F2 Spain 2024: Hauger makes a rocket start, climbs 6 positions and causes the safety car

On Sunday 23 June 2024 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, 27 km from Barcelona, Paul Aron starts at the front and leads Crawford and Colapinto into the first corner; Saturday’s sprint race winner, Victor Martins, tangles with Dennis Hauger at turn 2 and causes the safety car to be called into early action, as he climbs across the Turn 2 kerbs and bounces his MP Motorsport car into the side of Victor Martins’ ART. Unlike the 2022 calamity, organisation at this grand prix weekend was exemplary - everything, from smoothly operating buses through fans blowing cool air to no stowaway people at grandstands (unlike at the 2022 grand prix) was spot on. I hope this race stays on the calendar. Eviva España!
