The HOA story reminds me of a new neighborhood that was erected. Right across a long standing outdoor shooting range outside the city limits. The HOA tried to shut down that business, but they can't do anything. The sheriff's office laughed with the firing range owner.

Your story reminds me of a similar story of my mom’s dog sitter. She’s had her business for over two decades when a developer built a development near her farm. They started complaining about the barking dogs and called the local animal shelter, claiming abuse and neglect because dogs were barking. Shelter shows up at her place to inspect and were so blown away by her facilities and how well run and clean it was, they offered her a contract to lodge their spillover if they ran out of space during peak seasons. So complaining new neighbours got MORE barking dogs 😂.
Don’t move next to an existing business that has a certain level of noise and then complain about it.

@@AuskaDezjArdamaathMy aunt used to have a truck company hauling farm things, grain, lime, gravel, etc. She owned four or five houses on one side of our town with her own home in the middle, so everybody who rented there was good with the trucks moving around behind them getting fuel. Along came a new subdivision right across the street/entrance to my aunt's complex, and in a short time they complained about the dust the trucks made. Also my aunt's corner was the dumping ground for any number of cats that she would care for, so they would wander around, as cats do, and the new neighbors complained about the cats. The court compromised, saying my aunt's trucks were there first and grandfathered in to the town, but she was required to build a ten foot high fence along the neighbors' side of the street to try to keep down the dust. The cats stayed until old age thinned them out, and the trucks were sold off when my aunt died, but the stupid fence is still there.

Second Story - I got laid off by a company and they shorted me on my separation pay, so I went to the board of labour to file a case. Soon after that I received an email from the CFO, asking that I withdraw the case, and remember how well the company had treated me. I reminded him that I could also be going back 5 years to request all of the unpaid overtime that I'd worked, but was being good to them ;)

First story is something can relate to .
Used to work in a hobby shp in high school.Sold R/C cars there .The ones you build ,repair ,upgrade, usually starting at 300 bucks with an R/C controller.
Had a customer bring in a R/C tank from Radio Shack. The tracks were so worn ,he couldn't drive it. The rubber was extremely thin and worn and needed to be replaced .Unfortunately ,no one I know of makes replacement tracks for this vehicle....anywhere .This was long before the internet BTW. The Radio Shack R/C toys tended to look good ,until it broke . Almost Inpossible to fix and I had never heard of the Shack repairing any of them. And no ,they didn't sell replacement track sets.
I told him this and goshdarn ,her grandson spent money on it here and she wants it fixed. I calmly explained that her grandson's tank was not designed to be fixed and the tracks were only available if she bought another one. It was a toy ,not an R/Cmodel. (What did she expect for 65.00 bucks ?) I calmly told her that R/C model tanks were available, starting at about 400 bucks . Those are pricey ,but can be fixed ,parts and tracks were available ,so they tended to last longer. This went on for about 1/2 an hour . Not our product ,can't be fixed, eventually, Louise ,(my boss) came by to help close up the shop ( her business ,so she could if she wanted. Nice lady) and repeated the same speech, word for word. Pretty sure she would've had the same results at the Shack,as it was likely beyond warranty.
She eventually left ,but left the toy behind. After a year ,we gave it to a local school for their electronics course. Grandma had never been seen before ,and she wasn't seen again

The last story, your analogy of a cop arresting someone in their driveway because they might speed, hell, I wouldn't be surprised if a cop actually tried to pull that sort of thing. From the videos I've seen of cops seeming to pull a random charge out of their ass just because someone sneezed in their general direction... Of course the cops mother was likely a hamster and their father smelled of elderberries.

While I agree in principle about property rights. I have to call BS on this story there is no Firearm I know of that is not going to travel way and I mean way past this guy's property lines. 2 1/2 acres is not a large area where gunpowder weapons are concerned. That Cop would know this. If the cop did not then Barney Fife is no longer the Dumbest Cop in history.
I should have listened till the end not even Barney Fife is going to let someone Shoot a .50 BMG on that small a range.
The round of a "50 Cal" can travel for miles and is accurate to 1000 meters.
This round is the round for the Barret .50 Cal anti equipment rifle, that has confirmed kills at well over that distance as does the .50BMG in single shot mode.
The round will pass thru a Cars engine block and with it's Armour Piercing round most armored vehicles in the world the main exception being Main Battle Tanks, the APCs of the Soviets and US of the 60s,and 70s would not stop this round.
Using it on a 2 1/2 acre property puts everyone within a 2 mile (min) range not just in danger but Mortal Danger.
This story is so full of BS I would need stilts as well as my hip waders to stay clean.
In this case ,were there anyway in hell the story was true, the HOA had every right to complain as OP was a menace to the public.
Property rights be damned when someone this stupid should not be allowed out of the institute except in a Straight Jacket.
Sorry for the wall of text however to many people are un educated about Firearms and what they can and cannot do.
One last BMG stands for Browning Machine Gun they came in .30 and .50 caliber or 3 tenths of an inch or one half of an inch in diameter.

