“Is it weird that... something about Vasquez is... kinda working for me?" Dude, back in 1986, actress Jenette Goldstien was getting fan mail from actual Marines who were asking her to marry them. lol 😆🤣
Haha I can believe that!
She's the baddest of the bunch, man.
@@Anton-nh3vh that's healthy for you, it can helped you a lot
She founded her own company "Jenette Bras", which is specialized in producing and distributing of big cup bras, in 2009.

PLEASE stop here!
I know this film by heart practically (love the first one too), but I saw Aliens 3 ONCE in theater when it came out. NEVER again, not even when it RARELY is shown on TV.
Please, do NOT see it. Not only is it terrible, but it craps on all that came before.
Fun fact: The actress that played Vasquez also played John Connor's foster mom in Terminator 2 and the Irish Mother in Titanic.
She also stared in a graphic Vampire film called 'Near Dark' with costars from Aliens, Bill Paxton(Hudson) and Lance Henriksen(Bishop)
She's also in Lethal Weapon 2 as a cop.
dang, that's surprising. she looks regular as hell on T2 but that's definitely her. James Cameron did both if I'm not mistaken.
@@dubdeuce1517 James Cameron did all 3. Aliens, T2 and Titanic.
She's also in Star Trek Generations movie at the first part of the movie
I'm glad this movie ended on a happy note and that there were no other alien movies after this one, NO OTHER ALIEN MOVIES
Haha OTHER Alien movies??? Nah never heard of em
It is naff, but you do find out what happens to Ripley, Hicks, Newt and Bishop.
I concur.
@@Ripley_Ellen the best part of it is the warping of the 20th century Fox music at the start. Really adds an atmosphere of dread and foreboding...
@@CapedInformer you really should watch the 4 Alien movies with Sigourney regardless. We waited years for the sequels, so it was a bigger deal to experience Alien 3. However, you may have the feelings we did even though you don’t have to wait so long. 3 is actually well made and people do defend it.
If you notice, Ripley and the Queen came to an understanding, but then the Queen tried to be sneaky by opening one of her eggs behind Ripley, who saw it and gave the, "Really?" look to the Queen and THEN flamed her eggs. Hehe.
Thank you. I don't know why, but most people miss this. Sigourney Weaver nailed this scene in particular. You can tell Ripley just wants to get out of there. They really did come to a "mother to mother" understanding, which is why she was slowly backing up. This scene is also there to show you that the xenomorphs aren't 'just animals.' While they may be like bees in some regards, they're not just living and colonizing. They're willfully malicious.
The queen just 'had to' open up that eggsack, certain Ripley wouldn't notice it happened. And yes, just like you said, Ripley gave the disgusted, " ... really?!" reaction. Only one response at that point. They would have come for Ripley and Newt anyway.
@@gryffen9608 can concur. I'm a "most person" who just realized this
@@Biggiiful Hello there. There's nothing wrong in missing something, then having someone else point it out later. It's one of the strange gifts that comes with being a person, we each have our own perspective. Each has something to give.
To me, that small scene is a great demonstration of how the only logical response to the aliens is extermination. Well, running away until you can get the ability to exterminate is also an option, but you get the point. They're not like bees. They don't contribute to the environment. They're not like sharks that only cull the herd. They're malicious, insatiable swarms. They don't have the intelligence to create a society or use tool, but they know what they're doing and they like it.
Thanks again for the approval and the comment. Good journey to you.
@@gryffen9608 haha well said. Thanks for the positivity. Cheers.
The egg just opened because it was ready and there was a viable host nearby. The queen wanted to keep the truce.
Fave movie of all-time. Still holds up really well 35 years later.
Same here.
Man........can you imagine a movie holding up to 35yrs!
@@Backstreets247 There are a few others from around then that do, such as Back to the Future and the Princess Bride, but it's rare that they hold up so well.
The wet, grinding, crunching sounds when Bishop is impaled and torn in half are amazingly convincing and super repulsive. Always thought so.
