This video shows how I built a DIY modern dining table, starting with a cheap hollow core door. This design would also make a great desk. It's an easy build that takes just a day. I chose to laminate this table with zebra wood veneer, but you could choose any wood veneer you like. I used some steel X Frame Table legs and this table was together in no time at all.

Growing up most of our tables were doors on left over bases :D glad to see other people doing it too. We never made it pretty like this though :D
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Its amazing finishing 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
WOW. Looks as beautiful as a hardwood table without the cost or weight! This is something I think I could actually do! Thanks for the great idea and inspiration April!
Is there anything not to love about April?
I’ve been watching her grow for years and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.
Looks amazing April. Something so cheap and simple just increased in value like 10X. Love the legs too.
This is how to make a beautiful table
That is beautiful! When I worked for an engineering firm, in the olden days, we always made our side reference tables out of hollow core doors; this brings back memories.
That's great! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
That has the WOW factor. Alan
The finished table was beautiful!
I love to see you making iron parts and welding
That looks amazingly beautiful! Great idea for a casual easy build table.
This looks very good! My first large workbench was made out of a steel entry door. I put the doorknob hole to the back, against the wall. Worked great, still miss that bench with the reclaimed steel cabinets underneath.
Nowadays you could probably sell a workbench like that as a desk for big money (and the doorknob hole could be used as a wire passthrough). lol
Love these practical projects that the average person can duplicate (or at least attempt). Once a CNC machine comes into the picture, I tend to fade out. Good video.
That table turned out FANTASTIC!!! Great idea to use the hollow core door.
I would love to watch you build a bamboo laminated table❤️🥰
April that looks AWESOME!!!!! I'm thinking about doing something similar for my kitchen counter. My father in law used linoleum tiles for it and they are now peeling off after about 10 years or so.
Thanks for sharing and God bless
Thanks for sharing.
I have long thought of the cheap hollow core doors as big "project panels" but would not have thought of this! great project idea.
Also, while the bigger and longer projects are awesome (the outdoor kitchen, etc.) - these one day builds are really cool - small projects we might be able to tackle in a weekend or so. especially now that fall in texas means more time in the garage....
thanks again for sharing.
Great job looks great. I've used solid core doors for work benches. Thanks 😊🙏
Awesome! Thank you!
We love how the table turned out!! Beautiful job! And now you have CHAIRS!!
Thanks so much! 😊 Total Boat for the win!
That's a beautiful table. Nice work. God Bless!
Thank you very much!
That was a cool rolling tool you used to bond the veneer.
Love it! Used this idea for my dinning room table!! But I used a solid door slab from home Depot which worked out great!! Thanks for the idea!!
April, you’re crazy amazing!!!
👍, Nice job, I'm looking forward to seeing the Bamboo table build. 👍
amazed by your skills one day can finish one kitchen table
good job
awesome video, I have used solid core door and "butcher block" counter tops for work benches before, shall try this, Oh, the Triton Belt Sander link goes to sanding belts only.
Beautiful job. Nice work April.
Love this idea, April! Great job, too!
Glad you liked it!!
Your videos, your projects, your explanations.....are awesome!!! Last night I OD'd on you! 9 hours and 23 videos later....I stumbled to bed at 4 am. The tiny house build in Washington, all the new workshop video's, the big log mill, and a few others. Simply amazing. Congrat's on your fantastic progress. Jim in Phoenix.
This is an amazing table. I am crazy about the look of that zebra wood veneer. Thanks for sharing this build with us.
Glad you like it!
In the 70s, my father built my brother and I desks out of hollow core doors. They were HUGE and amazing. Great for plastic modeling.
Wow! A hollow core door! Crazy and awesome. It is so pretty. I love everything you build and make.
Thank you so much!
Great looking table. You could check the store for damaged doors to make table projects. On attaching legs to the table maybe you cut out a opening on the bottom of the table and add a solid lumber in the opening to attach the legs to. Stay safe.
Was just thinking about that
Love the zebra wood choice!
Thanks! I just love it too. Thanks for watching.
In the 60’s my father needed the same for his wife and 7 children. While not as fancy, as yours, my dad solved our needs with a door in Muskego, Wisonsin.
Great job AW! I hope your table has Jesus there daily like he was at our door/table for 30-40 years!
God’s Blessings,
Richard “Curly” Wentland
Stunning beautiful table!!! Loved the tutorial April!!! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks so much!
BEST use ever for a hollow core door -- I LOVE THAT TABLE, thanks for the video

