    Great light, works better than my 3000 Lumina G20

    Nice review. Thanks. Sooo hard to find everything in one torch. Great light, possibly my favorite (of many:), but damn the pocket clip and the crap dust cover which appears to be designed to disappear making the water proofing a moot point.

      WR is alright but the cover isn't as good as it should be. I suspect most will at worst drop it in a puddle v a swimming pool or higher depth. They have improved a bit in recent times

    A. release it without further action and the side switch deactivates

    got mine from ages ago and can't remember which way the battery goes in, was hoping you'd show it, I'm guessing positive into torch with negative to the tail cap?

    Im just curious, is the side switch and primary rear switch made of rubber or plastic? Im curious because I prefer the tactile feel when switching of plastic than the mushy feel of rubber.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 лет назад +2

      Hi Oliver the side switch is made of metal as is the paddle on the back/tail cap. The back switch has a silicone cover (most makers seem to use this instead of rubber) doesn't really feel mushy you have a definite click action but they do vary between makers some go for plastic for a tail cap button. If I were being picky the tactical ring doesn't lock off it rotates might be by design (XT11S does lock) I prefer to be able to lock it.
      Hope that helps

    Outstanding review, thank you. I went for the GT. I guess the S it's more tactical and for protection purposes. On the test it seems to me that the S is a bit less useful and the beam it's so concentrated that you can't actually see what you are point at if that makes sense? I can't wait to receive my GT.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 лет назад

      Hi thanks for the comment I have improved considerably since this was made, but glad it was of use. S has a tighter beam pattern and a bit more range, some like that most tactical torches have more range than spread. With video it's difficult (even with a good camera) to show the beam as the eye sees it because they don't let as much light in, so there is more in the shadows than shows up. For this reason I now add sometimes still photos as they give a much better idea of the beam and illumination (not limited by a min shutter as video is)
      GT has more power quite a bit and spreads out more, it's one of the most popular models I've used and I think a very solid choice, I think you will like it.

    At which point of batery life it still safe to use turbo mode?

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  5 лет назад +1

      There is no safety element because if it can't hit turbo is will drop down, or it just won't hit it if the cell is very low

    Hi! Does it have a constant strobe or the strobe starts to slow down after a few seconds? Thank you!

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  6 лет назад

      It doesn't slow down after a few seconds it keeps the same speed

    • @mcmneverreadsreplys7318
      @mcmneverreadsreplys7318 4 года назад

      @@MrBazReviews Mine modulates. Once the strobe locks on AND the flipper is released, it begins to rotate between two patterns - fast and slow - every 2 or 3 seconds. I kinda like that it does this.

      As a self-defense blinding device: It is still powerful, but since the contrast with surrounding light is not as great the blinding effect is also lessened (sorry, that's the way eyes work.) In any case, the closer the target is to the light source, the more effective the light will be. At most attack distances it will still get you a 'turn-away' flinch, giving you two or five extra seconds to act.

    Is this original klarus flashlight or a similar made in China?

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  6 лет назад +1

      Of course it is the original from a Klarus dealer. All these lights are made in China that is where the makers are based

    It can't even reach 2000Lm with the included battery..? Wow

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 лет назад +1

      The included cell is an IMR one you can only hit the highest output with an unprotected cell. I've not measured the output because it's not possible to do so accurately without proper equipment (and no an ebay light meter and pipe isn't going to do it not properly). It's certainly brighter than the 1300/1600lm torches I've used if it's exactly 2000lm hard to say it ain't far off that I can say

  • @jasonmiller6200
    @jasonmiller6200 5 лет назад +2

    Why couldn’t they add 1 more level between 2,000 and 400?? That’s just a stupid design. I guarantee they would sell more if they had a 700 or 800lm level.

    • @Soandnb
      @Soandnb 5 лет назад +2

      Light is perceived logarithmicly, so something that is 1,000 lumens will appear twice as bright as something that is 100 lumens. As someone who frequently uses the 300 lumen mode of my flashlight for work, boosting it up to 1,200 has very little difference. Level differences increasing in multiples of 4 or 5 make sense.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  Год назад

      Just imagine those flashlights were made in Britain. Half of them wouldn't work straight out of the box and the other half would break within a week's time, LOL & ROFL.
