Eighteen months ago, suffering from brain fog, muscle pain, dodgy eye sight, and other physical symptoms from long haul COVID-19, I started taking NAC, Quercetin, Zinc that helped bring relief from many of the symptoms. I'm 72. Yesterday, I hiked 14 miles, not bad for someone who was making his funeral arrangements a year ago.
Scientifically we still can't know if NAC Or Quercetin and Zinc or Exercise caused the funeral to be cancelled. I won't take any chances, I'll take my health remedies, my exercise, diet good sleep my relaxation program. Just to be on the safe side. And for extra caution, I'll keep clear of all new gene therapies. I would like every chance to die healthy.
I disagree with the part of what you said about our brain not needing more glutathione. In this study they checked old people and young people to see a difference in levels. But glutathione is very important to brain health because the brain consumes 20% of our total oxygen so it's loaded with oxidative stress markers. Meaning it demands more antioxidants to offset these free radicals. My point is that why test different ages for glutathione in regards to aging. In my opinion they should of tested young and older people with a current or history of past mental illness issues. Such as depression, anxiety, ptsd, seizures, Parkinson's, alzheimers etc. I just think that they were testing the wrong subjects for the wrong reasons. They should of tested people with mental health issues because of how toxic free radicals can be in a environment filled with them which will demand a lot of antioxidants, especially glutathione.
@@Coco762011 yes along with other diseases involving the brain. Which is why I said a study that test young people and old people that have not suffered or dont currently suffer from mental illness issues is downright dumb. Again the brain uses up 20% of the body's oxygen. The brain absolutely needs antioxidants the most because it is packed with free radicals as a result of the oxygen demands. Of course glutathione levels wont drop in the young or the elderly without mental issues because the brain is probably the last place that can afford a excess amounts of free radicals. I just believe how he said that oh glutathione is not needed in the brain because it doesn't get depleted or something to that extent is a poor use of words. Well of course it wont be depleted because they aren't suffering from mental illness issues. Their is a reason that a lot of antioxidants cross the blood brain barrier.
Alpha lipoic acid, vitamin e, polyphenols, vitamin c, Astaxanthin all cross the blood brain barrier along with other antioxidants. The blood brain barrier is very selective as to what it allows in. Only what is needed gets allowed in.
I (55 years) have already been taking glynac for 3 months now. 600 mg nac and 3 grams glycine before bed. It really makes me feel better (relaxed and more energy). Additional benefit is that glycine also promotes better sleep. So if you’re lacking energy and/or have sleeping troubles try it. Best to add vitamin c and magnesium as it is also used in the same biochemistry pathway. I can really confirm the findings that this helps a lot. Glycine and nac are cheap and it is well worth a try.
@@Dutchy2636 Oh ok, ya I'm in USA so I can't get that :( I'll still look it up and see about adding that glycine in my order today or tomorrow. Thanks so much!
I was taki g 600mg of NAC for asthma for 12 years. Woeked ok. As good as inhaler. But i looked it up a few months ago and saw it worked for CV19 symptoms and for anxiety and deptession and Alzheiners. So i upped mty daily divided dose to 2400. In 3 days i gave up naps. And i started to garden again. And began other projects. My facial wribles half disappeared! Im 67 and drive a motorcycle in Antigua Guatemala. I feel 50!
Now I understand why the FDA recently decided to regulate NAC, they saw the study inferring 1.5 grams of NAC twice a day is good to go and said WOOHA and NAC became a regulated drug.
I used ALA, Q10(ubiquinol) and NAC for half a year. I didn't notice any relief with my neuropathy. Started 2 months ago with only broccoli sprouts regime daily, a week ago I noticed 50% less numbness, uncomfortable feeling etc in my hands and feet. Hopefully it will turn out even better. I also heat the broccoli sprouts for 10 minutes in 70C water, that will increase the sulforaphane in the sprouts about 2/3 times as much Thanks Brad for your info. No doctor has ever helped me that much. Also nice to look at too 😍😍😍
As we age, glycin levels decline more than twice. It is estimated, that we need around 10g of glycin per day, 1 g comes from diet, 1 g is produced by body, and we miss a lot- 8 grams. I'm a bit skeptic about using serine as glycine precuror, since if we need 8 g, 1.5g of serine is nowhere close to required amount. I take NAC + 10g glycine, glycine is safe up to 50g and is proved by ITP to extend longevity. Serine effects are less known. As bonus, glycine helps to clear out from body methionine- most anti longevity amino acid. Great video, thanks.

