Incredible. That's the best Warhammer 40k model I've ever seen. You truly made the Emperor proud!
It's really good but in the 36 years I've played the game I have seen some truly mind blowing miniatures and vehicles.
The top for me was a 5 ft/ 1.5 meter scratch built Warlord Titan. The brass cascading out of the gatling blaster was spent 7.62NATO rifle cartridges on clear monofilament line.
The power fist held a limp chaos warhound titan by it's head.
Now it's super hard to find pics of it on the web since this was something like 20 years ago on the Dakkadakka forums.

honestly this lacks details. it's only good far away. people make incredibly detailed stuff.
Not the best I've seen by a long shot.... but it's clearly the most expensive Land Raider Redeemer I've seen
I actually love how"scratchy" the gold leaf texture is, it makes you really think the outer layer was actually furbished in real gold alloy.
In fairness, it is. Probably thicker than reality also if you consider the thickness of the leaf vs the size of the model in scale
according to the lore Custodes gear is made from a material called auramite, which is naturally gold through and through. (nerd emoji)
Sometimes words cannot do justice to what is a masterpiece created by a true craftsman. Stunned silence was my reaction to this build. Incredible.

Armour and weapons in Warcraft look a lot as if designed by the same guy that does the interior for Trump Hotels…..
Lovely build!! Quick warning just in case you weren’t aware or for others looking to use LiPo batteries; LiPo batteries can swell over time even when not in use. If the battery is left inside the model over the long term it may at best physically damage the model, or worse it may puncture and cause a fire. I think it would be worth removing the LiPo when you aren’t planning on looking at the lights, or perhaps swap it for a different battery with a chemistry that’s more suited to longer life in a confined space.

Hot damn, this model went from a 3 to a 10 real fast. PLASMO got that touch man. At this point, i'm firmly convinced that even if we'd throw the most garbage of kits out there at him, he'd still make a 10/10 out of it.

@@bugler75 there have always been alternatives. Even ones with better quality sculpts but GW is inevitably always top dog for a reason, its the setting that the game is in that sells. Not the rules.

It’s the wide range with the background story , all the books etc. Plus the stores too. I don’t play GW anymore but their paint, brushes etc are good and convenient. Each time I go there is a great atmosphere and very welcoming when I stop to watch a game. Like you say , it’s not particularly the game but everything else that surrounds GW.
Fair play to them, they’ve kept the brand going all these years. Too expensive though! 😂

This is a Land Raider right out of 3rd Edition lore, I think it has so much spirit of John Blanches‘ art… it is truly what WH40K is all about.
As someone who's not really into warhammer, this makes almost no sense, but is absolutely awesome. To be fair though, from what little I know of 40k, that's kinda the point

@@kalzhae I’d say it counts, people that want their tables to be 100% lore accurate paint make it so boring IMO. Like warhammer is mainly about creativity with painting and scratch building, and then you get a host that will kick you off the table because “the paint isn’t correct”.
@@kalzhae Wrong. The nice thing about tabletop in general, including 40k, is that whatever you agree on as valid is valid. It's your model, it's your army, and nobody gets to tell you how to paint it.
Imagine showing up to your local warhammer shop for a quick game with this in your mini case xD, this thing would grab the atention of every warhammer fan in a 5 mile radius for sure, Stunning stuff there my man. Just Beautiful.

When the Land Raider was revealed I stopped what I was doing and made the sign of the Aquila. This piece is the most inspiring and remarkable thing I've seen! The Emperor protects.
I know the wonderful looted tank is a long dead option for ork players... but as an old Ork, id lived to have seen you convert this to a looted land raider or kitbashed Battlewagon. Still, it was lovely to see you do a warhammer model

From golden light they come! You've outdone yourself yet again - truly remarkable what you've done with this venerable old kit - from the electronics, adding the epoxy clear lenses, to the gold treatment. Spectacular, I absolutely adore it!
Real gold leaves! 24 carats! That's mind blowing! Sound likes you're saying "Today I will create a 1/72 scale Tchernobyl diorama. For the radioactive part I will use real Uranium 238, and for the blue glowing parts, instead of LED I will use Plutonium 239. Please ignore the heavy knocking in the background."
Did this dude, not only add an entire electronic setup to this build? But also cover most of it with F***ING Gold Leaf? I mean there's going a step beyond, but he went a full hop, skip and jump past that! First time watching him but I'm impressed... WOW!
I wasn't quite expecting the gold leaf, but what a fantastic result! I probably shan't do this on my next land raider, but it's lovely to see the possibilities!!!
I'm always gobsmacked by just how extra Plasmo is with his model building/greebling, but this is above and beyond the call of extra. Such a beautifully crafted model that Captain-General Henry Cavill would be proud to have in his armour fleet!

I honestly dont understand why the age is something thats a problem. It was excelent back then and is excelent now. As to the cost? who cares?. No one makes you spend that money. There are always options. Plasticard, knives and glue exist. EBay exists. Many other excelent games exist, throw money at other more deserving companies.

a true masterpiece! I dont even like Custodes and always found them too fancy looking in 40ks gritty world but this model makes me almost start an army myself
Ive been collecting and painting Warhammer for a few years now...this blows anything I've ever seen or painted myself out of the water, the sheer level of detail is insane like the LEDs and magnetizing i've seen done before but the fact you used ACTUAL GOLD LEAVES to coat it...i knew you were crazy but like damn, The Emperor smiles upon you friend
When doing heat tint I wouldn't use red. You might find reddish hues but true red would be such a narrow band of temperature there wouldn't be enough to really see. Straw yellow to brown would be the biggest band at 200°-270°c, through purple to blue at 290°c, over 300°c is a matte greenish grey to grey. Stainless shifts those numbers up by maybe 100°c.
When I saw the thumbnail I was expecting some sort of gold paint, the gold leaf caught me totally off guard. Really cool model, nice to see 40k models getting some in depth attention.

fun fact, I used gold leaves on frames before, and we painted the frames in a red-brown undercoat to give the gold a warmer tone. or at least that was what I was told :)

Truly amazing, really nice to see. I have plated around a little with gold leaf on miniatures myself.
If you want a smoother surface:
1) polish the plastic or use gloss varnish before applying the gold. The smoother the surface, the smoother the gold.
2) You can polish the gold with an agate stone very carefully, this is the traditional metod for getting a really polished look.
