Did not work for moles. They just ran around it and all my flowers. However, I think the snakes do not like it. I only bought one. Plan to buy others. We live close to two ponds. Soooo, one in each garden and at the outside faucets would not be out of the question. Hoping this is true and not me just assuming because I haven't seen one means it is working. Good luck. Excited to see your results!

plant a wine bottle but leave the long neck out of the ground then put one of the kids whirlygigs on a stick in it. It echoes inside the bottle underground voles and such can’t take and they move on. The whirligig is so you see the neck and don’t hit it with the lawnmower lol. It really works

Oh no guys I had that issue too. They get use to it and it's just like music to their ears after a few weeks. You need to get sticky traps and bait them with juicy gum and basil leaves. I know it sounds weird but it works. Az was full of rodents this last year it was horrible. I replaced my entire garden twice buying started before I went to some older farmers for help.

My best friend used sound emitting repellents in the 200 year old farmhouse she rented and she loved them! She also used electric ones outdoors as well she had skunks, ground squirrels, rats, mice, and who knows what?? It worked well enough for her to have a huge garden and most of her garden thrived!

LOL! Wednesday night I transplanted a squash and a zucchini into an unused bed for my landlady. Thursday morning there was a curious "rose" of squash leave at the base of what used to be the squash plant where the gopher pulled the whole plant down his hole, but the leaves were too big to follow. Friday morning the entire zucchini plant was gone, and a small hill of dirt was all that was left! He figured out how to get those leaves through. That gopher is thinking, "At last, Uber Eats is in my neighborhood!"

Good luck and so happy it worked for you. We had massive gopher issues in our garden in Southern CA, the vibration sticks didn't help much. I lined some beds with metal cloth, which was great, but not workable everywhere, and we trapped them. I also recruited teen boys from church to drop any snakes (not rattlesnakes, haha) down the holes. That worked the best.

Zach don’t let your guard down. I used those years ago and after awhile I think they developed a tolerance to it because the mole tunnels were popping up out of the ground next to the sonic spike. I have mole issues though so not sure how much difference there is in response to the stake.

    • @abigailbelford883

In our area (7a) we have cut worms in the ground that will cut a young tomato plant off at the ground. To prevent this I place a small stick beside the plant. Some people wrap foil around the base of the plant. Just something so the cut worm can’t encircled the plant at the top of the soil.

Zach, I'm recommending you get a gardening auger to dig down in the ground!
I can't tell you how happy that THOSE solar in-ground pest deterants are doing their job for you guys 🎉🎉👍
Now about the gardening auger I was talking about, there's another RUclips presenter called Garden Answer. They live here in Oregon, where I'm at, but I'm on the west side of the state and they are within 5 minutes of being in Idaho. Anyway they do a lot of planting and they have different size augers that they attach to a cordless drill and absolutely go to town with drilling the holes they need to plant their things and so I am recommending you watch Garden answer and hopefully you can get something to help you dig as many holes as you could possibly need!

I just staked up my tomatoes today. My husband yells, "Hey, come look at this!" One of the stakes was violently rocking back and forth and eventually almost fell over! I went over there to see, and perhaps my footsteps made it go still. If I could have figured where the little sucker was, I would have stabbed it with the stake. These things seem to be the size of guinea pigs for as much dirt they have heaved up in my yard! We have armadillos too here in West Central Missouri. They can tear up a yard too!

I’ve only been subbed since the butthead tried to steal the animals... but even I know you don’t spit into the wind, you don’t pull on Superman’s cape and you don’t mess with Zach’s Xenia!

I ordered these solar repellents and just got them in the ground literally a few minutes ago. I'm praying they work because these little vermin are driving me mad.

We had 2 of those gadgets. They worked ... but they didn't. The moles/voles/whatever stayed away but the gadgets only last about one season. Another issue was that, when our son was taking care of things, he couldn't figure out why he was hearing a strange sound in the garden.

Good luck Zach! I bought the big ones that were battery operated and it didn’t help a bit. They only thing that has worked for me is castor plants!

We have been fighting moles digging under all my flower beds. They almost killed 2 of my huge blueberry bushes by tunneling under and exposing the roots to air underground which will kill any plant. And if that's not bad enough. Then the voles will go and use the moles tunnels and eat the roots of all your plants and bulbs. Its like an underground buffet. Then add to that the chipmunk/ground squirrels that look like chipmunks. And they make tunnels and dens underground. Then come up and eat your berries. GRRRRR I hate all of them. Almost 2 years ago we adopted 3 older cats from the shelter and that has cleared out all the chipmunk type critters. And they have caught a couple of moles and a bunch of voles. Yeah! You go kitties! Those underground pest critters can obliterate your whole garden. I have lived here on our homestead for 28 years now. When we had outside cats we didn't have those pest problems including mice and rats. But as our old outside cats died off from old age. We didn't have any for a couple years and we were overrun. Got the new cats. Now not so much. Kitties = no pests. All natural pest control.

2 things they work I had a mole problem bad so first I got rid of my grub worms with a organic pesticide mixed with cayenne pepper only one tx is all, then and they have never in 8 yrs later been back , is a metal windmill the blades are 8 inches long so it is not huge that is 10 foot tall above ground and 4 ft in ground placed in the center raised bed that has covered 5000 plus square feet, Amazon has them I think they are called mole repellent windmill it is quite and wind driven and the below ground section has a vibration design Zach this works so well good luck

moles eat a lot more than grubs. earthworms are a big part of their diet, so killing of grubs usually doesn't do it for most people.

I can't believe this worked but I am so happy for you! I wonder if they would work for rats. That is my biggest problem here in South OC, CA.