Fun Fact: This movie showed the most terrifying element of the Xenomorphs and that is they're highly intelligent. And thats just the drones/warriors. The Queen showed she knew the concepts behind reasoning, plotting, planning, and complex emotions like anger, hatred, vindictiveness.
Yea I found that part super interesting towards the end. Made them so much more terrifying
@@CapedInformer There was even different varieties according to the extended lore.
@@BOOGiNS Ok? What does that have to do with their intelligence? I completely forgot about this.
lol shame they didn't cryofreeze Gary Kasperov's ass & send him out there to play chess with one of these things for your edification .. what I'm saying is an apex predator like this could appear to have evolved decision making & critical thought, but there are many pack animals can coordinate in a very effective way that almost feels like the leader figure was sitting there with pen & paper planning it. How a wolf has thumbs is another question :)
In the Dark Horse comic series Xenomorph queens have an average IQ of 170…so yeah a terrifying mental capacity. And General Spears tried to control one 😭
I agree with you when you said "This is the worthiest sequel I have ever seen." I think so too. My favorite movie of all time...I never get tired of watching it!!❤
I love the entire Alien movies.
The Nostromo was detoured to the planet in the first movie because of an obscure clause in their contract with Weyland Yutani. The crew were essentially interstellar long-haul truckers BUT...the corporation put it in their contract that they could be diverted to investigate signs of life/civilizations should a signal be intercepted. It was an obscure clause but obviously important to the soulless bastards at Weyland Yutani since they deemed the crew expendable in such cases. They had no training in such things but they had to do as WY told them in order to earn their paycheck.
I think the idea of being diverted calls back to certain maritime rules (I think...) which are common in science fiction that has space travel. Essentially, you are obligated by international/intergalactic law to investigate any distress signal because you may be the only ship capable of helping-the ocean/space is massive and very difficult to navigate. Weyland-Yutani obviously also had ulterior motives, because they’re the bad guys, but the basic concept it’s based on isn’t inherently rooted in corporate greed. It’s something the company can easily use as an excuse in the situation, but has legitimate and necessary applications.
@Pixelologist Actually, Courtney is right. The "obscure clause" is based on _real-world_ maritime law. Under maritime law and tradition, ships have a _legal_ and _moral_ obligation to help distressed seafarers. In a recent incident, a Princess Cruise ship failed to help three fishermen, and two of the fishermen died as a result. The captain is now serving prison time for failing to respond, and the Princess Cruise line was forced to pay fines.
The Nostromo was morally and legally _required_ by law to respond to the "distress call". Where Weyland-Yutani comes into the picture is that they _knew_ it was some sort of warning beacon, not a distress call.
We had some damn good movies back in the 80's. That was the era I grew up (I'm 44). I'm really glad that it's became a trend for the younger generation to go back and watch these films. Been enjoying your reaction videos.
Some timeless classics from the 80s. And thanks!
William Manchester, one of the great American historians, served with the First Marine Division in WWll. When he was in old age, for some reason, he started having his war nightmares again. Nothing stopped them. So he decided the only way to get rid of that awful darkness was to go back and visit every island in the Pacific he fought on. One night, when his island guides had taken him to an area he was sure he’d dug a foxhole in back in 1942, he dug a foxhole again as an old man and got in it to sleep. He woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t remember if he was an old man revisiting his trauma, or a young Marine dreaming he was old and survived. The book was titled “Goodbye Darkness” and is one of the best WWll memoirs I’ve ever read.
WOW!!!!
Neat fact Al Matthews was actually in the army and fought in Vietnam as a six star Marine the Director and producer used his experience in combat and customizing the body armour which marines actually did with stickers, markings painted on decals when they where fighting in Vietnam. He even thought the cast how to hold the guns properly. PS the actor Yaphet Kotto who played Parker in Alien Died two days ago RIP. PS Micheal Biehn who played Hicks also played Kyle from terminators in case you did not know.
