    Might be time to revisit your MidiMittr videos...they're great, but it would seem like your following was not as high as it is now. I have MIDIMittr...got it for my CME stuff (thanks to you for cluing me in on CME), but I had no idea what else MIDIMittr was capable of.

    Thank you soooo much, I've been trying to connect my iPad to Logic Pro to record garageband instrument audio but the other tut was saying create an external track and it had sound but no recording and with your explanation of making an audio track first and then change it to iphone (ipad in my case) showed the I to record so thank you thank you thank you!

    Scott!, thanks for this information! this really helped me with connecting my iPads to the Mac, so I can use my connected midi controller keyboard.

    Nice video thanks. BTW if you are using garageband on ios - you can do it without the MIDIMittr app. Go to settings/advanced/Bluetooth midi devices - and click connect to your mac

    Very good video, like all the others, great explanation, thank you very much. I'm starting to use the Multitracker app on my ipad, previously I used Logic on MacBook, I can't get the app to change the effects within a song, I have my HX stomp and with logic it works as you have taught us but with this new app I don't see how to do it. A greeting from Spain.

      Some apps unfortunately don’t respond to midi. So it mostly depends on the app unfortunately

    I have an app called Jamup from positive grid for the ipad, it can use a pedalboard which can be cabled or bluetooth controled....is there a lightning to wireless midi transformer that I could use to repurpose my cabled pedalboard.

    do you know if there's anyway to route midi over bluetooth like this but without a daw. I want to route midi from a controller I have plugged into my Mac straight to the iPad over bluetooth

    FYI. THERE is a piece of hardware called the PUC+ that allows you to make a wired controller into a Bluetooth wireless one. You send midi wired to the PUC+ and the PUC+ sends/routes that midi via Bluetooth to wherever you want. I think the PUC+ is a great investment. It's solid, reliable, and the latency is negligible. I prefer wired, but in some cases bluetooth can be better. I plan to get another one or two PUC+'s. Why not. Then I can make a wireless only setup, if for no other reason than just to do it as a challenge. It's fun. And fun is all that matters in the twilight zone.

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  3 года назад

      Yeah I looked into the PUC a while back and it does seem pretty cool! I’ll have to check one out eventually. I did just do a video on the WIDI Master which converters standard 5pin midi into midi over Bluetooth and it’s amazing and compact and cheaper than the PUC. The video is on my channel if you are interested 👍

    Enjoying your videos! Question, though. Do you ever have lag/errors from sending to iOS devices? I set up MIDI to send to my iPad from Mac's MainStage program. The MIDI is just a program change message to tell the iPad to change to a different chord chart in my Songbook app. This is set up using a network, and not bluetooth in the MIDI studio. A few times, however, MIDI stops being received by the iPad even though it's still connected, and when I disconnect and reconnect it in the MIDI studio, it sends a bunch of program changes at once. Wondering if you've ever experienced anything like that? In a live scenario, this is not fun.

      Bluetooth definitely can cut out sometimes depending on the signal. More often than not, it works for sure, but I have had it cut out a few times. I'm addicted to wireless hahaha, but if it's something that is pretty "mission-critical" to your rig, going wired might be the safer bet.

      @@ScottUhlMusic I appreciate the response. Have you tried going through a network versus bluetooth? Any thoughts on which may be more reliable? I use a wifi router as part of my rig so everything is on the same network.

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  3 года назад +1

      I have not. This setup is midi over Bluetooth. I honestly do not know if that have midi over WiFi or not.... I haven’t heard of it. Overall the Bluetooth is pretty reliable but not perfect.

    how do you do the reverse of this? like send midi and audio from an iPhone app to Ableton on Mac using midimittr?

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  3 года назад

      I’m not a pro in Ableton, but if you can connect the two over Bluetooth like I did in this video... you should be able to have your iPhone be seen as a midi input in Ableton

    Hey, I searched everywhere for something similar, and this is the closest I got, the only thing is that I want to send from a laptop with Windows to an Android phone. Is this possible? And if it is, how?

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  3 года назад +1

      I’m sure it is possible, but I’m an Apple user, and whenever I use android or windows I’m completely lost on where everything is. Sorry, and best of luck!

      @@panacea.palace hey there. I'm not sure why I was trying to do this a year ago, but I don't remember succeeding. I think the closest I got was the other way around, using the phone as a midi controller for PC.

      @@rouan96071 no worries I actually figured out what I needed, I used the MIDI Out plugin in FL Studio to route things where I needed. Thanks for the reply though!
