      @victor1946 Год назад +2

      Your a little off. With compression cycles, this is the equivalent of a 10cyl engine, not a 5 cyl , in function and sound.

    • @T5Resonans
      @T5Resonans Год назад

      @@victor1946 thanks for letting me know, v10s also stand out, arent those just two 5 cylinder engines though? 🤔

    • @victor1946
      @victor1946 Год назад

      @@T5Resonans yes that is correct they are effectively 2 inline 5s sharing a common crank; however, I dont believe they would sound the same. It really depends on firing order and pulses that creates the resonance. In the V10, no 2 cylinders are firing at the same time. Either way, the v10 is only firing each cylinder 1x every 2 rotations of the common crankshaft. The rotary is firing each rotor 1x each rotation of the shaft. The harmonic resonance of the 5 rotor firing once every rotation with the correct firing order will most closely match the harmonic resonance of the v10 firing 1x every 2 rotations. An I5 has half the exhaust pulses resonating than the v10 does so the frequencies are not quite the same. If that makes sense

    Great quality. Fantastic build.
    Not so sure about the way the rad and chargecooler are placed im relation to the side intakes. Looks like an air trap, high pressure with no escape for the air. Unless there is some missing ducting due to being not fully assembled.

  • @julienh4283
    @julienh4283 Год назад

    I think you may have problems with this intake configuration due to too much temperature difference in the air that will go to
    each rotor your cold fluid inlet should be in the middle of the exchanger and the outlet at each end (better temperature distribution)
    like a tube that runs along the top to degas and a filling a bit higher would simplify the purge.
    Anyway nice job!

    All the build looks good but the only thing I’m questioning is water inlet outlet being right next to each other on the intercooler. I can’t see how you’ll get full core length cooling. Even if you divide the end tank how will you divide the whole core vertically in the water section.
    Why not just move the outlet to the other end?

    • @dzmazzei
      @dzmazzei  Год назад

      This is a really cool idea and a few friends have discussed this before! The challenges would be the size of the components, especially the compressor and condenser involved and the parasitic drag from a unit that size to remove the degree of heat required. It ends up being a lot of BTUs as compared to cool air blowing into a cabin. Would be interesting to see though.

    Did you think about using ac compressor to cool the intercooler?? I doubt this will have ac tho...

  • @ZLAKLR20B
    @ZLAKLR20B Год назад

    why not run the water through the intercooler core, from one end and Out the other, rather than passing back? then the second pass of cooling water hasnt been warmed from the first pass already, so the air passing through the core, isnt passing air thats already removed air from the previous section?? it would be more efficient even if tiny. Otherwise, WOW, love it!!!

    • @dzmazzei
      @dzmazzei  Год назад

      Dual pass cores increase cooling efficiency as much as 5 to 10 percent, so long as you have enough water pump to maintain flow rate with the added length / loop. Thank you!

    • @ZLAKLR20B
      @ZLAKLR20B Год назад

      @@dzmazzei dual past yes, but not how you appear to have it?? correct me if im wrong, but your water looks to be flowing, down one face of the incoming air, then back down BEHIND (or the other way around, I obviously cant tell the flow direction) . So what ever water flows first, picks up heat from the incoming air, then is required to pass again and remove more heat after its already passed through the core gaining temperature, so in effect will actually be LESS efficient on the second pass through the core. Dual pass works (best) when you have a radiator or an intercooler like I have set up on my own FD that has the medium to be cooled, pass through the core twice so its exposed to fresh air longer. NOT the cooling medium flows through it twice. I hope what im trying to say makes sense, unfortunately cant add pics here. Im sure it will be sufficient what you have done, but for all the effort, I would have simply made the water single pass so its cooler for the entire time its doing its job and sent back to the radiator to cool again and it would be, even if only a small way, more efficient. Either way, LOVE the build and cant wait to see it finished. Loved the FD, this is even better!

    Is such a massive turbo necessary? So much power on such a light build, and possibly lag. This thing would be like a group C car which are notably very difficult to drive according to racers

    • @dzmazzei
      @dzmazzei  Год назад

      Believe it or not this is turbo is actually on the small side for this size rotary. The turbo is sized based on required turbine flow to keep back pressure ratio down. So even if you just want 5psi boost, a big turbo is needed. Lag shouldn't be an issue.
      But, yes it may be scary to drive with all this power in a small chassis. Even Naturally Aspirated, but such is the point of the experiment 😎