This is my favorite build yet. Great job! I can't wait to make one myself.
Awesome! Thank you!
Wow! Love it!
Love this Idea April... It looks GREAT !!
Glad you like it!
Outstanding April. The zebra wood was a great choice. And the Total Boat finish should last a forever or two. Your people will really enjoy using that table And using a door for starters sure saved some time and expense. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Perfect
Considering it started life as a cheap door it sure turned into a cracking break room table. You gave me a chuckle at the end when you said Click here for plan's etc, April it don't know if you're aware but each box at the end is totally empty just completely blank spaces!!! As always April 💯%... 👍 🇬🇧.
Yes, I removed them but no worries, they will be replaced tomorrow. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful
April - Great looking table. Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you and your family & crew.

Another great finished product April!

Great job April, that’s awesome work. Thanks for sharing with us, Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome build April!
Glad you like it!
Thank you for the idea I thought about using a door anyways for a table but now I’ve even got more idea of how I could even make a worktable using a door for my woodshop and possibly make a table for the living room for my wife
Great ideas! Thanks for watching.
Such a great video! It makes us want to rip a few of these doors off around the office and make a couple of these. Also, great idea about doing bamboo next - We might know someone who could provide that...
Looks great!!
"WOW" no more needs saying 👍👍👍👍👍👍
excellent job as usual, nice to see you again
Good work
Neat! Camps picnic table is what's left of a door. Need to get back up there and follow through with the concrete counter top design I've planned. I also have some marble & granite tiles I'm planning to use for the top. Looks like the bone conducting headphones I've had for a few years.
Sounds great! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful job April and keep up the good work cutie.
Nice, that big dust collector cube behind you looked interesting, tell us about it and the overall dust system you have in your little million dollar shed over there 😉
Thanks
That's a nice table excellent job as always. Good luck.
Excellent! That table looks great!
Thank you!
Very Creative April! I would not have thought of using a door to make a table. I love the shiny table top! 👍😃
Thanks! I love the look too. Thanks for watching.
@@AprilWilkerson I need to try some Total Boat Products. Fantastic Results!
Looks great April, awesome work! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks so much!
Fantastic
love this!
Fabulous job April. That door table is amazing. Love the zebra wood and the veneer and that epoxy just really sealed the deal - pun intended. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it.
Great work! Tetszik amit csinálsz, grat!👍
Would highly reccomend doing something with banboo, we have just installed a new kitchen and went with bamboo worktops, looks absolutely amazing.
How was the cost? I've never looked into doing any kind of top with bamboo, but I've always liked the look of it!
@@BoomerKeith1 It worked out roughly the same price as solid wood oak worktop
@@escy69 Thanks for the input. You've inspired me to do some bamboo tops!
April,
What about a Bamboo Table build for the OUTDOOR DECK?
Love your stuff,
Jim
Nice table,
I so much enjoy your videos, thanks
Cool and beautiful.
Glad you think so!
Very beautiful table looks awesome!!! ✌️
Thanks so much!
Very nice!
Another great video Ms April
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome idea for my next outdoor table....under cover
Fantastic Idea.
Thank you! I'm glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching.
This is how me and my dad built tables xD. My dad even made bed bunks and a sofa out of hollow doors he got for free on one of his jobs.
Great vid. Table top epoxy and quality veneer .... I'm Inspired!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for all the links, I am building a kitchen table with a solid core door, and an N scale model railroad layout with a hollow core door, I learned a thing or two and the links will help also, thanks. How many quarts did you use on your project
Great idea and an awesome looking table
I'm glad you like it
Skil luar biasa dengan hasil yang sangat cantik.
Semoga harimu slalu menyenangkan.
Salam kenal?👍
Beautiful Table April and Wow on the Total Boat top coat! :)
Thanks so much! Yes, Total Boat for the win! It looks stunning.
I thought about doing this for a few years but making it a folding table. I haven't but I thought about it. :)
Thank April, can you share where you got the table's legs?
I like using solid core doors, esp ones that are damaged on one side, for work bench tops. My dad used a bunch of vandalized ones to build an L-shaped desk, drafting table, and some other office furniture when I was growing up. That thing was indestructible and I never wanted to help move it.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing the memories.
Lovely vídeo
Not sure if you're aware April but the end screens were blank.....just white squares and a circle.
Yes, I removed them. They will be replaced tomorrow. Thanks for watching.
Lovely
Great job, big difference between the two tables!
Your work always amazes me!! 🙂💪🏼
Thank you for sharing!! 👍🏼😊
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
