Except that there are now reports of Sam Raimi never fully watched WandaVision so no. She herself did change but there are easy fixes that could have lined more correctly. Example rather than Wanda being the villian it should have been Cython who in the comics took control of her body. It would have been more interesting if Cython used the power of the Scarlet Witch and attack all Wanda's of the multi-verse turn all of them into the scarlet witch or absorbing all of them. It would have also been more interesting if she still did what she did but also sacrificed herself to make the children from the other world real while destroying the darkhold and Cython.

I think people in there love for wanda vision actually forgot that wanda has always been selfish she started as a villain after all. Her arc in wanda vision was making peace with vision s death and understanding her power so she turned to the only source she had . The thing is I don't think she even wanted to be a hero she just joined avengers because that's what was left for her. she can be good of course but through out her mcu journey we can see she has always been a bit resistant ,emotional and impulsive about things but there was always someone to look out and guide her about things like her brother, vision , the avengers but her greatest desire tho was always a stable love filled life which she was gona have with vision until she had to kill him.
she finally had a taste of that in wanda vision but realized its fake and harming others she stopped . After that she is alone and darkhold was the only source to know about things when she saw her fake reality is a real reality somewhere she wanted that and lost herself completely in her desire this time she didn't have anyone to guide her in her head she is right and only doing all this because of her kids no one was gona stop her except her kids as strange realized and told america to let wanda see it for herself she finally saw who she has become from her kids eyes .
I think the theme is she is her own worst enemy which is what marvel trying to show . And in future wanda would have to except both her good and evil side and find a balance in between .

Wanda is a phenomenal character who has seen her share of days both on the heroic side of the spectrum as well as the villainous but it's definitely getting very odd how so many people rush to whitewash her actions. She was the one who chose to resume Ultron's murder mission in Africa by haunting Bruce and the Hulk into going on a rampage, she was the one who chose to ignore everyone from Hayward to Monica to Vision to Agatha to the very people of Westview who were all telling her time and time again that she had them enslaved. It was how mentally unstable she was but unfortunately, as result, she, in her panic, even attempted to gaslight the poor citizens of Westview when they begged her to free their children from the room they had been locked in for a month while their parents desperately attempted to save their own minds from days spent physically being forced to live out a bizarre TV sitcom and nights suffering Wanda's nightmares, strangling them in response to their tormented pleas. While Wanda is a perfect example of the inner devastation and turmoil grief and suffering and loss can cause and outwardly express, and she deserves so much sympathy for her loss and her journey, it's very odd how a lot of fans are clambering, still, to defend her and argue against any accountability or responsibility for Westview simply because of her grief. Grief isn't an excuse, a get out of jail free card or a blank check to commit more grief onto others and that's the key part people are missing. I don't even blame Wanda for the Multiverse of Madness as the Darkhold had corrupted her (we saw the same it could do to Strange) but people ignoring her conscious decisions in Wandavision, regardless of grief, are very odd, to me.

Be sure to watch WandaVision, but ignore any "lessons" that Wanda might have learned about grief while she was grieving for Vision...like the ones shoved in our faces during the Penultimate Episode....sigh...I would love to understand the actual reason for why Wanda was taken in the exact Opposite Direction that was indicated at the end of WandaVision...
Also...her boys were created by Magic while she was inside a Magic Bubble of her own creation...how are there stable versions of them exactly? Who was their Father?

    • @tempest2789
      @tempest2789 2 года назад +20

      1) It wasn't the opposite direction though. WandaVision ended with her actively looking for Billy and Tommy in the multiverse. Meaning, she didn't learn anything. She didn't move on. The show ended hinting her decent into darkness
      2) The concept of the multiverse implies that all possibilities are real, which is how the multiverse is infinite as something as small as you making a choixe between cereal and toast for breakfast, creates two different universes.
By this logic, Billy and Tommy were magical creations on Earth 616, but were real on other universes. The father could be Vision or some random man. They could be adopted. They could be magical creations, but actually stable and well made.
      Any possibility is valid.

@@astralaurora4165 exactly! and I am well aware of the corrupting influence of the Darkhold...it is just such a 90 degree turn for where the Character was left at the end of WandaVision...
Honestly, what this movie needed was someone exactly like Nightmare to be included. Basically, use the recreation of the Multiverse as an excuse to say Nightmare got a "Power Boost" or was "Awakened" when Kang died and Trillions of "new" Dreams and Nightmares were created for them to "feast" on. But when an instant lasts an eternity, you get bored really quickly, and Nightmare became obsessed with Wanda's Obsession of getting her kids back...so he threw the idea into her head that they still existed in the Multiverse and that it was the only way to see them again...Nightmare could have been the whisper in Wanda's ear that she was not expecting while she fought the corrupting influence of The Darkhold (the influence she was warned about and would have taken far more precautions than it appears she did)...
The greatest thing about Nightmare is that they are not a being that can simply be defeated...the only real way to "beat" them is by actually facing your fears so that they have Less Power over you.
It would have allowed Wanda to go nuts like she did, introduce a villain much like Mephisto without being them (so like a sub boss lol), NOT established the idea that Dreams are memories from the Multiverse (........I understand that Time is a weird thing in the MCU...BUT...all of the characters were still Dreaming when there was only 1 sacred timeline...so....yeah), allowed Wanda to screw over Chiton and Nightmare at the end, AND allowed Wanda a Villain to focus on for her true redemption arc....

