I can vouch for both the black bean brownies and the pudding. My recipe for brownies is almost identical, and we've been making them for years. I've fooled many a non-vegan with them! We also make the tofu "pudding" and serve it with coconut whipped cream. If it's a special occasion, I'll put it in a graham cracker crust and turn it into a "French Silk Pie". Both desserts are awesome!
Love this!!❤️
Yes they are.
I really love the format of the videos. It is so nice to see the full recipe process and then get your explanation, especially when it comes to substitutions. High quality work and I totally appreciate it!! Thanks so much!
Best chef running the RUclips Highway! Thank you for your stellar recipes!
🙏🏾
You are such a natural presenter, storyteller, and healthy chef!
I've made black bean brownies and can confirm they are very "health food" tasting. Having said that, a lot of people like them! The tofu pudding on the other hand, cheeeeeefs kiss!
🙌🏾
That second recipe especially looks awesome - I'm a huge fan of mousse / ganache / cheesecake textured desserts. Gonna have to give it a try sometime!
its been clutch when im really missing that airy delight!
Try adding a little (or alot) of cayenne pepper and cinnamon. The cayenne makes the chocolate linger on your tongue and the cinnamon pairs well with chocolate.
I make a very similar brownie BUT I add a good tbsp of espresso coffee powder. Trust me, it's a winner. And a little sprinkle of coarse salt at the end, for serving 😉
As soon as you pulled them black beans out I HAD to pause the video and prepare myself for this one…. SERIOUSLY, I can’t wait to see how they turn out.. I actually want to try this
I've been wanting to do a bean brownie recipe but I can't eat beans. No matter what I do to the beans, they give me terrible gas. But, I just recently found out about tepary beans through Ramona Farms. I just ordered some and will give them a try, they are not suppose to produce gas like regular beans/legumes. If they work, then I will try this recipe...looks good!
that sounds tough, i hope those ones you found work out for you!❤️
These look really good, I might add some macadamias in with brownies cause dark chocolate and macadamia nuts are a match made in heaven.
🙌🏾 so tru!
I love brownie and I'm chocoholic! Thank you for sharing. For your brownie recipe I used canned red kidney beans instead of black beans and it is really good!
Thats awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I swear if you ever make a cookbook please let us all know. Because that would be epic. X
I love this post!
New to your channel and im am so happy I came across it! Im ready to eat and recreate everything I see!
An inspiration to cook more healthy meals!
I just found your channel and I'm so in love with your presentation as well as your recipes! And - you are so interesting to listen to as well. Love your descriptions! Can't wait to see your next video!!
thank you so much!🙏🏾
I love how accessible your recipes are and also delicious ( I've been trying them out recently) and maybe it's the way you present it but it doesn't seem overwhelming. Favorite vegan RUclipsr!
you are really inspiring. Thank you very much. It makes life nicer to see your way of telling things.
Andrew I'm not a big sweet guy but when I do get the craving I'm going to try that pie recipe. Looks delish
YUM! I am enjoying your videos - I have a regular blender & the cashews will be staying somewhat chunky - My usual pudding recipe: 3 bananas, silken tofu, and a 1/2 tsp of almond extract - blend it & I add blueberries to mason jars and top them with the tofu pudding - it's a tasty snack to take to work:)
I've really gotta try making black bean brownies, and your recipe seems my kind of simple!
Love watching your videos! So instructive and funny at the same time 😊 BTW I just watched with my mom (we're both vegan ✌ ) Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful and nutritious recipes 🙏🙏🙏
🤗 thank you so much! Love that you watched with mom. there's something really beautiful about that.🙏🏾
These recipes are perfect for my current diet
That visual picture of the rainy day the Window, bakery shop scene was epic🤣👏👏🖐
OMG! I Absolutely love these snacks and the information along with it. Thank You! Thank You. I really need to increase my Protein, so definitely making them. Take care.
You are so welcome!
@@thenarddogcooks I just made the brownies and they came out GREAT!😁 Thank you again.