I'm new to this chan but what I appreciate about your information is that you don't seem to represent big pharma and have helped me keep from wasting my money on useless Supplement purchase or using it wrongly. Thank you
I have read that NAC, which is an amino acid, may also be helpful for: *healing the neurotoxic damage associated with cocaine and amphetamine use, as well as improving several mental disorders* It is recommended that it's taken on an empty stomach or at least 2 hours after food. From what I have read, NAC doesn't absorb well, so the ideal time to take it is on rising in a morning, at least 30 mins before eating. It can also disturb sleep, so taking it prior to bed is not recommended, according to what I have read.
But you need food to better absorb medicines, vitamins etc absorption otherwise you urinate most of it out? Isn't it recommend to take NAC with a protein meal?
Glutathione is popular in Southeast Asia, even for the younger people. It is not used for anti aging, it is used for its side effect-for skin lightening. As is the high demand for whitening creams and related products, it makes sense that glutathione supplements will also follow the same trend.
It makes no sense to use serine to increase glycine if you can just take in glycine instead. It is cheap, virtually free from side effects, and even has a slightly sweet taste. Glycine is not only needed for glutathione synthesis but also plays a role in methionine metabolism and is hugely important in collagen synthesis amongst other things. The more methionine(basically especially any animal protein source) you take in, the more glycine you need. Virtually anything that depends on collagen synthesis is basically rate limited by glycine, which includes the skin, cartilage, and other connective tissue, and cartilage you really want to support as much as you can because of its very very slow regenerative capacity. Going the serine way you will eventually rate limited by its conversion to glycine and you will probably need more serine than if you would supplement glycine directly.
Dr. Brad did not say how high levels of glutathione are toxic to the body. He says that high levels of glutathione are dangerous. How? Where's the data about it?
I agree, I'd like to see research that shows liposomal glutathione is dangerous. Also, I just found research that shows brain glutathione drops in old age, opposite of the research Dr. Brad provided. I would like to understand which is actually a better path (and most affordable), liposomal glutathione or glutathione precursors (eg. Glycine/serine + NAC).
He replied to another comment and he said he has no data to back up that claim. From my own research, pretty much every study said it’s fine as long as you are not on chemo, or have kidney issue. Apparently it can help cancer cells replicate themselves and mess with your kidneys if you take an extremely high dose but it seems to be in rare cases, some people are taking extremely high doses for skin lightening in the Philippines but this is around 3000-5000mg, so taking the normal dose of 500mg seems to be safe to take. In all honesty oral medication is only absorbed by 60-70% anyway so you will be fine.
Dr Stanfield, I’ve been taking NAC for about a year & I believe it gives me a different body odor . It’s not terrible & it wont stop me from taking it. Has anyone else noticed this? I’m 77 and taking 600 mg a day.
I had some respiratory issues that doctors diagnosed as exercised induced asthma. I treated myself with NAC and it cleared it up…I use NAC by Orthomolecular daily
I plan to take the NAC when I can afford it again, and try to learn more from fellows like you. (Thanks!) What I really found important in this video was that you view liposomal glutathione as dangerous or potentially so. It wasn't on my shopping list but if I'd come across it, I wouldn't know of your concerns had you not published them.
I ran this experiment with my partner for 4 weeks. 1g of NAC and 3g of Glycine. We are in our mid 50's. Nothing noticeable for the first 2 weeks, then the development of mouth blisters in both of us. (I was the worst.) My blood glucose levels also turned to shit. Went off it and a week or so later, my blood glucose levels were back to their usual level. As we're both fit and have good BMI's I think the lesson here is don't assume there is automatic benefit. Maybe for elderly people who are more metabolically damaged, but for us we went backwards. (We still take 1g of glycine daily with no ill effects.)
Opposite happens for me. So much I have to self limit my own foundings. Not sure. Lots of things going to play. Medication, diet, supplements, body inflammation (naturally) or from extra energy expediture.