@@GhostRider-sc9vu I call BS on your BS. If you have a shooting range you have a backstop and generally shoot toward a sloped area so as the bullet travels it impacts the ground. Found this a while back, as follows: Luke AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being surrounded by civilization that complains about the noise from the base and its planes, forgetting that it was there long before they were... A certain lieutenant colonel at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back. Apparently, an individual who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the local paper complaining about a group of F-16s that disturbed his/her day at the mall.
When that individual read the response from a Luke AFB officer, it must have stung quite a bit.
      The complaint:
'Question of the day for Luke Air Force Base:
Whom do we thank for the morning air show? Last Wednesday, at precisely 9:11 A.M, a tight formation of four F-16 jets made a low pass over Arrowhead Mall, continuing west over Bell Road at approximately 500 feet. Imagine our good fortune! Do the Tom Cruise-wannabes feel we need this wake-up call, or were they trying to impress the cashiers at Mervyn's early bird special?
      Any response would be appreciated.
      The response:
Regarding 'A wake-up call from Luke's jets' On June 15, at precisely 9:12 a.m. , a perfectly timed four-ship fly by of F-16s from the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base flew over the grave of Capt. Jeremy Fresques. Capt. Fresques was an Air Force officer who was previously stationed at Luke Air Force Base and was killed in Iraq on May 30, Memorial Day.
At 9 a.m. on June 15, his family and friends gathered at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City to mourn the loss of a husband, son and friend. Based on the letter writer's recount of the fly by, and because of the jet noise, I'm sure you didn't hear the 21-gun salute, the playing of taps, or my words to the widow and parents of Capt. Fresques as I gave them their son's flag on behalf of the President of the United States and all those veterans and servicemen and women who understand the sacrifices they have endured..
A four-ship fly by is a display of respect the Air Force gives to those who give their lives in defense of freedom. We are professional aviators and take our jobs seriously, and on June 15 what the letter writer witnessed was four officers lining up to pay their ultimate respects.
The letter writer asks, 'Whom do we thank for the morning air show'? The 56th Fighter Wing will make the call for you, and forward your thanks to the widow and parents of Capt Fresques, and thank them for you, for it was in their honor that my pilots flew the most honorable formation of their lives.
Only 2 defining forces have ever offered to die for you....Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Things were kept for three months, then sold off go different charities. A three piece suit was recovered, it had recently been dry-cleaned for about £17:50 (1989 UK prices), but had consequentially been left on a train so came back to us. The owner was contacted, but was not only angry at having his time wasted, but wouldn't pay the £3:50 postage covering costs to send it back to him (over 150 miles away), and ranted to "DONATE IT TO CHARITY, I'M NOT PAYING THAT!!" "Fun" Fact: In Germany there's a per household broadcasting-fee, used to finance national broadcasting, which has to be paid by every household. Even though you don't use any of it or even haven't got ANY means to use it, you still have to pay, because you could or might use it.
And even if it sounds like a tax, it officially isn't. The fee should secure ensure that there's always some form of broadcasting for news and educational purposes, but like 90+% of the money is used for non-essential stuff. They even just raised the price because 8 billion € weren't enough...

Australia abolished all radio and TV licenses for consumers many years ago, and most people ignored the law and had them without a license for many years before that. There were just too many people breaking the law for the very few radio inspectors to handle. The government recovered what little money they lost from abolishing the law by just slightly increasing the licensing fee for commercial broadcasters.

I grew up on a small farm, mostly cattle, and hay. Once a year before deer hunting season Dad and I would set up two targets, one at 200 yards, the other at 500 yards. Then we'd each burn up a box of twenty rounds each, just to insure our aim as true. One year a newer neighbor apparently called the local sheriffs office to complain, they called us, and Dad invited them come over, and practice on my new pistol range. For the next ten years my pistol range became the police range, and that neighbor decided to STFU. Seriously, they bought a house in the sticks, the smell of cow, pig, and horse dung is the least of it. Hunting seasons, duck, pheasant, small game, and of course deer, it gets a might noisy.

So it isn't so much shooting off on your land as it's shooting 20 yards from your neighbors house. Did the owner construct a backstop and sound walls? Yes, what you're doing is legal, but so is drinking a gallon of horse semen.

Perhaps more people would watch your videos if your title memes were not so often replete with grammatical errors requiring a reread to try to figure out what you were attempting to convey.
