After years of focusing on the best games for the NES, I decided to change gears and focus on lesser known cartridges that have, for one reason or another, generally escaped the public discussion and general nostalgia. This series highlights many of the relatively unknown, obscure, and unloved titles in the Nintendo Entertainment System's library. Some of these games are at best mediocre. Many are painfully bad, some of the worst NES games around. Most are hilarious for all the wrong reasons! Occasionally, OCCASIONALLY, a handful of them are actually good, borderline hidden gems.
While you won't find any of these on the NES Classic, some of these titles have managed to make their way onto the Nintendo Switch, so if you don't have an original Nintendo console or ROMs escape you ethically or technologically, there are several ways to play them.

a pretty weird one but I suggest you play 'Toki' haha. the atmosphere of the game was strange even back when we'd rent it as kids
FYI, speedrunners just use Captain America the whole game and heavily lean on his dash & the downward shield stomp from his jump; those deal more damage than the standard shield toss and way more damage than Hawkeye's arrows. You're basically right about Hawkeye sucking, which is also kind of true in the arcade version of this (where Iron Man & Vision are OP due to their beam attacks) as well as the Sega Spider-Man arcade beat-em-up.

Aaaand yup that's what I thought. This game is heinously brutal. You even mention how its a game that is an endurance run. It is just going to beat you down every chance it can get taking the most damage it can give you.
Little Nemo is actually way more fair by comparison. I beat it as a kid which should be a sign to you that its not too bad.
I enjoyed this stream. The game is a slog. A lot of grinding (intentionally and unintentionally).I liked it when I had it. It would be much easier if it had a password system. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Its absolutely brutal in a one shot type of situation. Everything is better equipped than the characters. Once the lock on shots start happening you're going to die. You pretty much have to lean way more on cap at one point than hawkeye and hawkeye is himself too weak but has the better too. But the shield becomes your crux in this game. Its such a chore.
