Few years ago, I worked at a diner as a cashier for over a year without a raise. And then they hired a blonde tall beautiful white girl that I had to train. She proudly told me how much she was getting paid and when I realized she was getting paid more, I asked for a raise but they turned me down. So I left and never looked back. But I was shocked when they called me to come back to work because she stole every penny and disappeared. Ofcourse I again said no, never.

Non of that’s surprising. The thievery devoid of any consequences is another example of White Privilege unfortunately. However, had you stole anything you’d have been prosecuted expediently to the fullest extent of the Law. It’s a great thing that you quit never returning because you avoided easily becoming a “fall guy” for the blonde 👱‍♀️. All it takes is for one White to lie on an honest, innocent Black person-it’s a wrap 😬😩

Lets be honest, 99% of the problems in the black community is self inflicted. Babies out of wedlock, bad parenting or lack of, bad code of ethics. Look at the most successful group of Americans ASIAN MALES (Not White people), they are successful as a group because they prioritize a very disciplined lifestyle, they stay in school, they don’t gang bang, they take care of communities they live in. My grandmother grew up poor but they took care of their homes and community and kept it clean; they said when the blacks moved in they threw their trash everywhere and didn’t take care of their living areas. Black people bring it on themselves.

The “guilt complex” is also what walls most ‘white’ people from learning that racism is a systemic structure than a social construct. Yes, it can be applied in social situations but for these situations to take form it has to be a dominant power system that reinforces the idea of race domination in its own foundation. I have worked in sundown towns because I travel for work. The things I experienced in Indiana scared me.
1 example is, day we were leaving someone called the cops (in Bedford Indiana) on me and my wife because we were picking up rocks from the ditch in front of the hotel we were staying at . The hotel staff said it was fine. We were picking up rocks and fossils everytime we went outside and walked around.
Cop comes in behind me as I was pulling back into the parking lot to tie my tarp down to my truck bed.
The manager tells them that if they ever get a call about rocks, not to respond.
The cop looks at us and asks if it was us. The manager told him to leave. He still wanted to do something about it even though we had permission from the hotel to grab the rocks.
Another example is that same hotel manager warned me to not travel through Martinsville Indiana OMW home.
I ended up having to go south. We went through Orleans. That was scary as well.

