He said it!! I think that's the first time I ever heard a conductor say "All aboard" in one of these Grab Bags! There were some really nice fallen flags in this one, the last LORAM footage in Fort Madison was surreal and amazing, the lightning in OKC was wonderful, and it was great to see the Rocky Mountaineer on Big 10--epic! But the eclipse stole the show. Thank you so much for including it--this one was unforgettable!

Great one here for sure! An Amtrak conductor actually calls, "All Aboard!" ...& the Great Solar Eclipse! Fairport NY was covered seconds before I watched it from my home in Seneca Falls! AWESOME!!! Thank you for capturing it here.
Puzzle Fodder! Rail grinder on the bridge at Fort Madison at night was awesome! Fairport was really the best of ALL (not kidding) the eclipse grabs I've seen, that was very impressive, TY for that one...
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains in multiple locations, especially the solar eclipse, Heritage Units, and so much more, I like them, @Virtual Railfan, thank you very much.
Thank you VR for the continuing of the Cryro Car names. FYI there is a Sterling, New York. At least the DARWIN didn't try to go over the train with his bike and decided to walk to the end of the train. Still, surprised, he gotten a lesson to always look before you leap 😮.
I'm way behind on my grab bags but I LOVED this one because the two named refrigerator cars had each of my grandparents' names, side by side. Odd but satisfying. 😂 Thanks for sharing these. Great way to wrap up eaxh evening.
7:45 One of the best examples on why to never cross the tracks on a double track (even tho in this case there were no gates where he was crossing) when the gates are down even though one of the trains are stopped. Also why to not trespass on railroad property. Not tryna be a nerd but.
Nice…. I was catching up on the trains of the day from Revelstoke after I woke up at 2:00pm and sent in a request for the triple DPU. Kind of funny because you already had it out on the Grab Bag, I just hadn’t got to it yet.
I saw the total solar eclipse on all 8 cams that were in the path including Russellville and Fairport. I got to be honest, the pink sky in Fairport as the end of the moon's shadow approached was absolutely incredible, very fitting that it was the last cam to see it all.
Great catches, thanks VRF. My Athearn B/Box 'Marinette Tomahawk & Western RC Boxcar lives on at Waycross. Executive SD70MAC 9745 at Burlington. Strasburg RR SW8 No.8618 and 475 looked nice together with an Electric speeding by. Named Amtrak coaches at Elkhart and I liked also, the view along the curve @3:00
I live along the CSX bowline that runs through Waycross and those boxcars are semi regular sights along my part of the line. It seems like there's one on a train every now and then.
Hi, I'm in the UK and looked-up Waycross Diamond on 'Maps'. It is a fairly impressive Jct. and Yard. It is good to learn that the Boxcars remain in use. I noted that the r/p was AGR (no X) and discovered the Alabama & Gulf Coast Railway (Class II railroad) owned by Genesee & Wyoming. I browsed CSX Bowline and came up with 'The Waycross-Montgomery Line, which has a good write-up in Wiki too. Thank you for your reply.@@bowlinerailfan

Thanks for the eclipse video. That guy wasn't a Darwin. A Darwin would've tried to beat that train by hopping across wet rails. That guy was just a regular Joe - he looked, he saw it coming, he backed off, and he let it pass. Joe.
Tomahawk, Marinette and Western is pretty far from northern Wisconsin. I live in the state and I can honestly say I’ve never seen one of their cars outside of the few miles of paper mill track they normally operate on. The name was shortened to just Tomahawk after they were sold around 2000. Long history back to late 1800’s. Nice touch using black and white on the steam loco at the end of the video.
That Darwin was luckier than the Darwin outside of Delia, KS this morning who attempted to cross between cars on a stopped train. It seems they failed to notice the train coming on the second track. Fortunately, they ended up in the hospital and not the funeral home.
Years ago Norfolk Southern took a couple of old locomotives, removed the engines and fuel tanks, added electronics and sensors, and turned them into track testing machines. I think it was a couple - at least two.
Okay, when is CSX going to get these heritage schemes right? I’m sorry but leaving the front end in CSX IS NOT a heritage scheme! At least NS did it right. How many of you feel the same way?
I think it's a good way for a current road to pay hommage to its ancestors - we are who we are but this is where we come from. That, to me, is better than painting units in a modern interpretation of an old scheme (which actually isn't that close to the original).

It's really cool when train crews (and railfans) realize the cameras are there, like the Amtrak guy did at the end. Gotta love the railroads :)

I so agree! We live in western NY and it got completely dark like that! Seen 2 sunrises and a sunset in one day, best thing ever!!
I did not get full totality of the eclipse here in southeastern kansas. I did however see the one in 2017 up in Nebraska.

Oh wow excellent banner dude.
That was awesome!
Did a drive by at Ft. Madison on the way home from the eclipse. It's right along Business 61. Just didn't have time to stop and wave!
This channel has economic class and executive class. As the m/v Titanic.
Thanks for the eclipse video.

Very nice videos like them all really like the maintenance crew I think grinding the track
Missed him by that much! 😮
Can we have a close up of that cherry (?) tree at Cascadia Inn, before the blossoms fall?

Chicago Metra had some excellent Milwaukee Rd n C&NW heritage units pulling Metra customers!

at about @2:20, what's the assortment of Amtrak stock rolling through Elkhart IN ?
The total eclipse was caught on 6 cams (EDIT: I saw it on all 6); I'm surprised he didn't show all of them.
EDIT: It was still cool regardless.
I screencapped the totality moments and plan to share soon (on a platform without copyright takedowns).
@@SethMethCS Cool!
Amazing!

I was not expecting to see a Marinette, Tomahawk & Western boxcar in this grab bag.
@4:11 BNSF need a dedicated passenger locomotive they could buy Amtraks old P42s for they’re OCS train
They had passenger locomotives but they donated them to museums.
You would think after a close call like that you would look both ways before attempting to cross again. nope.
It happens at 7:35 everyone.
The person with the bike almost got his Darwin Award. But a dirty pair of pants instead.
7:50. So when does it happen (because it's going to happen)? If you blur❤❤❤❤ it out, will RUclips let you show it?
Look both ways before crossing the street.. same applies to rails ppl
Idk do you not hear the horn or see the lights coming your way
Numbskull that had bike trying to run out of Amtrak was dumb move almost
At least that Darwin did stop once he saw the train

Ciao Sergio, We will be visiting Italy for a month in October!!!
Where is Italy?

This was a spectacular for Solar Eclipse, I’m sad that it won’t happen again until 2044
Next Total is 2026 in Greenland, Iceland and Spain
@@pokeytoaster7029 Totality for the 2027 one in Slain and North Africa will be 6 1/2 minutes!!
So what might happen to N&W 611?.
on display at the Virginia Museum of Transportation. no plans have been made to run her anywhere yet
Way "too" close.
I have to much to do...
Darwins and dead Darwins. Eventually they will merge into one much as the sun and moon did.
Difference fromDarwins: the sun comes back.

Better than BNSF with their tiny decals.
True
Better than nothing at all. They don’t owe us anything.
Okay so they don’t owe us anything, but it still looks dumb