Both interpretations are valid since we won't get any confirmation lol
Honestly, this is just a product of Raimi's writers not taking the time doing a quick fact check with WandaVision's writers. Wanda suffered from having two writing teams not properly working together to make her cohesive as a character.

I don't like how Wanda being portrayed in this movie. All praise to Elizabeth Olsen, she is the real embodiment of the Scarlet Witch, but i was hoping for a more positive turn for Wanda fate. But instead, Marvel just added more tragedies to her life, like if your life is full of tragedies, you will eventually become a villain. I think it would send a really negative message to the audience. I was hoping to see Wanda learn to live with her pain, heal and make greatness out of her miseries. Hope that MCU would consider this in later projects. About the Darkhold corrupting her thing, I think this was what she brought on herself. Just like Agatha, they both chose to open it and practice the dark magic written on it. She never learned from what happened in Westview. I could sympathize for Wanda and understand why she snapped in WandaVision, but in this one, this was all on her. Even though being corrupted, Wanda didn't seem like someone who didn't aware of what she was doing. She could see clearly what she has become through her sons' eyes. She didn't seem like the Darkhold put her on its puppet strings. Therefore, she is responsible for those crimes she commited. My heart bled for her, but I thought Marvel could have done better on her character 🤷‍♀️

Olsen was INCREDIBLE in this movie. The Acting is what saved this movie...because the story makes no sense based on what has come before...Wanda's Children only existed in a Reality Bubble, but what this movie is saying is that Wanda actually COPIED them from the Multiverse and used her magic to create them in THIS Reality...so who was the Father? It sure doesn't appear to be Vision on Earth 838 where the Illuminati were...I mean....HOW does THAT Wanda even HAVE Children??????? Wouldn't it be easier to use Magic on 616 to recreate them? Even with Dark Magic???
There are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many Holes that this movie Alone creates....and that is of HUGE Worry for the MCU going forward. It appears we may need to be ready for sudden character shifts that make no sense (like how Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, constantly talks about secrets that come with the mantle, that were never reveled to Strange I guess, but then he constantly defers to Strange in just about every situation, and do they remember Strange warping reality for Spider-Man or not???? That was really unclear.............bc if Wong remembers, it makes little sense that he would trust Strange as much as he does in this movie....)

They literally cut the legs off of their own narrative. Her personal and emotional journey in Wandavision. Losing vision and creating the alternate reality to deny her pain. Then literally goes through the 5 stages of grief, and arrives at a place of acceptance and repentance about the wrongs she committed. And while the show wasn't that great, it was a damned beautiful character arc, imo. Then, in 1 short after credit scene, that's all undone by inserting a Mcguffin or "DarkHold" which basically "possess" Wanda into making her baby crazy? Besides being a terrible example of writing, you could argue it's some really problematic archaic "She's just Hysterical" bullshit. Hard Pass

Why do people keep calling it a drastic change? It’s literally foreshadowed throughout the entirety of WandaVision and Agatha is practically a reflection of what she becomes in Multiverse of Madness, the Darkhold latched onto her obsession with being with Billy and Tommy again so much so to the point that she is willing to kill an innocent girl in order to be with them again, it’s not until Chavez shows her what she’s become by showing how terrified her own kids are of her that she finally snaps out of it and realises what she’s become, I definitely don’t think she’s dead but I think she’s most likely faked her death and gone into exile somewhere in the multiverse

I felt that this Doctor Strange movie is part of Wanda's tragic story to her path of self-discovery to her happiness. Marvel should do a Vision series from the Tom King comics, which Vision create his own family to live in the suburbs and he gets there by meeting with his creator's wife Pepper Stark and she allow him to stay at one of Starks labs and there he has the necessary materials to create his family. The ending of that series Wanda makes a cameo appearance, but this is an after credit for what happens in Wong's movie, and you don't see Wanda and Vision together again unitil Wong's movie.
Agatha Harkness, I think is getting a series which Marvel can explore how Agatha can help Wanda right after what happened in the MOM movie, she seeks Agatha's help as she warns Wanda, she will need but Wanda is unaware that a mystic force has been watching her and is coming to drain her powers Nightmare or Mephisto most likely Nightmare sent by Mephisto because she destroyed the Darkhold and Mephisto need to restore that corrupting source back into the multiverse. These ladies Wanda and Agatha join forces to take on Nightmare and get help from Wong because Doctor Strange is still off planet. Before all that is started Agatha inform Wanda that her kid's spirits are still on earth, and she can help her find them.