Being nearly 65 years of age,I grew up with the outward forms of racial hatred and prejudice. It was in your face. But looking back as a Black person I realize the more softer and subtle forms of racism can be just as devastating. Even to the point of changing or shaping the trajectory of one's life. One experience from my own life. With the help of a white friend of my mother, our family made the decision to move into a predominately white neighborhood in the Bronx. My parents realized the housing conditions and educational system in our old predominately Black neighborhood were deteriorating. That was in September of 1967.I was 11years old about to enter the 6th grade. My new school had three 6th grade classes. My mother walked me to school and registered me.The only blip that I picked up on was when the person who registered us looked confused. You see my mother was a very fair French-speaking creole from Louisiana. She could easily pass for White.I looked Biracial. All the lady asked for was personal information and we were done.I was into my new class for 3 weeks until the first parent teachers meeting. My mother had a chance encounter with another white parent whose daughter was also in the 6th grade.I had gone to use the bathroom. When my mother mentioned that I was in class 6-3,the woman looked confused. Why my daughter is in class 6-1.Thats the top class, the woman said. Why did they put your son in 6-3?,thats where they put the Blacks and the Puerto Ricans. They could have put your son in the middle class6-2 if there was no room for 6-1.My mother saw me coming but motioned for me to stay put.My mother was beside herself. Please madame she said to her new friend, tell me more.Boy did she. When we returned home my mother was crying. I never imagined the classes were ranked from high to low,she said. You deserve to be in 6-1.Now she realized why the registrar didn't request my records from the previous 5th grade. Her mind was already made up as to my placement. If the registrar had looked, my reading and math scores were nearly perfect. My report card was excellent. The next day, with me in tow,my mother went back to the school and demanded to see the principal. She laid my school records on the desk. Now please put my son in 6-1 sir.Well Mrs. Griffith,Frederick has to take a mini math, vocabulary and reading comprehension test. Why wasn't i told this when I registered my son, she asked. The principal paused then said, well I leave that to the discretion of the registrar during your initial interview. I took the exam on the spot in another room. My mother and I sat there anxiously awaiting the results. Finally the principal returned. Mrs Griffith, I will make room for your son for 6-1.I don't think he will have any problem catching up to his classmates. I didn't get a single question wrong on the test.Perfect scores. The difference was like night and day.In the 6-3 class,I felt like I wasn't being challenged. The teacher was just going through the motions. In the 6-1 class I was challenged by the teacher and my classmates. I was the only Black kid in the class. I thrived.Come to find out this was an under the table Advanced placement class. These kids were already preparing for junior high and high school. I thrived. For the first time I felt like I was on equal footing with my White classmates and given the respect to go with it.My confidence and self esteem grew by leaps and bounds. Most of these kids were placed in the top 7th grade class in junior high school with the option of skipping to the 9th grade. I decided to go through the normal progression. But I believe that experience truly changed my life for the better. It changed my mother's life too.She decided to get involved in the school activities. After all even after I graduated from 6th grade,I still had a younger sister in the same school who was three years younger. At my 6th grade graduation, the principal shook my hand. Frederick, you and your mother have made me a better educator more than you know.Besides,he said, your mother and I had a nice one on one talk. When we returned home I asked my mother this.Mama what did you and the principal talk about?Oh a lot of things. But mainly the screening process of all new kids who transfer from other schools, she said. She told him straight up that she believed a lot of the Black and Spanish kids who were transfers were shortchanged and automatically put into the lower classes without talking into account their report cards and reading and math scores from the last grade. And that they should all be allowed to take the same mini exam that you took, she said. She added that the principal should take into account some of the language barriers of some of the Spanish kids at that time and to evaluate and give whatever help that might be needed. My mother didn't speak English until the age of 7 so she understood the challenges. She finally added that she believed the principal was a fair and decent person who wouldn't intentionally discriminate based on race but that he had an obligation to make sure that those he supervise don't do so as well.

And the need for POSITIVE RECIPROCAL REINFORCEMENT amongst the four pillars. In American society, its people are told that only the love, support and encouragement of a child's parents are all that is needed. Not from the family. NOT from the community. Not from the most important and powerful component, the society. Parents are expected to go at it alone. But parents need help once the child goes out the door. The more sources a human can get emotional support and encouragement from the better. But we have a society where those who are in positions of power to make a difference in a person's life are becoming more and more cynical and partake in the demonization of others. So now America is a breeding ground for neurosis and psychosis. It is not sustainable. And if this trend isn't reversed we will be on the verge of collapse.

There have been many times in history where revolutions have occurred to change the current system, only to not really address the problems are create new ones. America is a good example of this, it was founded under the ideas of personal liberty and a balanced govt to ensure personal freedoms. In spite of the fact Slavery was a thing, something which was acknowledged as an issue by the founding fathers. Or Soviet Russia, sure it overthrew the oppressive tsarist regime and the old ruling class but it was just replaced by an equally controlling and sometimes extremely violent totalitarian soviet regime with forced equality (unless you were the party elite ofc).

@thescottishanimeguy9946 I wish I had the answer to end racism of all kinds. Race, financial, and religion. As a kid and a Star Trek fan, I always admired how they were acceptable to all walks of life, human and aliens living and working together. Money wasn't a factor in services, work or housing. All primary purposes in life were universal, and the prime directive excluded religion and special groups. The focus was survival for ALL. I've always felt that special groups getting additional help only proved that everyone knows they were shorthanded from the start and now they need to catch up. Look at other countries with universal education and healthcare the competition of capitalism eliminated automatically. If we could replace the competiveness of capitalism with unity and universal primary services, I think that would be a great start. 👍 Greed, is the problem.