Coincidentally, the loader that Ripley used was a full-scale costume built around stuntman John Lees, who was concealed inside, immediately behind Sigourney Weaver. It weighed around 600 lbs and included hidden counterweights to help balance it, and _still_ had to be either suspended from wires (concealed within the radio antennae on the suit's shoulders) or mounted on a counterbalanced crane for filming. It featured electrically operated claws; the various hydraulic systems were cosmetic only. It was supposed to be four-legged (and in the novelization, it is) but James Cameron was worried that it would look too similar to the AT-AT from Star Wars, so it was redesigned to be bipedal.
In 2018, Hacksmith Industries built a real, _working_ power loader, but it uses a tracked chassis instead of legs. This is for safety reasons, as legs are too unstable and "fail dangerously," which could injure or kill the operator if the hydraulics lose pressure or if it simply loses its balance.
I remember reading not long after the movie came out that the loader was just an actual piece of working tech, jazzed up a little to look SF-ey. But I've also read for years that bipedal robots remain a pipe dream so far, so always wondered about that tidbit about Ripley's loader. Thanks for the info!
I know that Vasquez played John Connor's step mom in T2, but I still can't believe it. What a great actress!
Hudson was my favorite character. "GAME OVER MAN!!!!!" RIP Bill Paxton
Both Alien and Aliens are masterpieces that are an epitome of different kinds of styles, between the Hunted Horror, and the Action Disaster. For sure, these were the best of the films of the series.
"Did IQ's just drop while I was away?"
The past 2 years I don't wanna even see 57 years from now
This is the ultimate Sci Fi Action Horror Movie. It does not get better than this and also one of the best sequels ever. Great Video and reaction.
Agreed. And thanks! Glad you liked it
“I guess she didn’t like the cornbread either” and “What the hell are we supposed to use man, harsh language?”. The two most underrated lines in the movie.
And both uttered by the awesome Frost!
As a kid, Alien, Aliens, Empire Strikes Back, The Thing, Predator all came out within a few years of each other and I felt like the world was such a great place!!!
When the aliens are crawling in the ceiling, it wasn't a jump scare which was actually better. It was more like opening a cabinet and seeing several roaches, but they are also hostile towards you. It was a special creepy fear for me.
Whoa, and I thought the roaches in the South were bad. But at least they never slaughter crowds wholesale. Where the heck do you live?! 😆😆
Fun fact: Apone was played by a legit US Marine Vietnam Veteran: Al Matthews, who served six years in the Corp and made Sergeant during the war. Sadly, Matthews passed away a few years ago in 2018.
10:18 I just noticed Ripley's reaction when Hicks moves her aside. Very subtle.
Dude Hudson was friggin amazing! One of the most memorable and best characters in the Alien franchise. He went out like a warrior also! Hicks though....Hicks is hands down the BEST character in the entire franchise!!!! Semper Fi Cpl. hicks!!!
1. You're not the only one hot for Vasquez
2. Michael Biehn/Hicks is our boy from Terminator.
3. The late great Bill Paxton/Hudson rocks/funny
4. Paul Rudd's/Burke mother stood up and cheered when he got his.
5. Newt/Carrie Henn's nickname is now "Scream".
6. Everything that follows this "Can't touch this".
this dude makes some excellent reactions. Very relatable.
I read the scene where Ripley opens up on the egg room differently to what some people seem to.
I think the Queen betrayed her first, because facehugger eggs started opening up to infect her and Newt. Ripley's facial expression suggests (to me) that she knows she is being betrayed and has no choice other than to fight. Because a facehugger will run you down.
Her face said “Really bitch?” So perfectly 😂
Ok, your clever use of specific clips that you use for cutaway scenes just earned you my subscription. :)
Haha glad you enjoyed it!
she blew up the eggs at the end because the queen alien broke that silent trust, as they were about to leave, one of her eggs hatched, the queen obviously made that happen, so ripley was like, you wanna play dirty? fuck it! god i love this movie!
"Hudson finally found his balls." Unfortunately so did the xenomorphs...
Vazquez is hot. She's also responsible for the eponymous Vasquez Dies trope.
She's also not John Connor's mom, Todd.
