I sat and watched this classic with my 6 year old son last night after not watching it for about 30 years. I remember the feeling I had after watching this and the other classic movies from the 80s....IT'S SO UPLIFTING AND MOTIVATING!!! asked my son to go upstairs after the movie to brush his teeth and go to bed....I walked in to his room 5 min later and my son of course was throwing round kicks left right and centre......he looked at me thinking I was going to scold him....I simply walked out and smiled.....Mission Accomplished.

Very inspirational song! When I was 16, I was weak, I didn't believe in myself and was too afraid to fight back bullies. Then I watched this movie and loved this motivational song. I dreamed of becoming a martial artist. Finally I started doing martial arts - the best decision of my life! It changed everything: I became more confident, aquired fighting skills and was in the best shape of my life. I definitely went the way Jason had to go through: From weakling to respected martial artists. I'm now the version of myself I dreamed of when I was young!

This is one of the most inspiring films that I’ve ever watched. I do Taekwondo myself and the message behind ‘no retreat, no surrender’ really sticks to me. It tells me to never give up, fight for something that I genuinely want to achieve and that you should fight when only absolutely necessary. Van Damme is my number 1 martial arts idol. He seems like an absolute awesome, chill dude. I hope that I’m making you proud Jean Claude. NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER!

There's so many of these films. Name a sport, the 80's had a film about an underdog kid montag'ing himself into a hero..and likely getting the girl in the process! But yeah, it worked basically every time...because the 80's filmmakers knew how to get the right balance. 80's films kept it like and entertaining above everything else.

I love Judo. I trained for a year with some of the nicest people I've ever came across in my life. Especially Sensei. I decided to take a leave of absence so that I can focus on becoming an X-ray Tech. It was hard to say goodbye to them, but I know that one day I'll be back to do Judo and become a black belt one day. I promised myself and no matter how hard it is coming back, I will never give up! Dattebayo! I left the dojo with an Orange belt

I loved this movie when I was a teenager (around the time it came out on video), even though it was considered to be a B-grade movie. I thought that it was very well made for a B-grade film, even now as an adult I still enjoy watching it! Great movie!!

I loved this movie when I was a teenager (around the time it came out on video), even though it was considered to be a B-grade movie. I thought that it was very well made for a B-grade film, even now as an adult I still enjoy watching it!
