That's a good point for sure. I would put Hit up there too.
That's why Vegeta was so intriguing too in Z, and now you can add Hit to that group too. Neutral characters always have the most character development making them more likeable.

I wanted vegeta to win the tournament but couldn't get my wish, I wanted vegeta to wish his planet back but again it didn't happen. Instead Goku reached a new level, stole the spotlight once again, and beerus wished for his brother to get planet earth! I wanted a good tournament but they didn't even let buu fight, piccolo got cheated, frost cheated, cabba was weak, monaka was weak, hit used cheat codes.. Wtf

Will you Vegeta fanboys ever be pleased?
He beat 3 out of 5 characters at this tournament and all of them were Vegeta fanservice all over the place. He one shotted Universe 6 Frieza, beat Maghetta with a fucking epic Final Flash and became the mentor of a fellow Saiyan from Universe 6. Then he lost to Hit because he didn't know anything about his hidden technique. If Goku had to go first, Vegeta probably would have beaten Hit as well. Also Vegeta beating 4 characters out of 5 at at a tournament would be pretty onesided too, don't you think. People complain about Goku getting all the spot light but want the exact same thing for Vegeta, cut it with the double standards. This show isn't all about Vegeta, he isn't even the main character but still got tons of spotlight.
Why should he wish back Planet Vegeta? He didn't even care back in the Saiyan and Frieza Saga when he was still evil and a "true and pure" Saiyan. Why should he care now after he all the developement he got in DBZ and DBS? He is over it, accepted earth as his home and Bulma and Trunks as his family and now he has Kabe and the other Saiyans from planet Salad as a future goal. Also he doesn't speak god language and Beerus definitely wouldn't let him make such a wish. Planet Vegeta is history and will stay history, get over it like Vegeta himself did.
Goku is the main character, he always will get the spotlight that's just how things work, get over it.
Beerus wishing back earth for Champa was great character developement.
The tournament was great. Tons of new characters with speical abilities and a lot of character developement and interaction. It wasn't just all about who's powerlevel is over 9000 but the epic moments were still there.
Piccolo hat the chance to go back in but he had to step down for Vegeta. Piccolo fanboys have all rights to complain, much more than Vegeta fanboys.
Cabba hold his own against a base Vegeta with god powers and later against a SSJ with god powers as a SSJ. He only lost because Vegeta has SSJ Blue. He is stronger than Frieza, Cell and Buu.
Monaka tanked a hit from Goku to the face head on and didn't move an inch. He may be a joke character and not as strong as Beerus made him but he certainly isn't weak. Remeber what a surpressed punch from Goku did to Krillin?
Hit uses his natural ability in a smart way and his favour, has nothing do with cheating. He even couldn't go all out due to the "no killing" rule.
DBS is far from being perfect, but how some people desperately try to find every little flaw is just pathetic. Also I don't see what Vegeta fans have to complain about. Piccolo fans can complain, Gohan fans, Trunks and Goten fans, Buu fans or fans of the humans, but Vegeta fans, not really. Vegeta got tons of spotlight and character developement in this arc. Also he isn't the main character, he never was and never will be and it still could have been way worse *couth* Buu Saga, Movies, GT *couth*.

I'm a fan of Vegeta myself, but I really don't see what there is to complain about. I would even argue that Vegeta got as much or even more spotlight than Goku in DBS so far. He did better against Beerus than SSJ3 Goku while protecting his family. Whis allowed him to train on Beerus planet much earlier and easier than Goku. He mastered God Ki and became a SSJ Blue on his own entirely. He killed Ginyu and kicked Friezas ass. And now he got to beat 3 opponents in the tournament and lost against a 4th who is very powerful and has an op ability he had now clue about which isn't a shame. Meanwhile Goku lost to Beerus twice. Yeah the second fight as SSJ God was epic and much more even but he still lost in the end. He didn't reach God Ki on his own. He really had to beg Whis to let him train on Beerus planet and when he arrived Vegeta was already way ahead. He got his ass kicked by Frieza and shot by a laser gun from a minion. Yeah he did beat Frieza in the end but also just thanks to Whis giving him a second chance. In the tournament he just was allowed to beat Botamo and was then beaten by that cheating bitch Frost. He did put up a good fight against Hit and pulled a new op move with his SSJ Blue Kaioken x10 but still lost in the end. So all in all the only fight Goku really won on his own so far in DBS was Botamo, in all other cases he either had help or lost. Meanwhile Vegeta has 4 wins (Ginyu, Frost, Magetta, Kabe) and could have killed Frizea if he didn't fool around and los only to Beerus (who Goku lost twice too) and Hit (who Goku lost to as well). Not bad statistics for Vegeta.
Remeber the end of the Buu Saga when Vegeta was only Nr.4 after Mystic Gohan, SSJ3 Gotenks and SSJ3 Goku and couldn't do anything against Buu to the point where he was nearly redudant? Now he is second to only Goku and that also just because Goku knows Kaioken and is a smartass. Looking at how bad movies and GT treat him, Super really did a lot of things in his favour. Like I said I can understand nearly any fan besides Goku and Vegeta to complain, but definitely not those two. This is still Dragonball and not Vegeta Ball and considering how Toriyama did want to let him stay dead after the Frieza saga originally he really did come a long way since then.
wonderful episode, I was glued to my phone the whole time. I am starting to think super will rival even the best dragon Ball episodes. if they keep this momentum going, we are going to see much more movies for sure. A goku vs Hit movie would be awesome!
great review. Definitely one of the best by far, not action wise but character show casing. It was great to establish that no one is above all. I like how they didnt showcase any og Zen-O's power, leaving it a mystery. Beerus the man, a true brother. I love how everyone is afraid of Beerus, but Monaka is chill around him. I would love to see Monaka get more story, like he can actually learn at freezas pace but just doesnt. That be awesome.