I love Olsen’s ability of breathing LIFE into the character role! She’s, if not the top/best, then heavy hitting artist performing to being brought to the heavy hitter lineup!!! IF one does NOT know the character’s true story, then they’ll be lost even with any changes potentially intro’d into MCU!!! Olsen’s outstanding, audience encapturing, TOP LINE PERFORMANCES or acting ability of the best performing across the MCU as accordingly as her role truly is in the comics that brings understanding to what TRUTH IS!!!!!
She PROVES WHAT INTENT & EMOTION can do with vibrations and frequencies from energy forms...aka....life forces / spirit energies, universal & spiritual energies, and everything here today that IS energy; like rocks moving in the Death Valley Desert / National Park in Cali!!!! As THIS IS WHAT bending, borrowing, using energies around us and in conjunction WITH our own....just like a spell being the same as a prayer! The right text, words, thoughts United with the 98% of magic, prayers, etc IS EMOTION & INTENT so no need to utilize incantations (spoken or thought words) and sending the energies out from ourselves like being on blended knees during one’s shedding / cracking stages of life which not only brings us closer to our own inner darkness side as nature is both, depending on one’s perceptions & we realize exactly what we have inside us & what we are truly capable of...if not already known or realized yet as everyone has their individual breaking points impacted varied like we each are our own fingerprints as our own soul energy is the same!!!!!
She’s the BEST performer in the MCU which is why she has won over sooooooo many new & older fans witnessing her creation bringing audiences into the movies / series / etc. ONE of her newest remarkable pieces in the MOM was that emotion, energy, intent, etc placed in the discussion with Strange in the air prior to attacking, when she said....”This IS me.....being............reasonable!” also the TRUTH being laid out like so many of us enlightened/ evolved / sensitives express.....Wanda: “Your hypocrisies” have exhausted my patience. . . . . Again, another point of real life where she shows & expresses herself LIVING HER TRUTH / ALIBI.....remaining true to one’s self is the ONLY WAY TO TRULY LIVE!!

Eh, the issue is more that Strange is so blasé or entirely uninterested about the fact Wanda isn't in control of herself. He's like "Meh, guess we have to kill her" after maybe 2 minutes of dialogue- he even knows she's not acting out as brutally as she wants to. And you could say "F-k you, that's not fair! She was being selfish, wah, wah, wah"....well, America only just showed Wanda to her kids and the Darkhold released her, that's it! She's didn't ever have to kill all those people if he appealed to her humanity FIRST. So if all you ever had to do was demonstrate for her what he children would think, that sounds a lot more logical than "Oh lemme make myself a zombie and get ghosts to wrestle her".

Strange acted like he and Wanda didn't even have a friendship, like Wanda hadn't been a part of the Avengers for years and didn't help save the world with him. It was like "oh Wanda is corrupted, we have to kill her"....and then zero emotion or remorse or hurt after she "dies", like she was just some random villain he won against. Meanwhile, compare how he was with Peter and there's a stark difference. Sam Raimi's writers shat on this.

Show not tell. That was the problem with the writing. They kept telling us how the Darkhold slowly corrupts, but we don't see Wanda being corrupted just that she already is corrupted. We started the movie with her already gone dark, THEN being told what happened to her. It's lazy writing, disrespectful to her character who went on a beautiful emotional arc in her prior appearance, and creates what felt like a sudden drastic change. They could've spent like maybe 10-15 min in the beginning setting that up rather than just throwing us and her into this villainous turn and then using the lazy "Darkhold corruption" explanation after.

I've got many questions about Doctor Strange 2, and I wish that people could respond to them: Firt question is why does Doctor Strange refused to give Wanda her own reality? Next question is if Wanda is really dead?

Wanda's motivations makes no sense she's gonna travel in multiverse find one version of herself that has her kids kill that variant and gonna assume the role of their mother. What she cant pursue another recently single avenger member to make babies with ?

The darkhold doesn't give power or magic. It teaches you the truth, knowledge and spells. And you need magic to do the spells, so normal mortals are nothing with the darkhold but the knowledge.

Seriously, It’s hard for the director / producer / writers
    to please everybody..
    In infinity war
Wanda & Vision were ambushed by 2 Black Order.
Haters: “complaining how weak they are being portrayed since the rest of avengers came to rescue them both”
    In End Game
Wanda almost destroyed Thanos before being hit by missiles
Haters: “Wanda is the 2nd if not the strongest avenger, its absurd she can’t dodge or create shield prior being hit”
In Dr. Strange 2, Scarlett Witch defeated everyone, except eventually being “multiversely punched” by a kid.
Haters: “it’s crazy she can easily defeated Dr. Strange, making him useless, her power don’t make sense”
    If…
Wanda, Dr. Strange or Ancient One
Is able to defeat all enemies, including Thanos, Dormamu and Galactus,
therefore the rest of avengers / marvel superheroes are useless ?
Each character has their own screentime to showcase their combat skills.
MCU and avengers -> not only about 1 most powerful superhero
Therefore, The writers need to adjust power and combat skills for all superheroes to create a realistic storyline to surprise and please the fans.
    ❤️💚

I know what they were trying to do… but they did it so poorly. Also, she created them once and she can create them again. The issue the first time is that she wasn’t trained enough and tied her children to Westview so that she couldn’t free the town without dissolving them but clearly she can do it again. This movie was unnecessary and almost every character in it is worse off for having been on it.
