    If you find yourself here try to make your 4-1 TX16S working with the ExpressLRS you have to make sure it supports it internal :). If not you need to add an external module like the Ranger Micro TX Module f.e.

    This is confusing. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to have on my card. I got my TX16S already setup, and I could spend hours reading about all the different updates that make me nervous messing up something. Your video makes more sense to me than others that skip over some parts of the process.

      Truy Glad to help. i would say, you most likely do not need to update or make any changes until your ready and understand what to change. Also spend some time reading on EdgTX Get hub. Most of the info I share I get directly from there. I may be updating to 2.10.2 soon. I will try to share a vid on it when I do. Thanks so much for watching!

    I followed step by step, but no zip files appear. Clicked on files they’re empty. I was able to add themes, but now my radio won’t bind. Even if I do it though elrs configurator..

    Well I was able to assert the you meant that we copy the firmware file to the firmware folder on the radio. I followed all steps exactly and now my radio is stuck at the splash screen. Nice. I can't even turn it off

    DUDE!! You said to find the correct firmware file for the radio but didn't even say what to do with it.

    I am in the process of setting up my NEW Tx16s Radiomaster, and I came across a short video discussing the antenna *from another youtuber) Would you please clarify or confirm what configuration should the antenna be when flying? Straight up or to the side, Thank you and PS, since this radio is brand new is it necessary to update or upload anything at this time?

    • @AlToneRC
      @AlToneRC  2 месяца назад +1

      The antenna placement will depend. On the orientation of the antenna as it sits in the plane. Most cases it should be vertical because in most cases your antennas in the aircraft will be vertical to 45 degrees. Or if you have diversity antennas in the plane they should be horizontal and the other vertical or both 45 Degrees in opposite directions. It also depends on what type of flying you’re doing. Try to keep both antennas in the same orientation either way for the majority of your time in the air. ELRS is a great protocol so unless your going long distance it may not even matter. Hope this helps.

      @@AlToneRC I’m coming from flysky ia-6 radio ia-6b receivers. They worked great very simple no issues with range
      So I’m a little nervous now about the antenna with the tx16. Hopefully it won’t be an issue. I’m using 4-1

    • @AlToneRC
      @AlToneRC  2 месяца назад

      @@flyjets305 I understand. The info I provided is true also for the 4n1 and any receiver. That rule will be the same no matter what setup you are running. Place the antenna in the aircraft vertical and also place the antenna in your radio vertical. You can also set up the radio to provide you with signal strength information right on the screen and announce it. That is what I do even for ELRS. From there you can test your signal with the plane sitting on the ground with different antenna placement to see what works best. Radiometer is a great brand and I totally trust them with all of my planes.

    Question: Why did I have to download the companion application? We didn’t even use it. Also should mention the files already on the Sd card should be “preserved”, my attempt at following your instructions led to a “empty” boot screen I haven’t seen before. Ps, this is my first day out the box with it & with a bit of file management know how, I managed to get by.

      I said in the first minute of the video to back up your radio. Also I mentioned the download of the companion for future use. It will come in handy for future work on your radio. Sorry you had a bad experience. Thanks for watching.

    Is there anybody who provides file you can load to your radio for specific models set up. For example if I buy a X-fly Glaster I just down load the file to my radio and just bind and fly .

    • @AlToneRC
      @AlToneRC  Месяц назад

      Every now and them someone will make their model files available for drones and other aircraft, however most do not because there are specifics as to how they want their radio to function. I would say set up the plane on the bench and take time once to insure that it functions the way you would like. Use a basic plane with only Alierons, Elevator, throttle, and Rudder. Then when you purchase a new plane you can copy that model change the name and bind it with the new receiver, Then you only have to make small adjustments to the radio to make the plane fly well if any and add any functionality like flaps an retractable landing gear. Hope this helps.

      No I do not think that would work. it could brick your radio.

    Leaving aside the option to use touch controls, is EdgeTX really stable and better than OpenTX? I'm still looking for a valid reason to switch from something that works and I already have everything set up, debugged and full of models to something where it will be organized differently and maybe I'll encounter an error or I won't pair one of the receivers or a model that I like crashes he gave me enough work and money. Do you have a strong argument to leave OpenTX? Yes no updates coming out but do I need them?