    • @thescottishanimeguy9946
      @thescottishanimeguy9946 3 месяца назад +1

@yogiegemini2053 Dude, I live in a country with universal health care and education. It has not solved our problems, it hasn't even come close. Sure, some were addressed, but it also opened up new ones. Granted, the UK has once far more Socialist but that model was abandoned in the 80s. It was abandoned for a reason, though, as the massive yogy spending led to ever growing debt and inflation.
Also, a lot of communist countries (at least in Europe) did allow for greater social security programs such as free hosing due to their total control over the economy. Despite this, they had much lower civil freedom and living standards overall lagged behind the west, a gap that only grew as the cold war dragged on.
I'm not being a naysayer, I do agree that more equal access to things is better than it being privatised. However, history has shown that this can fail for multiple reasons, and countries that have them continue to have problems. People aren't greedy because of the capitalist system, but merely because it's a human trait and any system has positions of power that can be exploited with greed.

Racism is fiendishly nebulous, Insidious and sticky. @@michelejennings7645 why would these few people that’ve been spending most their lives around campuses define truth for our society, especially when they have to change definitions and rely on personal experience to support their claims? When they won’t acknowledge dissent outside of criticism, then instinct tells me that it’s more so like a cultish ideal.
If you read the 60’s and 70’s books about critical race theory, then it blatantly describes the indoctrination, propaganda and true path to achieve. You could add Stokely Carmichael as well to understand why MLK Jr is not of reference anymore: peace and unity vs violence and segregation. If you learn about the German’s critical theory in the 30’s, then you can definitely see how they used the same techniques and got Hitler Youth when they labeled the majority as the “oppressed” in their reform to fascism. Took less than a decade of indoctrination and propaganda that got the population to look past the violence against multiple demographics, millions of people dead, in support of their ideals.
Critical race theory wants to use the population as the instrumental test, and it has to be sold through indoctrination and propaganda to do so. Even Thomas Edison had thousands of tests to get a light bulb to work. Really think we’d get it right the first time so that we don’t have millions dying from violence and/or hunger?
Because the majority of people in this country don’t like the idea of losing God-given rights for rights given by those in power, this will bring more violence. Some would be more equal than others (Orwell) in a chase for equity, which means equity fails again bringing equality down with it. If you’re not in that group of power, then you’re going right back to the bottom w/ new, most likely, rulers in a less efficient system. They may be more diverse though, so you’ve got that going for you.
There are too many people in this American bubble that have no relative reference of oppression. Even those that go out of the country stick to the tourist areas, which usually excludes oppressed areas, are blind to reality. These people (politicians) that you want controlling this caused Libya to bring slavery back. Nobody cares of course because it was Obama’s Admin. They’ve been running the world policing and drug war. Our current POTUS and VP both got separate legislations passed that caused an immense surge in blacks to be incarcerated for minor offenses. You really think these used-car salesmen aren’t focused on their profit? History proves that many put it before the welfare of people and state. Humans cannot run a system of power like this with any integrity, honor or efficiency.
We get those Star Trek replicators, then we can talk about socialism. Although, a society that CRT demands wouldn’t be nearly as quick in scientific progress. Either way, I’ll continue treating someone as an individual, which gives way to love.

We moved and lived in Germany right after we were married in 1978. In the USA I'm seen as a Mexican alien third class citizen according to my ethnicity, even though I'm an American. In Europe they treat me like everyone else. The world knows of Germany's and USA's' history of ethnic and racial genocide. Germans are aware, while Americans are not. Germany mass murdered about 6 million people, Americans about 20 million (Native Americans, African slaves and Asian railroad workers). Germans are ashamed, while it appears that Americans are not ashamed at all, they're even arrogant and prideful. Certain Americans in other countries are often called "ugly Americans". At first I didn't understand, but now I see what they mean. I think the people who made this documentary, specifically selected those that would be considered "ugly Americans" in other countries.