It's like any other supplement... They're only beneficial if you happen to be deficient and not everyone is deficient. Good to point it out tho, lots of people just take everything without stopping to think if they actually have any symptoms of deficiency
@@WideAwakeHuman Depends what the supplement is. Huge numbers of people don't get enough D. I found out the hard way I wasn't getting the A I needed. Almost nobody gets enough K2 or magnesium... Although I suspect if you include plenty of meat in your diet the benefits of amino acids are going to be marginal, so I agree with you there.
@@willnitschke yeah magnesium was huge for me. I ate a balanced diet and doctors told me that I was getting enough magnesium but from all the workouts years prior I started developing a bunch of premature beats to a point where I could barely even do anything around the house. Had my magnesium checked the wrong way which is in the blood and it was normal but I took 300 to 400 magnesium glycinate night for a while and those skipped beats stopped according to a linq recorder. My vitamin d is also low so now I'm on that with K2. Found out it runs in our family.
I take 1.2 grams per day and I been smoking forever. I noticed and incredible increase in breathing and much deeper sleep. I am 61 years old 😁. Your channel is excellent thank you. ☕
I've been a supplement and bio-hacking junkie before it was called that, since my 20s in the 1990s. My supplement budget keeps growing the more videos of yours that I watch!
I’m 24 years old and I been taking 600 mg of nac daily. It’s help my inflammation with my psoriasis and it reduces many of my used to be side effects. Such as fatigue and heart beat problems. My teeth are like super duper white now too it’s amazing lol
Thank you Dr. Brad for all you do, for your valuable time and information which helps us so much. You are a beautiful human being. May God our Father bless you always!
Some mouse studies show that NAC supplementation can lead to cancer onset. The question is whether glutathione levels go down after a certain age because the body can’t cope with too much glutathione in the presence of many senescent cells. Same problem than with NAD+ precursors.
What a great video about NAC! I agree that about 3 grams a day is right. Here is what I have found. I have done a little experiment for myself. On nights I drank, I tried no NAC, 600mg. of NAc, 1,200 mg (1.2g) of NAC, 2,000 mg. (2g) of NAC, and 3 grams of NAC. At 0-600mg. I felt no effect the next day. At 1,200 I felt some effect the next day, at both 2 and 3 grams of NAC, I felt as if I had zero drinks the night before. Therefore, I use 2-3 grams of NAC daily now. It is important to note, as you stated, the absorption through oral means, or bioavailability isn't great. NAC should, like other amino acids, be consumed on an empty stomach to help aid in absorption.
I started eating more protein and beefliver as often as possible (40g 7x a week If I can but usually 5x a week, If I feel like I dont want it some days) I feel way better now, liver is natures multivitamin and very inexpensive today.
I feel "down" when taking 1200 mg of NAC. I feel fine with 600 mg. I find this strange since NAC is actually anti depressive. Not sure what's going on there.
Might be related to your gut NAC can be an issue for some people with SIBO symptoms , if you have any SIBO maybe deal with that first then look at in increasing NAC
I was given some Acetyl glutathione 500 mg a day for detoxing heavy metals after a test . After 30 days I took a blood test to see what was happening. My AST and ALT were a little higher than usual 34/36 but under the 46 limit. I figured it was the detoxing caused by the glutathione raising this. Im 58 years old so I plan on using it long term hoping it will keep my system functioning properly.
I have been taking NAC and glycine for a few months now. The body feels like 10 years younger in vitality. I am in my early 50s. NAC - 600mg once a day Glycine - 1g, twice a day. NAC dosage has room to increase.
Not sure what is new here. It has been around for some years. I take NAC and Glycine as there are a lot of studies showing benefit from that. Never heard of a study saying anything about serine, maybe that is the new thing? Also taking B-vitamins (all the numbers) help to increase glutathione.
EXCELLENT Overview. I'm over 70 and have recently begun taking 600mg NAC ONCE a day.. Since the science on this is new, my judgement is it's Better to 'risk' Too LITTLE than TOO much.. I will look into serine supplementation.. Thanks...

