IDAHO FALLS - Idaho's oldest drive-in theater is holding a free movie night this weekend to celebrate the end of the season.
Motor Vu Drive-in at 2095 North Yellowstone Highway in Idaho Falls will be showing "Jumanji" on Saturday, Aug. 24. The 1995 film stars Robin Williams and Bonnie Hunt and will start around 8:45 p.m.
"We wanted to hold a community-wide event that celebrates our long history in this town we love. We hope people will enjoy our final movie of the season," Motor Vu Co-director Brett Harris says in a news release.
Co-director Jennifer Spalding tells EastIdahoNews.com she's excited for people to see Robin Williams on the 10th anniversary of his death on the theater's 4K RGB laser projector.
"We've never shown it on our screen and we thought it would look epic on our huge screen," Spalding says.
At more than 6,400-square-feet, the screen at Motor Vu is the biggest operating outdoor movie screen in the country, according to a news release.

So lucky you still have a drive-in theater. Great memories!
This will probably be the coolest video I watch today!!
It's like taking a step back in time. I love it!!
I miss having a drive in. The one where I live closed years ago. You're lucky to still have one.
Right on girl! History is EVERYTHING. Thanks for keeping this sliver of it alive. Absorb all of it for future generations to enjoy. Write a book! An actual paper filled book!
Cool beans. Thank you.
Sorry to distract, but I like the Big Boy statue. It brings back memories of the Big Boy restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Awesome. I do remember going to these as a kid and as a young adult in the 70
Not sure if any at all left in Alberta Canada
Thanks for the memories
Most of the drive-in movie 🎦 theaters are all gone in Ontario, Canada. I remember the drive-in that was next door to the race track. We use to walk the horse 🐴 after the race along the fence line watching the movie at the same time. We use to have so much fun going to the drive-in, some would hide in the trunk, and would get out, and sit on the gravel mounds eating popcorn 🍿, and drinking sodas 🥤. Have a great day my friend ❤️🙂⚘️.
Loved to go to the drive in.
I actually saw a video on RUclips or someplace...oh man years ago now and no clue who or where (I guess I could search it) but someone bought an old drive-in CHEAP basically paid for the land and actually turned the screen area like you were showing into their house! It was pretty cool and and they had an awesome yard with a massive pool and a section that was used like an Airbnb with 6 guest rooms complete with balcony's. All focused around families. There is more room in those screens than it looks. The screen side stayed the same and I believe they rented it out and showed movies for special events and private parties. Very cool! Now I need to go search RUclips...LOL!
Back in college I went to a drive-in with my girlfriend. Can't remember what movie it was. 😉
Fun to watch but I gotta say the popcorn I got at the last movie was absolutely awful, full of kernels and smoked like it was over cooked.
