The Stockholm bloodbath of 1520. Where the danish king Christian II who ruled both Sweden and Denmark ordered the execution of over 100 high ranked Swedish aristocrats, nobles and even clergy in a desperate attempt to scare the swedes into submission after several anti danish rebellions. The hopes were that it would eliminate those powerful enough to rise up and make the people to scared to rebel.
The exact opposite happened as the son of one of the nobles that were murdered in the bloodbath used it to rally a rebellion that eventually lead to the Danes being ousted and the rebellious noble. Gustav Vasa became king of an independent Sweden.
The danish King's drastic attempt to stop rebellion instead caused it leading to him losing Sweden.

Emus are pretty overpowered. I heard that it took a whole round just to kill one because of how how small its organs are. Making it harder to hit the actual organs.
doesnt helps that if sam'onella info was right - then it was just 3 guys trying to hunt them, a lot of ammo but very little manpower against a lot of emus

Their 1977 album "Animals" was to feature a flying pig on the cover, for which a 12-metre (40-foot) helium-filled pig-shaped balloon (named "Algie"), designed by band-member Roger Waters. The balloon was to be flown over Battersea Power Station in London.
On the first day of the photo-shoot, a marksman was present to shoot the balloon down should it break free from its tethers. However, the pig was not launched that day.
On the second day of the photo-shoot, the marksman was not present as he had not been asked to return.
It was at this point that Murphy's Law ("If anything can go wrong, it will!") made itself known, as on the third day a strong gust of wind dragged the balloon from its tethers. The balloon disappeared from sight for 5 minutes, and was spotted by airline pilots flying at 30,000 feet. Flights into and out of Heathrow Airport were cancelled or diverted as a result of the balloon straying into flight paths.
The balloon was taken eastwards out over the English Channel, before being dragged back over the Kent countryside, and finally landing at a local farm, from where it was retrieved and repaired.

Ah yes, the famous Roman emperor living under the Roman republic. I know it's a common mistake, but it still baffles me each time: Caius Julius Caesar was never an emperor, the Roman empire was established after his death. He was acclaimed as "Imperator" a prestigious title for Roman generals and the main prerequirement for a triumph and the latin for imperator is the root for "Emperor", but it's not the same things.
This reminds me of an old Dilbert comic I read once.
Dilbert’s boss thinks that he can increase employee productivity by using an electric cattle prod. But when he uses it on Dilbert, he’s the one that gets electrocuted. As it turned out, he was holding on to the metal end and had pressed the rubber end to Dilbert. The final panel shows the pointy-haired boss walking away burned and electrocuted while thinking to himself, “Mental note: Hold the RUBBER end.”
Just a minor correction Ceasar was never an emperor and when he was kidnapped we doesn't have a significant political career yet, but the story is more interesting he treated his captors like his personal body guards, read poetry to them when he is bored and mocked them as barbarians for not appreciating it, when they exercise he competed with them and he constantly remind them that he will crucify them all after getting released without even a significant political role he rushed to a near village and raised a small fleet which then he led to the pirate island
Yep... Not only was he never an emperor, Rome had not even yet had its first emperor when he was assassinated.

All Barbra Streisand had to do was ask the photographer to remove the photo privately and the whole situation would’ve been avoided. If the photographer refused then she had the rights to sue.
She did ask privately, he refused. She did sue him, lawsuits are public record, that's how everyone found out. She lost the lawsuit because the exterior of your home has no right to privacy so long as it's being viewed or photographed from a public location.
You seem to have completely misunderstood the entire situation.
The photograph was part of a series examining coastlines, her house wasn't even identified, it was just one of many along that particular coast in the series. Even the photographer didn't know who's house it was until she contacted him and then sued him.
He wasn't going to have a hole in his coastline images by removing it and she had no legal grounds to have it taken down.
She should have just shut up and ignored it and no one would even know who owned the house, just like none of the other coastal homes were identified.
It was an ecological study, not a series of home photos, the focus was the coastline, not the homes.
The photoshop guy clearly has people knowing what they are getting themselves into and wanting his awesome brand of humor on their photos!

The cane toad problem in Australia is actually in Queensland not Western Australia. They have started to spread to the northern Territory and new south Wales but Western Australia is just too far away for them to spread and the climate is to dry, Australia is around 70% desert and south Australia is the driest state in the driest continent in the world.

In feb 1958, a mid air collision between an f-86 fighter and a b-47 bomber meant the crew jettisonned the bomb over tybee island into the water. It was never found. Here in the USA Emu's were imported and sold as an investment. You could raise them in a back yard like chickens. Soon people that purchased the Emu's found there was nothing that could be used to produce a profit from them. As a result the people that had them simply released them to roam free. Now we have Emu's roaming wild and causing problems.
As an Australian who studied the emu war, emus ran very fast, many of the emus died, and it took nearly 25 bullets just to kill 1.

It was 2 people with machine guns, emus can take multiple bullets, and still run at 40mph, and they were not technologically advanced, they were using Lewis guns that were made before WW1, about 3 decades ago, which due to their age constantly malfunctioned. Also we didn’t lose, we stopped fighting because we got fences good enough to stop the emus.