Is there any evidence so far, that by taking NAC or liposomal glutathione that this intake will automatically increase glutathione levels in the brain? Or does it automatically go to the areas where it is needed? I understand that you claim that taking such supplements this will increase Glutathione levels in the brain automatically. Are there any studies out there that this is the case? How much Glutathione induces toxicity and what are the effects of glutathione toxicity in the brain?
The thing about liposomal is that its short lived NAC is better because it causes your body to produce glutathione NAC needs to be taken with selenium.
@@levondarratt787 like everything else if you take the liposomal your body will soon detect it and stop making its own That’s why the NAC is better because it promotes the production of your own glutathione I’ve never heard of anyone not making any glutathione as apposed to production just decreasing with age or illness.
The thing about aging and intervention is that what we want is sort of a prevention strategy rather then symptom management. So what we can do to offset the problem while we are younger?
with all due respect, what about Sulforaphane which you recommended that will increase glutathione in one of your video. I do appreciate you videos and kindly advise.

Hey Dr Brad. I have been taking NAC from Now Foods before bed since a couple weeks. I generally sleep 8 hours without a problem and never wake up. For whatever reason with taking this supplement before bed i wake up around 2 am every night and im wide awake, which is about after 4 hours of sleep. The supplement from Now Foods has 600mg NAC, 25mcg Selenium, 50mcg Molybdenum. Do you have any idea why i wake up and why i'm wide awake with this supplement. I tried to look everywhere to find any information about this but with no avail. When i stopped taking the supplement my sleeping went back to normal within 3-4 days i think.
This is odd, that's my basic sleep cycle but I'm not taking any NAC at all - I do take vitamins before bed. Trying to take D, C, CoQ10 in daytime to avoid it affecting my sleep. I seem to only need 5 hrs of sleep most of the time
I have read about (and experienced myself) sleep issues related to NAC. I would not take it at night. I even used a reduced dosage. The morning seems to be a much better time for this supplement. For me, it would affect my ability to fall asleep. It still could affect sleep even if taken in the morning but maybe give that a try.
@@CK3CK3 I hope it works for you. With the time change the past 2 weeks I'm only getting 3-4 hrs sleep. I fall to sleep easily & quickly, it's staying asleep I suffer from. Can I ask what NAC you take? I don't know what's good or bad.
@Oahdzzt so NAC reduces the glutamate levels in the brain which is good if you have high levels of glutamate, but if you have normal level then it decreases further, which changes the glutamate/GABA ratio in the brain, which can create anxiety. Now the 2nd half of the sleep occurs 3-4 hrs after you fall sleep, and this 2nd half is where REM sleep occurs. So if NAC changes your Glutamate/GABA ratio and creates anxiety, you can easily wake up from your sleep thats why you are getting up at 2 am in morning. I took NAC during morning and experienced anxiety, so I can imagine anxiety can come when taken at night too and kick you out of sleep. I would say try Magnesium-glicinate at night to calm the brain if taking NAC, or take NAC during day time and see.
@@ragugaranpuvaneswaran4471 Hey thanks for the information. I didn't know that at all. I tried to look up all the components but everywhere it says to take NAC before bed and only here and there there is a bit of anecdotal evidence that it disturbs sleep for some people.
As i've understood it, the body makes glutathione from cysteine and whey is high in cysteine. Therefore a highquality whey supplement would be the way to go?