Funny fact was the illegal aliens joke was in reference to Jenette Goldstein thinking the movie was about migrant workers when she auditioned for the role of Vasquez.
The attack on their base was a clear sign of high intelligence.
- Cut the power just before the attack to create confusion.
- Attack simultaneously from two directions.
- Cover the exits.
- Quickly adapt attack vector when the pray flee through the air ducts.
- Attack again from several directions.
- Move in front and cut off escape routes.
It's debatable if they actually knew to cut the power or if that was just a bonus caused by them damaging the power lines as they made their way towards them, but I will certainly agree on all the other points. The Aliens are a lot more intelligent than they appear and certainly know how to use frighteningly advanced tactics, made even worse by the fact that they don't value their individual lives. Only the survival of the Hive matters.
Aliens is top 5 all time for me, and Vasquez is a spicy, dreamy Valkyrie.
This was the ONLY movie I ever saw in the cinema as a teenager, or frankly since, where the crowd literally stands up, clapped and cheered at the door going up and Ripley being in the loader. Everyone was so elated. I’d never seen anything like it as a 14 year old and it has always been, and always will be, my favourite film.
"Hudson is gonna die first"
"Of course, Hudson survives, of all of them, I knew it"...........REALLY?
I meant "ofcourse" out of irony lol. The loudmouth guy survived out of everyone
@@CapedInformer More like the guy with the most personality, all the bland marines were killed off early.
If you missed it, there's one quick set of lines that explains Hudson's attitude completely. It's when they realize the reactor is melting down and about to blow. "Wow. ... And I was getting short, too. Ha. Four weeks! Four weeks, man, and I was out of the corps!"
Hudson was scheduled to muster out of the Marines in less than a month. That's why he could sass off at anyone to at least some degree, including the sergeant. Hudson knew unless he did something really stupid, there really wasn't much they could do to him, and his superiors knew it.
You're such a great reactor. First 2 Alien films are the greatest indeed but I love all Alien films. Each adds something fresh
I could watch them both back to back without getting tired. So much to breakdown. And thanks I really appreciate that!
The thing with Burke is, the actor Paul Reiser was best known as a standup comedian at that time, so it was an anti typecasting move to give him such a bad character.
Oh wow I could kind of see him doing comedy now
@@CapedInformer My favorite story about this is that Reiser said his mom went to the premier and CHEERED when Burke bought it.
@@electricdevil2422 What's better is his mom even admitted it in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She merrily said that she loves her son and is proud of him (by that time he had won two Emmys, in fact), but didn't hide the fact that Paul Reiser did such a good job acting she couldn't even see his character as her son. THAT is acting.
@@electricdevil2422 To top it off, Paul's sister (jokingly) punched him for playing such a vile character.
@@CapedInformer He also was the lead in a sitcom called Mad About You with Helen Hunt ('92 to '99), he did a really good job playing a weasel. LOL!!! .... PEACE.
This was one of my favorites growing up. I still love watching it every now and then. Glad you loved it so much.
Bill Paxton, who played Hudson, passed in 2017. He had rheumatic fever when he was 13 and his heart had been damaged. He had surgery and had to have a further surgery. His health got worse and he suffered a fatal stroke.
Vasquez is my favorite character from the franchise.
I know why you digging Vasquez.... " it's her bandana " 😄😄😄
LOL Hudson's always been my favorite, he's hilarious. IT'S GAME OVER MAN!
Lol he became one of my favorites at the end
If Aliens was filmed today then all those practical effects would be swapped for CGI, taken away the immersive experience and sense of peril.
Exactly. And also taking away our admiration for the ingenuity of the FX.
Totally agree. I wish movies today would make the effort to do more practical effects. CGI could be used sparingly & I think it would probably look better in many situations.
Then there's "Howard The Duck," where George Lucas chose live action over Anime. ("Ravi Duck" looked great in the comics, as would an Anime Howard.)
@@susanmaggiora4800 it's actually more expensive than cg.
