For cars that have straight line acceleration as their predominant strength, road courses are just drag strips with turns at the beginning and end. The problem solving is how quickly can you straighten the wheel before trying to use all the power…and most high power cars are either a lot of power or none.
It sure has come along way from the video when you said "I'm not gonna get crazy with this build just tasteful upgrades".. It's probably my favorite ride of all time.
@@Token_Black_Guy I like Rob's cars but that AWD basket case is made from more Subaru, GTR & 1 off custom parts than Mazda parts on it. I realize that this doesn't have much Mazda left on it either but it still looks like an Rx7. Checkout Defined Autoworks channel he has a nice 1 also.

It's definitely a basket case, but at least it's built for the love of the car. Dude has probably created as many rotary fanatics as Gran Turismo did with putting our butts in a 787B.

I keep a screen recording of your first dyno session with the air shifter just to go back and watch every week or so, I literally watched it six times working overnight a couple of hours ago (was showing it to some fellow enthusiasts who were shit talking Mazda lol)

Man I would get a chub every time i turned the ignition switch and would remain that way till I was done driving. Every time. It made me smile about it, that is a work of art, pure excellence.

Yeah there is just no replacement for that sound, as many other commenters have said. It is close in signature to literal f1 cars but has so much more flavor i feel like. The louder the better.
I'm a Birmingham native and have grown up going to Barber Motorsports Park to watch GT, rolex, indycar, and superbikes. But I would love to see and hear this car on the track. That is one badass car.

That power delivery paired with the sequential is just balls out... what a rocket, and that dude was right you can just hammer it in the corners once you get comfortable with it - unreal 🤯

hey, you should help Rob brainstorm what kind of body he should build for his 4 rotor build! Between you finishing your cars and being close with the defined autoworks guys I think you have some good experience with functional, but aesthetically pleasing, design choices. btw this video was insane and I love how you get pro drivers to shakedown your car, knowing that they will give you the best feedback to improve upon. I am also hyped you are at the point where its going to stop being shakedown track days and instead be just dialing in the setup :)
Very nice shakedown test! This car still has a lot on the table, love to see it being pushed harder and harder in future video's :) Once everything and especially suspension is dialed in, this thing will be an absolute monster.