I suspect this sort of thing is more in your head than anything else. I've been doing heavy training for years and have noticed zero difference. Creatine is the most researched but I could never notice a difference if I was on it or not. The mind is good at fooling us if we want to believe something...
As we age inflammation goes up, as does oxidative stress. This compromises the muscles ability to build muscle. If you restore your glutathione to youthful levels, both will go down again. So your muscles will more easily grow in response to training. If I were you, I would also add aprox. 20g of whey concentrate 20-30 minutes before any major meal for two reasons: first, it will spike leucine when taken before a meal and this will significantly improve the anabolic response to training in aged athletes, much more than any normal high protein meal could, because of the large spike in blood leucine levels. Secondly, it will sharply increase your insulin levels, which will help in regeneration because nutrients will more easily enter the cells.
I’ve had a severe psoriasis breakouts during Covid I was taking NAC with psoriasis still present I noticed a huge difference in the side effects of psoriasis on NAC versus not having any NAC and I will say with supplementing 600 mg every day has took out almost every single internal side effect I used to experience I do not know why or how but it’s like a miracle supplement for me my fatigue is gone brain fog and numerous other things that I used to have problems with or wiped away because of this in nac. NAC can have some serious side effects for some people, the doctor didn't mention for whatever reason in this video. Under rare conditions, it can cause depression, anxieties and fatigue, because it can sometimes mess with the Glutamate (not confuse with Glutathione) balance in the body. Glutamate is an important neurotransmitter. Especially for people who already suffer from depression, anxieties and fatigue, it could boost those symptoms even more, if they already have low levels of Glutamate. Maybe the doctor can have a word on this if he reads it. For me for example, taking NAC would make me even more tired and I wanted to sleep all day 24/7.
@@AlanCarson726 probably because you need glutamate, cysteine, and glycine to make glutathione, so it's used up? and glutamate is also the precursor for GABA
I began taking NAC but, then, I stopped taking NAC because I read an article on the ScienceDaily website about a study done in 2007 The source of the study was the University of Virginia Health System where it was determined that NAC can form a red blood cell-derived molecule which makes blood vessels think that they aren't getting enough oxygen. I haven't found any more recent information regarding this study.
Yes, I have found information about the study you are referring to. It was published in the journal Circulation in 2007 and conducted by researchers from the University of Virginia. The study showed that N-acetylcysteine (NAC), a commonly used antioxidant supplement, can increase the production of a molecule called "S-nitrosoglutathione" (GSNO), which can cause blood vessels to narrow and reduce blood flow. This can lead to an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes. However, it is important to note that since then, much research has been done on NAC, and there are also studies showing that it can have a positive effect on cardiovascular health. It is always best to consult with your doctor before taking supplements or medications, especially if you have a history of cardiovascular disease.
I love how you stated that oxidants are just as important as antioxidants for maintaining homeostasis. Could this mean we need to take more oxidants? Aka hyperbaric oxygen Chambers or intermittent fasting? I think the answer is yes.
As you increase lifeforce = fire = breath = oxygen you must create/maintain the host to transmute this energy into reality = antioxidant = host regulation maintenance = food energy in to maintain homeostasis. We are a walking example of an ancient symbiosis with oxygen starved mitochondria? And what happens if we don't get enough? We devolve.
Exogenous oxidants are not beneficial (in most cases). The key here is that the body uses oxidants as signaling molecules. You don't want to wipe those out with too many anti-oxidants. Exogenous oxidants do play a role in hormesis, but caution is advised.
@@leeturner1589 yes what I am meaning is that oxygen plays a major role in creating energy for our bodily systems so a decrease in the atmospheres oxygen level over time along with other pollutants creates a problem for our bio batteries "bodies". For example more oxygen plus more antioxidant healthy body to transmute oxygen into life = a life battery in a way. What we may have is an problem with our power source meaning we had to devolve and adapt to have smaller batteries "bodies" to live longer. If we look at tall people they have shorter lifespans on average compared to shorter people. Correct me if I'm wrong. I only wish to solve the problem.