Wait....What?! Black beans?! Intrigued and scared at the same time 😂🤭 will try, I trust you hahaha. He said it doesn't taste beany 😅 The chilli was wonderful btw. 🧡
I've made black bean brownies before, they are legit! Although I haven't tried Andrew's recipe, but the ones I made did have a more grainy texture IIRC, but still tasted good, which is awesome considering the huge increase in healthiness
In my experience, make sure you let bean desserts cool completely, maybe even a few hours in the fridge also after they've cooked. It changes the flavor and taste entirely from a kinda-too-mushy-what-is-that-taste square, to a legit perfect flavor miracle. Be patient and you won't be have to go through the initial WHAT DID I DO shock haha
@@sammakesitsimple thanks for the tip, good to know 😊
I was too but they are pretty good! Looks like some really great tips below.🙌🏾 awesome to hear you tried it out!!
These look delicious. Trying the brownie recipe with the applesauce! Added protein powder instead of maple syrup! I could just eat the batter it was so good! Can't wait to get them out of the oven and try them! Thank you!
I used a nut crust and this pie was a hit with non-vegans at our family gathering.
Thank you for the ‘dry’ bean tip! 😊👍
Looking forward to the video you mentioned at the end. I truly enjoy the knowledge you share!!
I'm so excited to get all the ingredients to make a batch or two of these. Thanks for sharing😉 Peace, love, and blessings to you and your family.
This is exactly what I needed today, thank you 😃
nailed it!🙌🏾
That chocolate pie looks good! I am going to try a variation with some PB2 and fruit instead of chocolate, or a swirl of PB and chocolate.
that sounds delicious!
Please let us know the end result :)
Can’t wait to make these at the weekend! Give me all the desserts 🙌🏼 also interested to see non-recipe video with your take on protein / macros / plant based fitness since you got Bob and Fred bulging out the sleeves there ready to go 😂
Yoooo these desserts look amazing! I'm looking forward to trying them!
'protein' in 'Desserts'??! *click!*
and I love the way the bit of oats smoooothly disappears from the table at 0:21 😊
gotta keep the table clean 😁
I'm not vegan and not fond of cooking but your recipes looks easy and delish. I'm inspired.
Vegan 💪🏽
I need to try this
I found you two days ago. I love you!
A little tip to make grease proof paper easier to handle, scrunch it up in a ball then unfold it. It'll form to the tin much easier.
Curious about going vegan, loving these dishes
Delicious 😋
hehehe.. I believe the expression is "you can't squeeze blood from a stone" .... right?!
Love your channel, I've been vegan for over17 years now, got my vegan chef certificate years ago so it's nice to see you and your wife going mainstream with all this great knowledge and the delicious recipes!
Looks amazing! And seeing the Walmart bag of chocolate chips and this elegant dessert & classy video made me chuckle 😂
Love! Have to try sometime!
So we are just not going to talk about the oven mits at 6:11? I am new here 🤣 and I had to pause and go back.
Really kewl thanks
this is making me hungry....
I admire your consistent recipes for vegan food. You've taught me a lot thus far and I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. I do have a question though. What is your beard regimen? It looks great and very healthy!
Thanks for the amazing recipes!
Brownies, now you talking 😆🤣😂🥰🥰🥰🥰👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
THANK YOU
Good yummmmy mmmmoanin..❤️❤️brownies… side note, apple sauce could replace any butter 🙏🏼🙏🏼👑
Hello! Please, I have a question 😊 I'm from Brazil and we don't usually buy beans in cans. We usually cook them with salt and garlic and have it with rice. So, my question is: how do I cook my beans for this reciepe? Just water and a pinch of salt? Water only? Can you help me?
Call him Saint Bernard! Lol
I’M STOKED ABOUT THE BROWNIE RECIPE! 🫠✨
Thank you
Hello
I put the juce of one orange into the first recype

Rien à dire, très bien préparé les deux desserts sont délicieux moi j'adore 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
🙏🏾 thank you
The captions really said, “nuts dropping.”😂
Splendido, Bernie! ⚜️
I always want to try the black bean brownies, but am nervous. You’ve helped me to rip the band aid off and give them a whirl!
🙌🏾 try them out, Lara! You got this!
@@thenarddogcooksI am going to make them this week, only cause I know you wouldn’t steer me wrong!
I made them and they are amazing!! Thanks for encouraging me!
@@thenarddogcooks , I wanted you to know I’ve made those black bean brownies twice now. What fudgy goodness they are! Thanks for encouraging me to make them!
I love your meals...can you do a week worth of meal perp..is that possible with veggie
I can. Ill note for future video ideas!
