in their teenage years withy a developing brain. I don’t know if it would have a greater effect on those who’s brain is still developing versus those who have fully developed brains.

What is the treatment for toxoplasmosis? My dad had chimiotherapie and right after that, he is discovered with toxoplasmosis at the right eye. I have a cat but she doesnt go outside the flat. I m scared about the consequences.
The treament of acute toxoplasmosis is usually the combination of pryrimethamine + sulfadiazine. But I'm pretty sure this isn't news to your dad's doctors.
Latent toxoplasmosis has no reliable cure at the moment.
He must to have 2 analyses [ blood analyses] tot determine if he has from long time ago or recently. Although, is not a good thing considering his condition. Thx for you reply