Excellent review as always Big D. After watching this episode a few questions/observations come to mind:
1. Where is Zarama ? Will he be introduced later on in the series ?
2. Do the Super Dragonball need a 1year period to regenerate like the Earth and Namek Dragon Balls ?
3. How is it that Kibito was able to recognize Zeno and not Supreme Kai/Kaioshin ? Is he actually older than Kaioshin ?
4. Who was originally responsible for the destruction of Planet Earth in Universe 6? Will Champa and Vados intervene to prevent it from happening again ?
5. What will Champa's favor be to repay Beerus for restoring Universe 6's Earth ?
6. Whis and Vados were the only ones not trembling in fear and kneeling when Zeno appeared ? What is their position on the God hierarchy ? Are they extensions of Zeno himself ?

+True Dovahkiin I would love to see Piccolo, Gohan, and Tien get to a godly level. For me, the best time in DB was when all the Z Fighter were around each other's levels. I would just love to see the Z Fighters fight again but it's looking like if it's a 5 man team again for the tournament it'll probably be the same except Monaka will most likely be replaced by Gohan. I'm fine with this as long as I get to see my favorite Piccolo fight and get stronger.
I loved this episode. My two favorite parts that weren't foreshadowing was the scene with beerus making his wish, which by the way made me have the feels, and when whis and vados were talking to the omni-king. I just thought it was so funny how they were complaining about their gods, especially when vados was crying over how bad champa is. The thing I found most interesting though was how whis and vados were not scared or startled over the omni-king and were able to talk to him very casually.
I loved this episode. I find it easier to like Beerus now as a character. And I'm excited for where the series could go from here, planet Salad, seeing more of Hit, maybe even seeing how Universe 6's Earth ends up the next time we see it, and even this whole deal with Monaka, who seems a lot more confident now for some reason.
AND THE CHARACTERS FROM THE OTHER 10 UNIVERSES, I'M EXCITED TO SEE THAT! REALLY EXCITED TO SEE THAT!
I'm gonna go off on a limb but my prediction is that goku will win the next tournament

Ya maybe. Goku rarely wins the tournaments he fights in though, actually. He's only won one, and there have been 6 tournaments (not counting tournaments from between sagas).
Roshi beat Goku in his first.
Tien won the second.
*Goku won the third against Piccolo.
Gohan beat Cell in the Cell games.
Goku didn't fight in the tournament where 18 threw the fight to Satan.
Goku didn't win this tournament either.
Think about that next time someone complains about 'Goku-time'.

I have to mention that I freaking love Zeno's guard. Also love the idea of us seeing the other Universes (hope their kais and lords of destruction), though I am not a big fan of the idea of getting another tournament.
As for Beerus, after Hit getting my full respect in the last episode, in this one, he got my respect. Really loved it.
A crazy theory. I think for the next week everyone is hiding to Goku the fact that Monaka's not strong, and the Monaka that he faces is someone pretending (shapeshifting?) to be him. Buu perhaps?
Love that we are on such a winning streak with DBS. Finally the series is truly delivering emotion, excitement and personality. I thought that maybe the dragon wouldn't be so big (like Zeno and Toriyama's logic with powerful characters) but when it comes to dragons, Akira doesn't fuck around.

Zeno superman may beat goku but he has never destroyed 12 universes the only 2 I think of is superman prime one million and cosmic armor since they get the enemies power plus their own

+Animemaster 091 It depends, there are a lot of versions of superman out there, Goku beats the most, probably like a 99%, then there is cosmic armor and pre crisis who would obviosly obliterate Goku, about this zeno guy i have no idea since we haven't seen his true power yet.

The wish just really shook me up, so unexpected and nice
The dragon was massive!!! he outstretched through all the universes that was insane! The plot twist though with Beerus wishing universe 6's earth back to normal! Those two have some tough love Champa didn't even seem grateful but Beerus cared enough for his brother to wish for Universe 6's earth to be returned to its normal state. Man those two are quite something! I wonder what's going to be the difference between Universe 6's earth and 7's tho.

The Earth from Champa´s universe is the one Future Trunks lives on. That´s why we haven´t heard from him since he went back. The Earth was destroyed when Trunks encountered Majin Buu. BAM.

Man the way how champa reacted to beerus restoring universe 6 earth got me really emotional lol, the character development is real
The episode is just fantastic and emotional. I just love how Beerus revived Universe 6's planet Earth back to normal for his brother Champa. Also I was incredibly surprise how big Zarama the Dragon God was. It massively huge.

Wow, a tournament featuring all 12 universes?! I'm in on that happening in the future as along as Super continues to be popular and successful. Seeing Beerus and Champa fear Zen-O is something to behold of since they're feared by everybody except for their respective attendants. Zarama was absolutely breathtaking to see being summoned, how he looks and his size. Beerus wishing for the restoration of Universe 6's Earth is very heartwarming as it further showed the goodness in Beerus' heart despite being a God of Destruction and that he really does love his brother Champa deep down. Furthermore, him giving Monaka gold is more points to him being a nice guy. I'm already a fan of Beerus ever since his introduction in BOG and this episode is making me like him even more! Man, I can't wait to see more of Super! It instantly got much better when it moved past retelling the canonical movies.
Zeno can wipe out all 12 universes in a blink of an eye. Welp, we might've just found our last major opponent of the series.

That Super Shamron sequence was on some Gurren Lagan shut. I was like wow. This Dragon was eating planets the size of Jupiter.
My prediction is that in the new revived earth, is where the episode, The Amazing Copy Vegeta title will come into play. Even though planet Salad still exists in that universe it just makes more sense that he will be on universe 6's earth