I am 65 years, seven months and 25 days as of this comment. I have earned everything and was never favored not only with non-Blacks but people in my own family. What I learned and witnessed is that people who did not earn are lesser appreciative and lesser responsible. Favoritism is an ism that is negative. These days and times are the total results as to why this world is so unhappy, deteriorating more faster. I thank God to be able to not think about getting away with destructive actions. Hospitals are filled with people who have mental as well as physical problems. One thing about the mind, it does not know the difference in colors of skin. The mi d is a terrible thing to waste, program and control. Being a Black person hearing about slavery since a little girl, I thank God for protecting me all the days of my life. We all eat, sleep, shit and piss. When those four functions are not working properly, it will be a problem. Those functions do not rely on the color of one’s skin. As for Whites to be treated better than me, that in itself is ludicrous. I can only treat myself better or worst. To treat me worst would be to cause bodily harm. The verbal derogatory words can be tuned out. So many Whites have passed down generational curses of living ignorantly. Looking across America, many neighborhoods are run down due to Whites utilizing their privilege to make this earth a better place. What good is selfish privilege? It really does nobody any good or respect. Overall do what it takes to keep it seriously simple as that is what true liberation, joy, peace and happiness is along with unconditional love. When time and energies are spent taking care of oneself, being racist would gradually disappear. I am thankful for this RUclips video that came on my feed minutes ago. I get to speak about the ignorance of what White privilege is and how it messed up and made many White folks miserable. Thanks for reading my comment. I know that I have done nothing deliberately myself to hurt anyone for the colour of their skin but what I have done is inadvertently repeat or accept racist tropes and an attitude of white supremacy within the culture I was educated and raised in.
I am a rational human being and want to do better than in the past and I am ready to be taught by the black and brown skinned people in the Western hemisphere, particularly those whose ancestry is non European but they are nevertheless as British or German or whatever as any white person because they too imbibed the same cultural norms during childhood.
Sadly this implies that black and brown skinned people have historically been taught by the predominantly white culture they have found themselves in, that they are not as intelligent nor as important as their white countrymen and women.
We can do better now though. We really do not need to keep repeating the same old small minded mistakes.
We also have to accept that there are racists of every skin colour and culture and that such attitudes are a direct result of fear of the unknown and a fear of often meagre resources being expropriated.
America is still ridiculously racist and is blighted by a divided society afraid of one another. Here in the UK we have also sadly gone backwards. This is a direct result of the impoverishment of majority white communities and the divide and conquer strategy of the self interested elites.

I'm a "Black" woman in the United States. I hear the ppl in this video trying to figure out how to deal with thoer racism and its historical to me. The way for them to recognize the game that is being played, they will actually have t take an honest look at thier own families history and see where they fit in. Majority of you were grandfathered into this status that is white. There was a time when it meant nothing and the truth of coming to this country with false promises but facing sometimes worse conditions than they left was shocking and what was more shocking was to see the prosperous group be melinated. There was a time in the mid-1800s when white supremacy went into effect. This was a time when propaganda was running wild and the extremely uneducated new whites were easy to control and use for the benefit of this new plan.
Ever wonder why prosperous black communities that were destroyed weren't prepared? It's because the tall tales about our hardships, etc, weren't 100%true.
The Slavery stories and all of that are made for you to feel like you actually had any power at all.
Many of the colonizers in this country were Moorish converters. The same way you all are white but from different parts of the world, it's the same for " Black" ppl in America. Who are actually mostly indigenous to this country and never arrived on a ship as a slave. There are many lies told, and Black ppl believe them as well.
The game has been played very well. So well, all the ppl in this video actually believe in thier whiteness. Not sure if any of you realize that most foreigners in this country not of Hispanic decent are classified as white. So of you're racist towards the Indian and the gas station or african at restaurant or his/her own business please understand you're being racist to your fellow white man because that is their status on paper.
Get over yourselves and learn your actually really sad history.

