Speed run challenge huh, I'm in ! Any specific qualifications? I'm gonna run my DeeRC 210e and 1215. Staying tuned for more results, keep up the great videos!! I also just got those tires in red for my 210e, lots of grip!
Well, I'm glad you're interested, but it's not my challenge. It is actually the @barganbasherrc speed run challenge. I believe it's about to end now. But if you have completed a run, be sure to go over to his channel and send him an email with a link to the run before it's over. This was my last run for the challenge.
My and you are going to be best friends i just got into rc and have this exact car
Very cool I look forward to seeing what you can do with it!
The drive train on mine did not survive brushless 3S. from wheel bearings disintegrating, diff drive cups breaking, to wheel axles snapping, i've seen it all! Awesome learning experience nonetheless and a great entry in to the hobby for little money.
I agree that the parts on this car are not made for speed. I have a bunch of play in the front wheels. But I do plan to spend some time trying to find upgraded parts over time. I would love to turn this car into an absolute sleeper. thanks for stopping by!
@AlToneRC i have gutted mine and now it sleeps waiting for a crazy idea!
Speed run = slower than top brands out the box.... yikes.
Not everyone can afford top brands and some are given as gifts. These less expensive RC Cars are a great way to see if you're really interested in the hobby. So no matter how you get this vehicle it can be upgraded not to mention, it is a great learning experience. Teaches so much about electronics, troubleshooting, and even some mechanical skills. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and thanks for watching! 🙂
@@AlToneRC I second that, Al!
What brushed motor is that they smoked up? I’m worried I have that same motor that I was going to put in my 9201e
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09NBW9HV1 It Was this one. I will say that it may be a defective one but the common denominator with the frying of my 2 ESCs was this motor. After changing out the motor in my Tamyia MF-01x. I had no more problems.
Very helpful. Thank you Al.
Nice video, pretty cool! I thought about getting into RC cars before but didn’t know which one to start out with.
That would be cool I would love to see what you can do. This one was surprisingly easy to upgrade, But I have to say I love your plane builds! 😊
Nice run it probably has more in it with a few adjustments
Absolutely I'm blown away by how easy it was to upgrade. I can't believe the performance. Ready to see what happens after adding a wheelie bar!
Wow! Great entry, 46mph is awesome!! I can imagine with a wheelie bar and better shocks maybe tires you can get it above 50. I did not know the 210 servo’s are 3 wire servo’s. Thanks for calling that out because I might need to get one for mine when I go to brushless. I don’t know of a pinion gear upgrade but goolrc sells one Amazon that is not a pressed on pinion. It’s 22tooth 48 pitch depth so you might be able to go up to like 24,25 maybe 26 if you stick with 48 pitch but I have experimented with that so idk for sure.
Thanks so much and thanks for the I do as well!
That thing fly's ! Do you want to upgrade mine ??
LOL Well I dont mind helping. :-)
@AlToneRC 👌👍
This will be my next DeeRC to upgrade... currently working on 210e with a 2260kv out of 1/8 and 150amp HobbyWing, it is QUICK! I added a Team Associated wheelie bar, much needed! Can't wait for the next vid
Which Wheelie bar is it.. I believe this guys is really going to need it! its too light.. hard to keep the wheels on the ground. I will share my latest speed run on Saterday! .
@@AlToneRC Amazon - Team Associated Wheelie Bar: Rival MT10, ASC25837... also some 1/4 & 0.25oz stick on wheel weights help a lot keeping front end down
@@ofromda860 Thanks so much!
Check your title. Cool car
lol. Thanks!
Well that was impressive but that smoke 💨 coming out looks scary. I’m glad you didn’t burn the car down
Thanks man. I thought it was worse than it was any turned off the camera without thinking. But now I have it set with brushless and ready to go. BTW I keep missing your lives but I’m sure I will catch you some time! But I try to catch the replay👍🏾
So this are not plug & play?
Plug and play or PNP refers to the aircraft and not the receiver. The receiver must be bound to your radio. The firmware update is not an absolute requirement but this video is about doing so if you want or find you need too.
@AlToneRC do you have a video on how to bind this to the tx16s? Right now its on multi, i have spektrum & flysky reciver binded to the radio, but cant seem to get the er8 to bind to my radio
@ This is an ELRS receiver, multi protocol radios will not bind with it without a ELRS Module. The binding I do is during the Flash is using a pass phrase to bind. All of my aircraft currently use the same pass phrase. Setting it is a step in the firmware flashing process which I show in this video.
@@AlToneRC oh ok i.switched it to multi, it was on crsf. Ill return it & just buy flysky or spektrum. Thank you
@@Mroswaldo16no problem glad to help! BTW ELRS uses the CRSF function in the radio however you still will need a ELRS module on a multi protocol radio to bind it.
As a newbie to ELRS and first time messing with it on the TX16S you left out a really basic and important step for a new out of the box radio. Make sure the new radio has CRSF enabled on the internal module in settings and CRSF selected for the active model. Or it will fail every time. This might sound like "derp you should know that" but... yeah. I did figure it out but would have been nice to know in advance.
I understand your point however, this video is on upgrading the radio, not an unboxing and initial setup. I have covered this in a different video. This video assumes that you have already been using this radio with your models but not yet updated to the latest version. If CRSF is not selected it would not be working well before deciding to update. I would not suggest updating the firmware prior to insuring your radio is working properly by setting up and testing first with a model. Thanks fo your input.
Responded from my other channel. Again! if you just pulled your radio out of the box, you should be ensuring it works prior to upgrading EdgeTX or the internal ELRS Module.
How thick is that foam?
Standard 5mm foam board thickness. It's basically the same Addams Readyboard that can be found in Dollartree. The difference is that they have made this foam more water-resistant.