    • @AlToneRC
      @AlToneRC  8 месяцев назад +3

      Well if it works for you.. stick with it.. but for beginners, i would suggest going with edge. I believe the layout is easier to follow and make changes too. I had OpenTX on my Jumper T18 and my. Jumper T12 but to help others who are just getting started I updated and really like it so I plan to stick with it. The only other thing would be that I do not see any radios still shipping new with Open TX. Also if your radio dies or if you have any real issues with it, you may have problems getting support. It does sound to me like you know enough to be able to handle whatever happens. Use what works for you. 👍

    Hola 👋.
    Hay actualmente muchas maneras de actualizar pero sin dudas siempre hay personas que encuentran la forma de arruinarlo 😂.
    Personalmente lo hago de la siguiente forma:
    1-Copia de seguridad del contenido de la micro-SD.
    2-Descargo la actualización en la computadora y la dejo lista para copiar.
    3-Retiro la micro-SD de la radio, la coloco en la computadora y copio la actualización en la carpeta llamada Firmware.
    4-Coloco la micro-SD de nuevo en el radio, enciendo en modo bootloader y selecciono el archivo.
    5-Con la actualización completa paso con el radio a revisar en el menú, el contenido de la micro-SD, para entrar en la carpeta firmware y seleccionar el archivo de la actualización para así actualizar también el bootloader.
    Listo... así está actualizada casi a prueba de tontos 😂.
    Notas:
    1-Solo se debe de copiar el contenido de la micro-SD si vienes de una versión diferente, ejemplo, si estás utilizando la 2.9.0 y vas a actualizar a la 2.9.4 no hay que copiar de nuevo el contenido de la micro-SD. Al contrario, si estás utilizando la 2.7.0 y vas a actualizar a la 2.8.4 si debes de hacer este paso.
    2-Por otra parte hay archivos de la micro-SD que se debe de copiar a la nueva actualización como es el caso de si ya tenías modelos de aviones creados pues si los quieres conservas debes de copiar estas carpetas y así se conserva toda la configuración de los aviones que ya tenías creado, aquí también se aplica a los audios y fotos que ya tenías como las de la pantalla de inicio.
    3-No es necesario tener todos archivos de actualizaciones pasadas en la carpeta firmware al igual que tú caso pues así tenemos menos espacio en la micro-SD y la radio se puede poner lenta.
    Saludos desde Cuba 🇨🇺.

      Muchas gracias amigo ¡Realmente aprecio tus pensamientos y sugerencias! ¡Estaba pensando que necesito determinar qué información se necesita en la tarjeta SD y cuál no! Traduje tu comentario al inglés usando Google. Estoy aprendiendo español pero muy lentamente, así que estoy usando el traductor de Google para responder. :-) ¡Gracias de nuevo!

      Comment translation: (Great info so I had to be sure everyone could understand!)
      This comment in English:
      Hello. There are currently many ways to update but without a doubt there are always people who find a way to ruin it 😂. Personally I do it in the following way: 1-Backup the contents of the micro-SD. 2-I download the update to the computer and leave it ready to copy. 3-I remove the micro-SD from the radio, place it in the computer and copy the update to the folder called Firmware. 4-I place the micro-SD back into the radio, turn on bootloader mode and select the file. 5-With the update complete, step with the radio to review the contents of the micro-SD in the menu, to enter the firmware folder and select the update file to also update the bootloader. Ready... this way it's updated almost foolproof 😂. Notes: 1-You should only copy the content of the micro-SD if you come from a different version, for example, if you are using 2.9.0 and you are going to update to 2.9.4, you do not have to copy the content again. the micro-SD. On the contrary, if you are using 2.7.0 and are going to update to 2.8.4, you should do this step. 2-On the other hand, there are micro-SD files that must be copied to the new update, as is the case if you already had airplane models created, because if you want to keep them, you must copy these folders and thus all the configuration is preserved of the planes that you already had created, here it also applies to the audios and photos that you already had such as those on the home screen. 3-It is not necessary to have all files from past updates in the firmware folder like in your case because then we have less space on the micro-SD and the radio can become slow. Greetings from Cuba 🇨🇺. Keep up the videos, it's always good to have information like this.
      My response:
      Thank you so much my friend! I truly appreciate your thoughts and suggestions! I was thinking that I need to determine what info is needed on the SD Card and what is not! Thanks again!
