Hello, Luke! I am a LEPSTER from Taiwan. It's amazing to discover that many people here in Taiwan listen to your podcast. I appreciate your kind and knowledgeable efforts, and listening to your podcasts has become a daily routine for me. Although I rarely need to speak English in my daily life, I believe learning English is like exercising - it requires persistence and regular practice. Thanks again for your informative content at various levels. It really helps me improve and is interesting enough to keep me listening.
Hi, Glad to know that you are a regular listener. Luke is so nice speaker and even I have been benefited so much from his episodes. Keep Going. For me, listening to his episodes is like a hobby and it feels good and satisfied.
Hello teacher Luke 👋😊 First of all,Thank you for the tremendous effort that you're putting into your work! It's highly appreciated ☺️ Also, I would like to emphasize on the fact that your podcast isn't only serving its main purpose but also being a great companion for some people who are struggling in life either with health issues...Like me ..or with something else. Personally, it's helping me coping with whatever I'm going through. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. Ps. Sorry for the mistakes, I'm still working on my English. With love and peace from Algeria 🇩🇿❤
Welcome to Taiwan! Enjoy the food and the culture ,especially the passion Taiwanese have for those friends who come here from all over the world.Visit not just the night markets, but the countryside as well. There definitely will be surprises waiting for you everywhere.Enjoy your stay.
Hi Luke, I always enjoy listening to your podcast. It was a pleasure again with Kate. I agree with many of your followers. Your podcast is simply the best, also because Luke the person always shines through. ❤
Lovely to receive this updated episode that captures Kate's new life here in Taiwan. As a Taiwanese, I'm really happy and excited to hear more about her life later on the podcast!!!!
I've got a degree in 16th century literature from Tehran University. Few years teaching, then travelling, working abd learning during my husband's diplomatic mission. A position that after 79 in Iran went bad to catastrophic, ending in asylum seeking. Trauma therapy and the package didn't help. I so decided to write our story. In September i went back to college near me in order to refresh my horribly rusty English i was lucky to meet an amazing devoted, learners centered tutor, Sabina. This course changed something in me. Im 74, still working, teaching. And 3 weeks ago I found your channel, too the top, great. If your guest likes politique and autobiography, voilà " chemin non pris- un hiver à Téhéran", published by l'harmattan, Paris you can see I borrowed the name from Robert Frost poems. My question : do you work as a literary agent, too? And accept manuscript? Thanks a million for this fruitful channel ❤ Have a wonderful festive season
Thanks as usual for your precious contents Luke. I must say that working for the British Council is like joining the Navy. Chances to move around the world and lovely adventures getting accustomed to new cultures and attitudes. And all that taking fun and peace and not weapons! Congratulations
Yeyy,a new lesson🎉! Hi Luke! How's life treating you? Thank you for this natural and spontaneous conversation💙! I'm looking forward to listening to the short story episode😁.
Hey Luke, I've just finished listening to this episode.. and I have share it with friend of mine from Taiwan, and it turns out that she also had been subscribing to the Luke's English podcast😅 thank you for your work
Welcome to Kate. Thanks Luke, I am intoxicated by your beautiful English pronunciation every day. I look forward to one day being able to 100% understand your videos.
Hi Luke! Great episode, Kate is so nice and smiling ❤ I've realized that it's much easier for me to speak English during my tchatting sessions after listening a lot of native conversations! I used to listen to your podcast a lot a couple of years before, so I'm happy to restart doing it. Thanks a lot ❤
Welcome Kate🎉🇹🇼❤️ As a Taiwanese lepster, I was incredibly surprised and excited to see "Taiwan" shown in the video title😆 To be honest, I've been a ninja here for about 3 years since I started listening to LEP. I think it's the perfect time for me to show up from the shadow😝
Hi Luke and Kate, I'm a Taiwanese potter. We design round shapes for winter vessels because the closer and inward rim can hold the temperature better, also the thicknesses of them are normally greater compared with those for summer. What Luke said in the video contributed to the effect as well.
Hi Luke, hope all is well. Thank you for your lovely padcasts. Could you please do a padcast about how we can overcome being stuck at an intermediate level?
Hi, I did a couple of episodes about breaking the intermediate plateau a few years ago. They're not on RUclips but you can listen to them here 👇 Part 1 teacherluke.co.uk/2016/10/05/385-breaking-the-intermediate-plateau-part-1/ Part 2 teacherluke.co.uk/2016/10/05/386-breaking-the-intermediate-plateau-part-2/
I'd also like to move somewhere for 2-3 years, and I have feeling that your podcasts are becoming more common understandable for me lately, even sometimes I can catch a sence of your joking)) thank you Luke and thank your guests
Loved your postcast! Thank you. It's a new discovery to me. Just one comment: when you travel abroad - but also in your country, if it happens to be Italy - it's always a good idea to be at the railway/underground station well before your train/flight is due. I had nerve-wrecking experiences in Paris, London, St. Petersburg, Prague, Barcelona, Moscow, New York... (not Taiwan!) But, as an Italian, I feel it's in our genes not to trust signs, timetables and so on. Even though, in Italy public transport (including SIGNS) has certainly improved a bit. Luke, your humour makes me think of my former English lover, a Londoner who's still in my heart, after many many years. I smiled and laughed at your jokes as if I had been with him again. We're still in touch after more than 35 years. What a blessing the unmistakable English sense of humour is! Thank you again!
I'm not a skeleton hahaha. I am a Chinese girl but I am in Peru now, working as an international volunteer but worry about being jobless afterwards, I did not expect that at all before I left China. Anyway, your podecast is the best, I have known so much about UK, I have improved my English, will keep up with your podcast!!
hi luke hope u r doing great luke ur accent is very clear i can understand each an every word uttered by u but at the same time i listen to other podcast from the uk to understand him or her is very difficult
Kate amazing, you are welcome at anytime in France. Your story in the metro just really funny. Tu as raison en France parfois la signalétique est mauvaise.😉
Have just listened to this on Podcast few days ago but think I want to come here to leave comment! So to response to the late opened coffee shop situation, I think there's two reason about it haha 1. The coffee from convenient stores is too good and cheap so the coffee shop in the morning might be hard to compete. if opened in the early morning. (and most of the convenient stores in Taiwan are 24/7!!!)(I miss it so much) 2. Taiwan's work-life balance is sadly bad. Many people need to work till late night so they need to go to a coffee shop or grab a coffee late to keep them awake and work. It's almost impossible to see in the UK. But overall, I believe Kate would love Taiwan as it's a liberal and friendly country!! Welcome xx
So surprised that Kate complained about cafe in Taiwan. I think it is more than easy to get a cup of caffee at 7 a.m. Totally no problem. Of course there is not English breakfast everywhere. But you can get all kinds of breads, croissants, bagels, and local style bereakfast. Definitely, all around, especially in Taipei.
A big warm hello from Taiwan 🇹🇼 i ´ve been a persistent Ninja listener for a year, since i moved to Taipei, but now the time has come for me to go public. Welcome to Taiwan
Welcome, Kate! I guess we Taiwanese are used to have coffee at home or get it from 7-11.😉(Rush to the office!)
The mug is Baymax ❤
How did you not know that Luke lived in Japan, Kate? :))))
It will be a pleasure, if you record a podcast about Barby.
Spherical mug keep tea warmer due to low surface area to volume ratio and heat transfer rate depend on surface area.