👏👏👏
I just bought the same radio with internal expressLRS but I don’t know which pmw or other receiver i pickup for it! If you help i will appreciate it.
Any ELRS receiver should bind with this radio. Thanks for watching!
I have radiomaster tx16s markii internal elrs, Is this er6 receiver work for it?
Yes. the ER6 and ER8 are both ELRS recievers, you can't go wrong with either of them. You can also use other brands ELRS receivers as well. Just be sure it is an ELRS receiver that you purchase and you should be good.
Thanks
This plane looks 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much!
Hi thanks for your video, it’s very helpful. Can you please Tell me how to set red color on your Edge TX symbol in red on your radio? Thanks in advance
You can change the radio settings as far as color in the radio themes menu. Im using a specific theme and I have gone in an customized a few colors to my liking. Just be sure as you do, you are still able to read all of the text as well.

@@muatazfalih3041 so glad to help!
I am in the process of setting up my NEW Tx16s Radiomaster, and I came across a short video discussing the antenna *from another youtuber) Would you please clarify or confirm what configuration should the antenna be when flying? Straight up or to the side, Thank you and PS, since this radio is brand new is it necessary to update or upload anything at this time?
The antenna placement will depend. On the orientation of the antenna as it sits in the plane. Most cases it should be vertical because in most cases your antennas in the aircraft will be vertical to 45 degrees. Or if you have diversity antennas in the plane they should be horizontal and the other vertical or both 45 Degrees in opposite directions. It also depends on what type of flying you’re doing. Try to keep both antennas in the same orientation either way for the majority of your time in the air. ELRS is a great protocol so unless your going long distance it may not even matter. Hope this helps.
@@AlToneRC I’m coming from flysky ia-6 radio ia-6b receivers. They worked great very simple no issues with range So I’m a little nervous now about the antenna with the tx16. Hopefully it won’t be an issue. I’m using 4-1
@@flyjets305 I understand. The info I provided is true also for the 4n1 and any receiver. That rule will be the same no matter what setup you are running. Place the antenna in the aircraft vertical and also place the antenna in your radio vertical. You can also set up the radio to provide you with signal strength information right on the screen and announce it. That is what I do even for ELRS. From there you can test your signal with the plane sitting on the ground with different antenna placement to see what works best. Radiometer is a great brand and I totally trust them with all of my planes.
Just purchased a byme A gyro, presumably you'll be using one too. So looking forward to your views
Thanks so much!
Is Aerofly rc10 pretty accurate to real life flying and planes? Comparing Aerofly with RealFlight and Phoenix. Looking for a sim with the most accurate physics.
I do love this one. I’m now practicing more maneuvers. It really helps!
Good Luck with your future Deerc runs and Digging the new name. The best youtube channels are fueled with passion.
Come check me out @AlToneTech as well for RTR RC Products.
under model setup internal RF what mode do i chose? i can't find expresslrs there
You use CRSF. It uses the Crossfire protocol selection for ELRS.
Responded from my other Channel by mistake :-) but CRSF like I said. :-). Hope this helps.
Is there anybody who provides file you can load to your radio for specific models set up. For example if I buy a X-fly Glaster I just down load the file to my radio and just bind and fly .
Every now and them someone will make their model files available for drones and other aircraft, however most do not because there are specifics as to how they want their radio to function. I would say set up the plane on the bench and take time once to insure that it functions the way you would like. Use a basic plane with only Alierons, Elevator, throttle, and Rudder. Then when you purchase a new plane you can copy that model change the name and bind it with the new receiver, Then you only have to make small adjustments to the radio to make the plane fly well if any and add any functionality like flaps an retractable landing gear. Hope this helps.
What controller are you using? I'm using Interlink dx and can't figure out the trim buttons.
Im using my old Jumper T18. You just have to play with the trim to see if it does what you want. I need to do more testing with the EXPO myself. As long as you calibrate your sticks to the Sim you should not have to worry about trim. The aircraft will fly straight but you might want or need expo to help you control the model better depending on the model in the sim. Im not sure how that will effect the specific model you're flying in the sim.
I bought the same brushless motor, I was trying to find out which ESC I must use. I look over the internet I found that I should use a 50A Esc because some website show the same motor as a max amp of 45.8. When i saw your first video I was almost relieved to know that I could run it with my 30a esc already bought, just like you😃 but that was until i watched this video now. I guess we should go for an 50a esc indeed.
Sorry for the late reply but It is possible that I need to work out the timing. I may have messed up the timing when calibrating my ESCs .. I know have a programing card and plan to be sure that it fixes the issue. I did try a larger 40Amp esc but seemed to have the same issue. More to come on this. I hope to be able to share more on it very soon.
thank you! now I can update my Expresslrs!
Awesome!
you can use the serial bus (CRSF) on your er6 to connect the A3. Then your 6 pwm ports on the er6 free.
That is also my plan. How is your experience with that setup so far ?
That Is what I understand. I could not initially get it to work but I have not had time to revisit it. Thanks
I have enjoyed having the stabilization in the plane. Ive been too busy to do additional testing and flights but hope to do so very soon.
Did you lower the body mounts as much as possible? Also remove the wing.
No I didnt, thanks!

Great Radio!
Yea man. I Love it.. so many functions for racing.
EdgeTX companion crashes on my system. Is there a way I can do the same updation of TX16S firmware using opentx companion?
No I do not think that would work. it could brick your radio.
Well I was able to assert the you meant that we copy the firmware file to the firmware folder on the radio. I followed all steps exactly and now my radio is stuck at the splash screen. Nice. I can't even turn it off
DUDE!! You said to find the correct firmware file for the radio but didn't even say what to do with it.
Use a merge program like WinMerge or Beyond Compare rather than os copy merge process