think about it. how long can you live without food now without water now without air i think nutrition is very important but we might just be overlooking our atmosphere as the issue.
Taking NAC 600 mg daily .It killed the pain on my liver caused by heavy drinking at least once a week.Improved my skin condition and stopped my anxiety caused by drinking too much alcohol some weekends.I believe it works or i experience some placebo effects.what do you think?
Very good info! Thank you! I have taken NAC but it’s increasingly hard to find now. Amazon stopped selling it and it’s often sold out at the stores near me where I shop. I have not taken Serine or Glycine before so will look for those. I try to get as much through my diet as possible, without supplementation. If you can talk more about specific foods that contain some of these, that would be interesting too…I am guessing it’s going to be lots of veggies! Very few of us are eating the amount of these we need. I think our body metabolizes foods much better than supplements but I agree supplements DO have their role.
Great video. I cannot take NAC because it makes me nauseous after some time. Instead, I go to an IV bar to receive a direct blood infusion of glutathione about every other month, along with other nutrients. It seems to work for me, no unpleasant side effects.
I have been taking SALG for several months. And the lipofuscin on my hands has decreased...hoping the same is true for my brain (which is the point). Also, taking centrophenoxine to reduce brain lipofuscin. I'm curious what you think of SALG? Is it as bad as lyposomal glutathione? I should probably throw my bottles of reduced glutathione in the trash. I also take phosphatidylserine for sleep. Will trash that (concerned about the phosphorus and kidney health) and just stick with glycine & NAC (I bought 4 cases of it when I heard the FDA was making moronic decisions again). At 67, my work-out demands precise control, so I very much appreciate your vids. I use to take D-Serine for OCD and it was helpful in maintaining stress. It became difficult to find so my doctor suggested NAC. I have been taking it for awhile and it helps but not as good as D-Serine but then I may not be taking enough I only take one pill a day. Most recently I also started taking Liposomal Glutathione per my doctor's recommendation because I'm 63 and have a family history of cancer and heart disease. I watched your video to determine if the Liposomal Glutathione should be taken with NAC and I appreciate your insight about the two products.
you could take (sodium) benzoate, perhaps 2g per day. it is an inhibitor of D-amino acid oxidase, which breaks down D-serine. so benzoate preserves D-serine in the brain. they give it to schizophrenics who have NMDA dysfunction.
Thank you for this shortcut through the research. I used NAC very successfully when I had covid 2 months ago. I use glycine as a sweetener in coffee. As the NAC powder tasted awful, I sweetened it in solution with glycine, knowing glycine was one of the 3 components of glutathione. NAC did give me heartburn/stomach ache, it was so bitter, so I washed it down with milk. Problem solved. In relation to oxidant/antioxidant balance, could you also discuss the problem of NAC halting apoptosis/autophagy? These processes are equally important in aging and staving off cancer. It was mentioned in a very long article that I found on pubMed. Many thanks 😊
Bought a big bottle of liposomal glutathione for a Xmas gift for someone, haven't seen them yet so still have it. Then today I saw this. Oh boy. Bought a smaller bottle for myself weeks ago, been taking it. Back to NAC and glycine. Shucks. I was hesitant to watch this didn't want to hear anything negative about glutathione.
You know, you have started changing my mind on GSH supplementation....I really need to do some more research now! I had already stopped pulsing GSH earlier in the year, but if indeed it can disrupt the bodies ability to oxidize, it could be enabling things like virii, cancer, etc. YIKES! The issue I have with NAC is that it can disrupt our gut lining. Maybe there is a better way to get cysteine without the large gut disruption? I can't imagine what 1.5g twice daily would do to the gut lining!
Thanks Brad, good research and well balanced information as always. Small correction: the landmark paper mentioned at 02:30 was published in 2013 (not 2009).
Hi Brad, what do you this of this study? " Oral supplementation with liposomal glutathione elevates body stores of glutathione and markers of immune function"
Excellent overview on the subject. Thanks I'm 72, use to take both Glysine and NAC; recently learned serine converted to glysine, so dropped glysine and moved to serine.
I am surprised you disregarded the main indication for NAC which is to loosen mucus in the lungs, specially in asthmatics. You did not mention the lungs in your video.
I read that too, maybe the Lipoic part of the name means that ALA is one of the liposomal Glutathiones, and could be dangerous? is this correct Dr Stanfield?
Update: I plan on taking NAC from age 45, not serine