Completey agree. And is it me or is cgi looking worse these days? Lazy film making if you ask me
The knife game is pretty much as old as knives. There are some patterns that are considerably harder, but the one Bishop does isn't easy mode either. Pretty sure at least like half a dozen kids (all boys, shocker) from my year at school had one or two scars on theit hands/fingers from doing it with a pen or compasses.
Could never do it well in red dead #1 😕
Confirm
😆👍
I remember in the locker room at high school someone did it and sliced down to the bone. Blood was squirting all over the locker room.
Dan O'Bannon, who made Alien, also made and starred in Dark Star. The knife trick was done in Dark Star, so I think that's the connection :)
Your taste is definitely not off. Vasquez is a force to be reckoned with.
Hudson and Hicks actors were also both in Tombstone.
Fun fact: Burke actually survives and is found later by Ripley when she goes looking for Newt. She hands him a grenade and leaves him to decide how he dies :D There is a deleted scene on it.
Dude Hudson is hilarious. Game over man. RIP Bill Paxton.
Great reaction and yes, it ends here.
"Is it weird that something about Vasquez is working for me?"
Be much weirder if it didn't. Vasquez has been turning heads for thirty five years. Janet Goldstein spars with Brian Blessed, F. Lee Ermey, Jet Li, and Chuck Norris. The mere sight of Vasquez has been known to turn gay men straight and straight gals gay. Between Vasquez and Ripley, twelve years olds boys came outta theaters with full beards.
Ms. Goldstein auditioned thinking this was gonna be a film about migrant workers. When he finally stopped laughing, Cameron wrote "Vasquez" into the script.
Lol Vasquez was a different breed of woman
I really hope you react to the other Alien movies! Love that you've watched the first and second one so far. Side note, I love the director's cut for the second movie because it explains why Ripley was so attached to Newt.
What I like about james cameron's vision for aliens, is that he expanded on the nature of the xenomorphs. When a xenomorph is alone, it behaves like a lone wolf in the wild, but when they are in a pack (or hive) they behave differently. It is very 'believe-able', and expands the story of the Aliens themselves.
I say this in all the reactions to Aliens - David Giler, one of the producers of these movies said the first movie was the haunted house, and this one was the roller coaster.
Perfect analogy
Fun fact: Frosty is the nickname of black marine, who is also a main character in the game, AVP 2
Your energy in this reaction was just A+ 😁 so enjoyable watching my favorite movie with you ♥️
It was enjoyable to see someone experience 'Aliens' for the first time. Grew up with this movie, was 7 when i saw it for the first time.
It was the queen who tried to break the agreement, didn't you see the egg try to open before Ripley went to town? :D
Carrie Henn, who played Newt said that as they were going to film the "Water" scene the next morning, the Assistant Director had the water warmed. Carrie said in the morning the water was too hot so her and the "Alien" sat on the edge bathing their feet in the water till it cooled down a bit. Pity there's no picture of that eh. Carrie Henn gave up acting and became a School Teacher. Maybe she taught Aliens to be nice people. 😂
This is my favorite movie behind Alien 😁 And, as an Alien quadrilogy fanatic, I could geek out with you about this movie for hours and hours. 😉 Thanks for posting!
I actually saw the Queen in Alien exhibit. She was an absolute work of art. Much of the detail you don't see . And yes she is that big. She's huge.
"She's gonna blow!" LOL
I was born in july of '86 same year and month this was released that's an honor to be brought into this world around the same time.
this was released a couple of weeks after I was born absolute honor.
Vasquez is beautiful. She's played in A LOT of movies. Her look changes so drastically. She was the Irish mother in Titanic. I didn't know it was her until I was reading something and she was in the credits. I just read that someone else saw that it was her in Titanic.
No Vasquez has always been my secret crush since this movie first came out.
Vasquez and Leela ( Dr Who) helped establish my life long attraction to women who could kill me without breaking a sweat. ;)
"Hudson's gonna be the first to die. I'm callin' it."
(later) "Oh, of course Hudson survives. I knew it."
:-D LOL
Lol it was the irony that did it for me!
