Glad you checked it out and found it interesting. So the drums are acoustic but he also performs with a pad to the left of the kit. Drummer is really good, like some of the other songs on the record showcase it a bit better. Chose this one because that first glitchy transition goes into a section that sounds like it’s off some Pink Floyd record. This album specifically is gonna be much more your style, the further back you go the closer it gets to 2000s dance pop, until you get to pre Magdalena bay when they were tabula rasa and that’s just straight prog rock. Can’t say for certain if it would bring your channel some views but there’s been a lot of hype around this album. Like I think it’s user vote on some review sites averaged out to the #1 album this year. If you’re trying to check out more I’d recommend the entire album to experience the song transitions. If you want something that is a bit darker cry for me is insanely good. Something more rock oriented I’d check out tunnel vision. Really can’t stress enough how great the entire thing is though, whether it’s your thing or not. The layering and production is so tasteful done too. Glad you checked it out.
I should have read your comment before I commented, but I was excited to see this happening and eager to boost it. There's a bit of overlap in our comments. Great minds think alike. Thanks for getting this rolling !
@@pooliette lol except I butchered their original band name. I’d love for a full reaction of this record despite going through other channel’s reactions already.
@@ghost_tickler1575 Yeah, I've watched quite a few reacts, but here's hoping we get the full album. It did take me a few revisits to get fully on board with Imaginal Disk, but now I'm hooked
@@poolietteI’ve been obsessed with them more than anything else the past 3-4 years so I immediately loved it, but it still managed to get better over subsequent listens. I basically can’t stop listening to it lol
You should definitely check out Death & Romance. It's one of my favorite songs of the year. It has a bit more of a psychedelic spin on it, incredible track.
After watching all your Gizz reactions, when I saw you were doing this, I couldn't get in here fast enough. You should definitely check out the whole album. As mentioned, they started out as a prog rock band called Tabula Rasa and while they are now essentially a duo (Matt & Mica), they brought their original drummer (Nick Villa) along for the journey, who plays live drums on most of Imaginal Disk and at their live gigs. The album works better as a whole due to the concept, dynamic changes and transitions, but you should check out Death & Romance and Tunnel Vision for starters.
Big fan of King Gizzard and I love this album. Probably not the best introduction track but still a good one. The opening 5 tracks are amazing and flow so well together.
seriously the best pop album ever
Legitimately agree with this take.
It's like Violator but more interesting and less dark.
Album of the year

Definitely one of the best albums of the year. The prog was well put in every song
Fantastic album. Not all songs are proggy but the progressive parts are well executed.
I love Magdalena Bay. They have tons of great songs. Killshot is good but a different vibe.
