    When did Jakob ever state that he would give the WR a shot at the Prefontaine? In the interview I watched with him he stated that he was looking to win the race.

      i believe either him or his father stated it just at the end of the olympics

      @@multechpro7151 Gjert stated that the following: "Han kan løpe under verdensrekorden. Jeg tror vi kan se 3.25 i løpet av et år eller to. Hvis han bestemmer seg, og det tror jeg han gjør."
      It translates to that Gjert believes Jakob can run 3.25 (for the 1500m) in a year or two.
      Jakob stated right after the Olympics in a (Norwegian) newspaper that he was tired after Tokyo. He was questioned if we could expect a WR attempt in the near future. His answer was no.

    I am guessing 3:46-47. His brother Philip has 3:49.

      It's very hard to call, who do you think will win between Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Timothy Cheruiyot?

    • @TimKnutsen
      @TimKnutsen 3 года назад

      @@runnerscentral8248 Cheruiyot seemed out of shape. Easy win for Jacob. And 3:47 time. Can easily be improved with better preparation.

      Yeah, I think Cheruiyot looked quite tired, and I think Jakob could go even faster like you said, but I thought Stewart McSweyn also did really well to get the silver medal.

    He's way too far from the record and will not break it neither now not the following years ,he's good but not good enough to break elguerrouj's outdoor records

    • @micahb8818
      @micahb8818 3 года назад +1

      He's only 20. Hicham El Guerrouj set the record when he was 25. There's still a good chance he can get close to it or beat it. Never say never.

      @runnerscentral8248  3 года назад +1

      I think because Jakob has been a world class runner for quite a few years now, a lot of people forget how young he is. In my opinion it will be very hard for Jakob to break El Guerrouj's world records, but like you said, he still has a chance!

    • @micahb8818
      @micahb8818 3 года назад +1

      @@runnerscentral8248 Agreed. It will be extremely difficult for anyone to break the record in the future. But as of now he obviously has the best chance.