This took a lot of guts and care for other people for the participants to agree to be in this video.
Even as a black person myself, I understand the lack of sensitivity that privilege bestows on its beneficiaries. Growing up in Nigeria, West Africa, there was a sense of privilege that my tribe had above the other tribes, and because you can easily distinguish the tribes by their features, you were born into it.
Fortunately, since coming to the US years ago and having had to survive as a default underprivileged, I have truly been humbled by the dangers of the opposite of privilege, which is working and struggling really hard and being knocked down.
I am committed to help lesson the impact of negative privilege here in the US and in Africa.

@@chibuo4733 You are right from the observer's point of view. It is much harder for someone with privilege to see it's subtleties. When it comes to privilege in the Western world, the deified blond blue eyed depicted Jesus in the earlier part of the last millennium add to the privilege of European descendants.
This is not a bad thing, because a white Jesus helped elevate the European people to their own higher selves. I believe that black peoples losing our own identity and souls was a lucky, but unintended deeper consequence of forced conversions of African and other indigenous peoples of the world to Christianity. I believe more than the European robbing of resources from different parts of the world and enslavement of black people, the real boon to western privilege is "Write Jesus". What Christian in their right mind would not want to be like Jesus? However, it is a position that a black person could never reach. White is associated with purity, holiness and the sacred, while black is associated with adversary and evil. This is an untenable height in an unfortunately and socially constructed colorized world.
The fight for justice will forever be an uphill battle for non European descendants, but most especially the darkest pigmented people. And as long as we have majority of black people following Christianity (as well as Islam), the privileged European descendant (or Arab, in the case of Islam) can try all they want to let go of their privilege, we black people, in our christianized and undying internalized desire to be like white Jesus - The GOD, are doomed to elevating the European image above ourselves.
Essentially, Christianity and Islam have become black peoples ' tools of perpetual self-oppression and self-deprecation . Perhaps you realize what the solution is. I would be curious to hear your thoughts on what I laid out above.

You have no reason to dismantle white supremacy because it does not harm you. And you can easily say it has never benefited you.

That's because there's no such "thing" as "white privilege" as some distinct, separate phenomena. It's ONLY the 'other side' of the "adverse racial discrimination" coin - the "other_ way of saying that same thing. So, minorities experience "prejudice" at times, in ways, by and from 'white people' whom are a majority in the U.S. Other "white people" don't experience *that* particular prejudice. That's all 'white privilege' is. The absence of racial prejudice among others of your own race. Thus, there's also 'black privilege' and 'asian privilege', etc.
That said, research has found that in terms of individuals' sense of identity, 'white' people have a small component of their race as their identity. In fact, the smallest element of all the races. Blacks have a rather high portion, the highest. Thus, they pay attention and subjectively experience and identify far more, as "being black" than do other races being their race. They also "interpret" many things, accordingly, when that's not necessarily accurate nor real nor true.

This information is healing my soul. Being considered black destroyed my family, my parents, my grandparents and the Mental Health of us All. Literally killing us. Not picking cotton or wiped or hanging anymore but as mentioned here it Has mutated into countless other ways. But I knew that it wasn't all white people responsible for this torture. Not holding you responsible for the past but something can be done now and has been. But this is only the beginning. Thank you.

Most Americans, regardless of color, are painfully ignorant. It is unbelievable how much they don't know in regards to history of both the U.S. and the rest of the world. That alone is quite unusual, seeing how Americans want to argue history with each other constantly. The comment on here claiming that racist white people came from "them", and then proceeded to tell them to honor them as their mother and father is so funny and lacking in self awareness. That isn't how human evolution works at all, also the blatant racism used right after calling other people racist.