Beginning of the film: I love Ripley
You haven't seen nothing yet. Ripley is a total BADASS
And on that note, Alien prequels Prometheus and Alien Covenant, are also great picks. Solid movies that add to the lore and have some fascinating stuff in them
It's not weird that something about Vasquez is working for you. I look forward to the pull-up scene every time I watch this.
Hudson, Bill Paxton... RIP. ❣️
80's & 90s movies are the best.. Story, practical effects, I wonder if movies will ever be this good again.
The Cat Jonesy is the real Hero, the ultimate Survivor!!
You're the best with that line; "we riot" ahahhaha, I watched this movie like 20 times, it was an honour watchin it with you. Daniel from Europe :). Greets
Awesome Movie and Work Bro Thanks 👍 Greetings from Helsinki Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸
It's Ridley Scott, not Scott Ridley.
If you liked Vasquez, she's in another movie called Near Dark with two of the other cast members from Aliens. Lance Hendrickson (Bishop) and Bill Paxton (Hudson) play modern (80s) vampires.
i love this movie so much that as a teen i made a cardboard replica of their pulse rifle. i love the WHOLE series no matter how bad they are.
Anything you can imagine after this is better than what we got.
But....there is a graphic novel that follows Jones the cat.
ALL OF THIS REACTION
Vazquez is the best. I like her a lot. Best side character.
The crew of the Nostromo didn't have a choice but to investigate the source of the beacon, it was written in their contract. They were nowhere near confident about investigating it that's why Parker was so freaked out and why Lambert was so jumpy.
Alien 2, has by far, surpassed "ALL" of the Alien franchise movies. "ALL of them".
"I was about to rage quit this movie if a chestbuster alien was in her."
THEN IT'S A GOOD THING THERE ARE NO MOVIES AFTER THIS ONE. HA HA HA HA. HA.... HA.
Hahahah good thing it does!
Alien 3 is actually very well done. It is just different
One of my favorites, right up there with The Thing by John Carpenter.
Michael Biehn played Hicks also was Kyle Reese in Terminator and Ringo in Tombstone (watch this one)
My 2 favorite of this Alien movies. Love Ripley.
Speaking of James Cameron, just letting you know that there are three versions of Terminator 2: theatrical, special, & extended. Only the first two have the official ending. Hence, stay away from the extended cut.
Why, what happens in the extended version?
@@davidstanton1262 I don't want to spoil. Just search "Terminator 2 alternate ending". It's an easter egg from the various home media of the film.
I’d still suggest watching the “future coda” alternate ending afterwards, though. It’s on youtube, and is interesting to see once you have seen the theatrical.
What's wrong with the alternate ending?
@@bfang19 It's not the ending that Cameron chose to release. Hence, unofficial.
You know I'm with you. I have always felt seeing that derelict alien ship would have terrified me. No way in hell would I have ever went inside it.
Arguably the greatest science fiction movie ever made.
Also... Vasquez is...yep. I get ya...lmao
A surefire formula for a successful sequel: Add more monsters and a cute kid.
Worked for Terminator 2
This film set up that the aliens don’t show up on infrared, meaning they don’t have body heat.
In the Aliens vs Predator series, movies, comics, video games, the Predator primary sees in heat vision and has a visor mode specifically for the aliens.
"These things just won't give up." & "This was too much." Accurate statements. I've seen this movie so many times and I'm still on the edge of my seat every. single. time.
Very good reaction, BTW, when you get to "Alien 3" PLEASE make sure that you watch the Assembly Cut/version that lasts about 2 and a half hours long.
Thanks!
@@CapedInformer If you absolutely *must* watch Alien 3, Assembly Cut is, indeed, the way to go.
I adore Vasquez!
Fun fact: almost every character and every alien within this movie has a toy including the construction walker... I personally won of the queen and the construction walker but I was too young to get it at the time
Vasquez bruh? Good eye man cause she is fiiiiiine😁
"If Newt dies we riot!" 🤣
No, Vasquez has a certain something... Ok, the Alien movies end here, no need to watch any others.
Those aliens really considered themselves part of the furniture.
Mumblety peg was around long before this film came out, my friend.
