Start small! One or 2 challenges decide ahead of time. Don't feel like you have to save $100/$150 each week 'because that's what everyone else does' nope nope nope. If you're just starting out take what you're budget can afford. If it's only $10 for the whole month you're starting. You'll figure out what your budget can handle and what it can't. Challenge yourself to spend $10 less your grocery budget for 4 weeks and use that for the challenge money. Take it out of your grocery budget before you even go to the store. So you have to spend less. I promise you won't notice, in fact it will probably keep you from impulse purchasing. >double win

Managed $25 for hello honey! For the new bees, it's easy to get carried away with savings challenges and want to start with a lot or something big like 100 envelopes. If you have and are getting discouraged it's okay to stop and start something smaller for a quick win to build up to those longer and more money intensive challenges😊 Remeber nobody budgets or saves perfect the first time this is a financial journey, so their may be some false starts a long the way, what's important is to keep trying!!
Love this comment! Dave Ramsey actually says the same thing about “mess ups” he calls them. When you first start budgeting, it will take AT LEAST 3 months to learn and correct. It’s absolutely a learning curve. Starting small is great advice! 🙌

I actually did really good with checking my car insurance. I lucked out early on in getting a low cost insurance when I first moved into the area where I still live now. Every time I've compared prices, it's been the lowest. However, I've never had an accident or needed road side assistance since having this insurance. I always had this gnawing fear in the back of my head that if something happened on the road, I'd find out that low cost insurance is no bueno after all. A couple weeks ago, I got a flat while traveling and had to use the road side assistance. Turns out, it was GREAT! They had a tow truck out to me within half an hour and the guys worked really hard and fast to try and fix the tire. It couldn't be fixed so they got my spare on and I was able to drive myself to the tire place to replace it. But I no longer have that gnawing fear in the back of my head about whether or not I could depend on my low cost insurance/ roadside assistance! YAY and WHEW!! All that said- it still is a good plan to once in a while check out your options and see if you can get a better deal and save some moola!!

You can print at Staples for .20 cents a page, library will usually print for free or maybe ask a friend to print for you. I hope you can get them printed! 💛

IMO- a SC is a contract you have made with yourself- just like a monthly budget. You now have a goal written down on a piece of paper. Moving $ from checking to savings doesn’t have quite the same level of evaluating your own performance. You have set a goal and the SC is the system to get there. You’re bringing a solution to a problem. There are so many reasons that starting a SC gives you accountability and shows your willingness to be accountable - to yourself. Thanks for watching !

April’s intentions were to start a monthly one for you guys but right after that- she really started to feel bogged down and strapped for time. It’s funny cause I think how most of us CAN afford to put away more than we do, but we don’t - because we don’t want to give up that cash to savings or debt. We want to hold onto it and keep it in our checking. I am guilty, guilty, guilty. 😂 I’ve been trying to flip that mindset and keep checking low and savings high because what ends up happening is- I end up spending more because more is in my “spend” account!!!! So our basic necessities are not cheap like the rent and utilities and there is little I can do besides move when it comes to that but my job is here so 😂 BUT with all the little savings tips and tricks I've been learning recently and with your weekly mini challenges I have socked away a decent amount too. We as a family have sacrificed a few things we normally would do like go to the movies in favor of cheaper or free entertainment. I may save less strictly once we fill up the emergency fund and pay off the credit card debt but for now we are cheaparinos 😂
You two are amazing! I love that you are in this together and saving as a family. That’s going to really show up in your lives… in so many ways. Jason and I were just talking about how on FB - everyone is on some vacation, at Disney, out on their boats, etc… And Jason makes very good income and we are basically debt free - and we aren’t doing any of that. I told Jason , we have to remember OUR goals and where we want to be in 5 years, 10 years and beyond. My son is an active duty Marine and he got us an America the Beautiful pass (lol discounttttt) so we can go to all the national and state parks for basically no cost for a day trip. Just paying for gas and we can bring snacks from home. Basically we can drive over to Malibu and have a nice swim day or head up to sequoia and overnight for next to nothing. And it's still a vacation 😁 Finding ways to enjoy life on the cheap is crucial when paying off debt 😊

It’s funny cause I think how most of us CAN afford to put away more than we do, but we don’t - because we don’t want to give up that cash to savings or debt. We want to hold onto it and keep it in our checking. I am guilty, guilty, guilty. 😂
I’ve been trying to flip that mindset and keep checking low and savings high because what ends up happening is- I end up spending more because more is in my “spend” account!!!! I could have saved it!!! I’m tripping myself up! 😂😂😂😂
@@2SisterBees absolutely! I have a decent income but my family and I live in an expensive area. So our basic necessities are not cheap like the rent and utilities and there is little I can do besides move when it comes to that but my job is here so 😂 BUT with all the little savings tips and tricks I've been learning recently and with your weekly mini challenges I have socked away a decent amount too. We as a family have sacrificed a few things we normally would do like go to the movies in favor of cheaper or free entertainment. I may save less strictly once we fill up the emergency fund and pay off the credit card debt but for now we are cheaparinos 😂

Jason and I were just talking about how on FB - everyone is on some vacation, at Disney, out on their boats, etc…
And Jason makes very good income and we are basically debt free - and we aren’t doing any of that. I told Jason , we have to remember OUR goals and where we want to be in 5 years, 10 years and beyond. A picture of myself at Disney ain’t it! 😂😂😂

@@2SisterBees we are the scrooge mcducks of the block. We want to be able to swim in loot 😂 but seriously saving has become sort of a game to us in a way. My son is an active duty Marine and he got us an America the Beautiful pass (lol discounttttt) so we can go to all the national and state parks for basically no cost for a day trip. Just paying for gas and we can bring snacks from home. Basically we can drive over to Malibu and have a nice swim day or head up to sequoia and overnight for next to nothing. And it's still a vacation 😁 Finding ways to enjoy life on the cheap is crucial when paying off debt 😊
