    For those that don't like the commitment of sewing the edges together, you could do a buttonhole edge & place 4 buttons or toggles on the other side. This keeps it open for a quick over the shoulders (dash to mailbox)or a fixed one when you don't want to constantly be readjusting a shawl (like shopping)

    OMG! Genius! I now have to go in my storage room, find the box of shawls that I love too much to give away, but get frustrated trying to wear them - especially in stadiums and restaurants - they slip off and end up with the ends on the floor or the shawl under the bleachers and me cold and frustrated. This is such a simple solution. THANK YOU!

    What a great idea - it’s absolutely-feckin’ 💡🤩. I love shawls but have stopped knitting them because - well, as you know they are a pain 😱. I watched part one and didn’t comment because I found this part 2. Much like your pattern mapping video, the prep work, for me, is daunting because - ?lazy, ?just want to knit? Really, I don’t know. Perhaps it’s just learning a new concept. It is brilliant though. I’m glad you have 7k+ subscribers, you definitely deserve them. Love your personality, I bet you’re a great person to hang with. Keep the videos coming 👍👍🤩. If I find a shawl I want to convert I’ll definitely reach out for help. PS: the fashion show was 👍👍. PPS: time to knit puppy his cashmere bed, or at least a soft blankie so he feels the love 😂

    You're new wrapover/poncho looks great! If the inside seam did bother anyone, it could always be finished of with some ribbon sewn over it like some people do when they steek a cardigan to hide those front band seams.

    I‘ve always preferred wraps and ponchos over sweaters! I just started to learn knitting and crochet and love your channel. Please forgive a “dumb” question: did you attach the bands by picking up stitches along the long edge (length) of the wrap? If using circular needles, what length of cable did you use? You’re a wonderful teacher and new subscriber here!
    😊❤️

    • @Knicoleknits
      @Knicoleknits  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks for subscribing! Yes, I pick up the stitches along the long edge for the bands. Since the piece is about 60” long, I use the longest cord I can find, which is usually 36” or 40” 😊

    I am currently knitting Stephen West's 'Brioche Soundwaves'. It is a rectangular scarf and I am thinking about knitting together as a wrap around. It is about 18 inches wide and currently 28 inches long. I will just keep knitting and trying on as I get closer to the finished length.

    I am going to attempt the Prismarine scarf and use your te unique to make your wrapper. Wondering if I should make the diagonal section, or make it a simple rectangle?

    • @Knicoleknits
      @Knicoleknits  2 месяца назад +1

      If you do it as a diagonal, the fabric will be on the bias. I haven’t done one like that yet, so I’m not sure how it would hang or drape. My guess is it would work okay, but I can’t guarantee that 😊 Sorry this isn’t more helpful! 😋

      I think I'll use some of my stash, and try it BEFORE I try it with my "good" yarn! Lol. I bought 4 skeins from Arcane Fiber Works, they are in Canada. I love their colorways, all available in 4 yarn weights, all $25 a hank (US), and all superwash merino!

  • @JuditSogan

    You have missed your vocation Ms Supermodel 😊
    I'm a shawl-wearer and knitter. I like triangular shawls as wrapping them is good for my "giraffe" neck that gets cold. I did struggle with Nightshift as it is such a deep triangle so I too gave it away. And I always avoid semi-circular/circle shawls. I look like an Eastern European peasant woman. No criticism as it's my roots, but still...
    Like the idea of your wrap over but do you not find your arms restricted?

    • @Knicoleknits
      @Knicoleknits  2 дня назад

      Ha ha! More like Mediocremodel 😋 No arm restriction at all - it will bunch up a bit when arms are raised, but usually drops back down into place easily (unless I'm wearing something "grabby" underneath 😃
