Just discovered your channel. My last trip to Senegal I didn't get a SIM card and similar to you, realised how much I had become used to Google Maps and also to ride sharing. It was difficult/used more of my brain, but I was able to navigate by using the wifi before leaving to try and remember the route, and also asking people.
