- The first big firmware update for the Canvas Tuner is here! To update go to walrusaudio.io on a desktop computer using Chrome browser. You'll need a USB C cable to connect to your tuner as well.
Enjoy!
Firmware update 1.1.0 includes:
• Expanded user photo storage from 1 to 12 images for use on photo standby screen.
• Enlarged needle and graticule.
• Moved sharp indication closer to target note.
• Added several additional tuning presets.
• Improved needle indication of sharp and flat when using tuning presets.
• Added countdown gig timer.
• Added timer standby screen option.
• Added black standby screen option.
The design, functionality all about this pedal is amazing. I bought mine about a week ago and the photos are a great addition. Keep up the amazing work, I am looking at sticking with walrus
Thank you!
I love updates and improvements 🥰
I would love if you just added a simple loop function for one loop or something! Just want to solo over some riff I just came up with and I don't want to put a whole loop pedal on my board! make history happen! p.s love this tuner!
Could you add a simple noise gate? It should have all it needs for that because it can mute the output and can constantly monitor the input for always-on tuning. It won't be as good as a dedicated one with a loop that also reduces pedal noise, but might be good enough to suppress that single coil hum or unintentional string vibrations.
Does this tuner display flat notes, like E flat etc or does it only show corresponding notes as sharps?
Hello, I'm keeping an eye on that pedal.
I wonder if there are any plans to support gif files in the future and how good the buffers of this pedal
so, regardless of me wishing it, imagine me wanting to just play, or even gig, the tuner decides it needs a firmware update. I can't choose to do this at a later, actually convenient time. So, I try to update it. But it won't connect. So now I have an expensive paper weight.
Thats not how it works. The tuner doesn't have any way of auto-updating or forcing updates on you. The only way to update is if you physically connect it to your computer and tell it to update through walrusaudio.io.
I don't own the pedal, but I highly doubt it works like that. It would need a Wi-Fi connection to even know that it needs to be updated in the first place.
@@jamesmoses4066 errr, I do own one, and it did just that. WA acknowledged it. It's back to the distributor now.
The pedal won't connect. I've tried updating the app, logging off and on, but it doesn't work.

I don’t know what your specific problem is but as always:
- make sure you have the right version of the program for your machine
-make sure you download and follow the instructions in any manual to a T
-make sure your power supply is working well and fully connected etc.
make sure the cable you are using is good.
Can it be powered and run with usb c power or is a 9V power supply mandatory?
USB is for firmware updates only!
Can the standby be set to a clock instead of a timer?
Sorry, it can not. That would require a battery which involves all kinds of expensive certifications to be able to ship a product with a battery pre installed.
@@walrusaudioeffectswhat if it's a clock just while left plugged into power?
@@rainergeis ...then you'd need to re-set the time any time you unplug it. Considering guitar pedals are kind of designed to be things people move doesn't seem like a great use of development time.
@@brddork no it's absolutely necessary. Critical for my enjoyment of the guitar. 😤
Get a watch? Lol