Those brownies... Wondering how dates might be incorporated. Dates would certainly kick up to gooowy factor and natural sweetness. This recipe also has me wondering why I spend $37 on a jug of Michigan maple syrup! UGH! And... You had me at the second round of chips on top :). I was like.... YAAAAAAASSSSS Andrew! Your story reminded me of the Rupert Holmes Escape song.... Do you like beeeeeeeaaaaaaan brownies bum bum and gettin' caught in the rain? BAHAHAHAHAHA! It also reminded me of Michigans Mackinac Island and watching people make fudge through the shop window at the end of the tourist season. Don't worry friend, I would share my umbrella. Walnuts would add more protein and a healthy dose of Omega 3's. The pie.... You had me at a bag of chips, cashews and chill... PEEEAAAAAAACCCCCE!
The song had me 😂 . OMG, maple syrup is so pricey but i watch the process of how it is made at a farm and gotta say... IT MAKES COMPLETE SENSE WHY IT COSTS. oh yea... #alwaysdoublethechips! im always so mesmerized when it comes to watching food made or displayed. hopefully an umbrella will save me next time i get stuck "window eating".
@@thenarddogcooks As a kid I grew up on a dairy farm in MI. One of the things I did as a business venture was tap the maple trees on the farm and sold the sap to a local sugarbush. During peak season I would collect 1,000+ gallons a day. The process is no joke. I treat every drop of syrup like it's some sort of liquid currency.
You’re like beast boy from teen titans with the tofu. I love it
Looks delicious and healthy 😋
Fantastic, I have tried! Now I have cookies which I take to work.❤
next dessert video, should include "chocomole!" from avocados!
hell yeah! 🤤
My son has a sweet tooth and loves those icing topped cookies at the grocery. Can you make a healthy dupe?
In the chocolate pie recipe, can you use cocoa powder instead of melted vegan chocolate chips? If so, what is the amount of cocoa powder to use in that substitution? I can get sugar-free vegan chocolate chips, which is awesome, but if I can use cocoa powder to get the chocolatiness, that is preferred. TYVM for the video!
Hey! You could but you'd also need to add sugar or another sweetener to counterbalance the bitterness of the cocoa powder. Unfortunately, I haven't tested this recipe to have a recommendation. I'd start with about 1/4 cup of sweetener with at least 1/4 cup of cocoa powder
idgi are the black beans coming from a can??? what makes them wet in the first place? u got to cook them first?
What can vanilla bean powder can be substituted with? I am in Sweden and it is crazy expensive here plus the only way to get it is by shopping online😬
andrew, these recipes looked incredible but it's ESPRESSO powder!! trust me, i was the same way calling it expresso for so long😅 such an easy mistake though no worries!
I'm not dessert mad but that looks really nice and moist. I was also wondering what do you use on your beard to get it like that. From here it looks very soft and extremely well groomed. Any tips mate?
Yea, of course. I use pure shea butter and coconut oil and style from there.
Hi ! How many time do you bake the brownie and to which temperature, please ? :)
Have a good day :)
Recipe in the description box or here: makeitdairyfree.com/healthy-vegan-black-bean-brownies-oil-free/
Can you use chickpeas instead?
i havent tried it with chickpeas. i hope to have a chickpea variation in the future.
I would love to try these recipes but one question. Do you get any hint of the tofu flavor in the pie?
No. The chocolate does a great job of masking that flavor
Did you use can black beans? Or did you cook your own? If cooked, did you add sea salt or cooked them plain?
good question: i do both. Canned, i used straight. Cooked, i cook season-less, wait about a day or more prior to use
Greetings!!
Thank you so much, I absolutely love you and this channel. Tell me a little bit about why you use Tofu? This question is based off of all the bad information that is provided about Tofu that is sold in the US.
I love how you present your videos and you’re pretty damn funny too!! Thank you
Peacefully
Robin
Thank you so very much, Robin! 🤗
Looks like I found the comment so Ill add what i shared to the other question i saw your comment at as that will answer the "why" question you have and share a bit more on the US piece. See below:
Im not one who tries to change anyones mind. I do my best to provide facts/information/references/etc and from there wish for you to make the best decisions for you and yours. With that said Ill share my awareness on tofu and why I have it in my diet.