They should of tested people with mental health issues because of how toxic free radicals can be in a environment filled with them which will demand a lot of antioxidants, especially glutathione.
good point
NAC helps improve the Heath of people suffering from dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
Studies aren't worth the paper they're written on
I (55 years) have already been taking glynac for 3 months now. 600 mg nac and 3 grams glycine before bed. It really makes me feel better (relaxed and more energy). Additional benefit is that glycine also promotes better sleep. So if you’re lacking energy and/or have sleeping troubles try it.

I have read that NAC, which is an amino acid, may also be helpful for:
*healing the neurotoxic damage associated with cocaine and amphetamine use, as well as improving several mental disorders*
It is recommended that it's taken on an empty stomach or at least 2 hours after food.
From what I have read, NAC doesn't absorb well, so the ideal time to take it is on rising in a morning, at least 30 mins before eating.
It can also disturb sleep, so taking it prior to bed is not recommended, according to what I have read.
mdma included (an amphetamine)👍🏻
But you need food to better absorb medicines, vitamins etc absorption otherwise you urinate most of it out? Isn't it recommend to take NAC with a protein meal?
I read the opposite. NAC should be taken at night.

Glutathione is popular in Southeast Asia, even for the younger people. It is not used for anti aging, it is used for its side effect-for skin lightening. As is the high demand for whitening creams and related products, it makes sense that glutathione supplements will also follow the same trend.
Thank you for taking the time to create these videos and post them to RUclips.

Some mouse studies show that NAC supplementation can lead to cancer onset. The question is whether glutathione levels go down after a certain age because the body can’t cope with too much glutathione in the presence of many senescent cells. Same problem than with NAD+ precursors.
or maybe oxidants have anti-cancer effects.

That's why the "media" spreads propaganda whenever a cheap alternative to the "vaccines" & the new pills is discovered. Take Pfizer's new pill. (Developed using tax dollars and $17 to make but charging $700 for a 5 day treatment). It is a protease inhibitor. It blocks 3CL Protease. Do you know what else blocks 3CL Protease? Ivermectin. As for NAC, it thins mucous, helping your lungs clear out any foreign substances. Also it's my understanding that NAC helps the lungs produce glutathione.

@leelunk8235 like which foods?
There's some claim online that MSM which Methyl Sulfonyl Methane also helps Glutathione levels. Is this true?
Sigh. I'm nostalgic for the old days two years ago when I'd just heard about David Sinclair and believed that some NR and a spot of resveratrol and maybe some olive oil and fasting in addition to a healthy lifestyle were going to fix everything. That seemed manageable.

Wonderful, useful information Dr. Stanfield.
Thanks for the heads up!
I had this issue and now i just take it before bed and sleep even better
@@AlanCarson726 probably because you need glutamate, cysteine, and glycine to make glutathione, so it's used up? and glutamate is also the precursor for GABA

Look into L-Theanine and GABA to restore neurotransmitters....some ppl require this when taking NAC due to nuero toxicity issues.
As you increase lifeforce = fire = breath = oxygen
you must create/maintain the host to transmute this energy into reality = antioxidant = host regulation maintenance = food energy in to maintain homeostasis. We are a walking example of an ancient symbiosis with oxygen starved mitochondria? And what happens if we don't get enough? We devolve.
Oxidants + Antioxidant = homeostatic lifespan limit
increase O and A to increase HLL?
I only wish to solve the problem.
think about it. how long can you live without food
now without water
now without air
i think nutrition is very important but we might just be overlooking our atmosphere as the issue.

If you can talk more about specific foods that contain some of these, that would be interesting too…I am guessing it’s going to be lots of veggies! Very few of us are eating the amount of these we need. I think our body metabolizes foods much better than supplements but I agree supplements DO have their role.

you could take (sodium) benzoate, perhaps 2g per day. it is an inhibitor of D-amino acid oxidase, which breaks down D-serine. so benzoate preserves D-serine in the brain. they give it to schizophrenics who have NMDA dysfunction.

It's fascinating that NAC can hinder autophagy!