High in protein, low in carbs, low in fat. Has calcium, manganese, copper, vitamin A, iron and several other vitamin/minerals while containing all the essential amino acids the body needs. Like MOST PLANTS it has anti-nutrients also. Im not entirely sure if this is what you mean, when you say "steals your minerals". Basically the anti-nutrients reduce the absorption of vitamins and minerals but it not a huge concern for people who eat a varied balanced diet. Plus if you cook, soak, ferment or sprout your plants (not just tofu), you can reduce the anti-nutrients.
In conclusion you can see a lot of plants "steal your nutrients" or minerals. Just keep a balanced diet (eat the rainbow).
As for the Tofu in the US, the only reason i have ever heard, read or witness as possibly valid is that the Tofu in the US is GMO. To that the answer is simply buying Non-GMO or Organic tofu. This way you save the hassle of your body dealing with what they may put in the GMO versions. Thank you, Robin! Hope this helps out on why I choose it.
@@thenarddogcooks
Thank you so much Andrew!! I know better than to ask a question without really backing it up!! I appreciate your answer and I do purchase the non GMO organic tofu. I’m also a 4 yr cancer survivor soooo I have heard it’s not a good product for cancer. I’m not looking for a response just chatting. I do eat tofu maybe once per month. I’m pretty healthy, no pork since I was 11, no red meat since 18, was a vegan 20 years ago. Been mostly vegan for the last 3 years!! Damn cheese and 1/2 & 1/2 with my coffee!! Okay I’ll be quiet now!! Your recipes certainly help me to do my vegan thing a whole lot easier!! Thank you again ! YOU ARE INSPIRING and not to mention easy on the eyes!! No worries I’m a little old gma here😂😂😂I’m a photographer too!! and studying to be an end of life Doula!! My goal is to bring birth and death together!! Damn I’m done
You’re #1 fan😂😂
Peacefully
Robin
My eyes just had dessert for breakfast.
😂
I’m gonna give the brownies a try tomorrow! What could I use in place of the tofu in the chocolate pie? I love the idea of making it as mousse. I make a killer homemade pie crust though. Thanks!
I did a quick search, looks like applesauce can be used as a replacement for tofu? I’m gonna try it and will report back!
Try sweet potato instead. I don't think applesauce would work, especially not for creaminess or holding up as a mousse, but sweet potato would be a good substitute, minus the peel.
Hey! for the tofu replacement, i would use something more firm that will setup. I agree trying out the sweet potato although it wont come out as airy and i havent tried it myself. I would also say avocados. I wouldnt do apple sauce though. Its going to come out more heavy. if you made Aquafaba before i have a recipe that would come really close to this tofu one. Its here makeitdairyfree.com/vegan-chocolate-mousse/#recipe you could use this to replace the filling entirely and i know that works.
thank you for sharing!
@@thenarddogcooks Thanks for suggestions. I might try pumpkin!
I am new here so forgive my ignorance.. are the black beans dry beans or canned beans?
Love these! Is the tofu silken, or firm? Thanku!
It's Silken
@@thenarddogcooks thanku!!
Black beans are raw or boiled?
Has anybody tried using a grain-free flour for this recipe? If so, how did it turn out? I cannot eat any whole grains.
Why oat flower and not white?
What can be substituted for the tofu and soy milk?
Banana milk, oat milk coconut milk should work
any non-dairy milk works. the tofu i havent sub before so i could only say avocado would be the most similar or use this recipe makeitdairyfree.com/vegan-chocolate-mousse/#recipe instead
Where can i find the print version of.this video?
hey! i just want to make sure i understand. do you need a transcript of this video or recipes from this video you can print? if you email me at andrewsveganfood@gmail.com i can help you! 🤗
😋
Possible to use canned kidney beans instead?
?Where can I see a full written recipe
No eggs 💕💕
Very beautiful set-up. A great addition with your personal stories within the recipies. Looking forward to try them.
You said:
"You cant make blood out of stone". That made me think about this:
Christ is the living Stone. People did not accept him. But God chose him. God places the highest value on him. 1. Peter 2:4
And that stones blood save us from our own sins.
👍🏽
🤔 Is there a gas factor in these brownies 😂❤
Great dessert recipes…and what an epic beard
Brown sugar, maple syrup, and chocolate chips are a lot of sugar. Still looks good though
I don't "enhance" chocolate with coffee. Food intolerance to coffee.
