Its no secret that rent prices are high in New York, but I could not BELIEVE how crazy wild they really are. In this video I react to real apartments for rent in NYC at the USD 3k price range, and compare them to what you can get for the same amount in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Spoiler: the comparison is CRAZY!
DONT FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE!
Manhattan prices have come to the boroughs...crazyyyy!!
The comparison is unbelievable. I already know that of course. This should open a lot of eyes Sis.
Whenever I hear about the sky-high prices of real estate and rentals in New York City, it reminds me of the movie “Election” starring Reese Witherspoon. In the film’s finale, Matthew Broderick’s character relocates to NYC and ends up paying an absurdly steep price for a rather shabby apartment.
Never seen that movie but it sounds accurate to real life
more like 4500 a month for a closet with a pullout bed that is insane!
Those lofts are super expensive, and many rich hipsters live in them. The brownstone is very expensive.
Even the regular apartments in Brooklyn and the Bronx are very expensive. I'm from NY but moved away. It is better to get a larger apartment or invest in a home in more affordable parts of the US.
I dont think I would EVER EVER live in NYC, especially in those tiny little things they call apartments
I live in the Bronx psying $2,500 for the 2 bedrooms in an area that is not the best. For that price in DR you could a really high class apartment wit a doorman.
For that price you can live like a KING in Santo Domingo
Very interesting video. Well, as you said, it all depends on wages and employment. Somebody who earns 500 grand a year can easily afford 5 grand a month for a more comfortable apartment. For the same you can have a really luxury apartment in SD and additionally a weekend apartment i.e. in LT. So, the best situation is not needing to stay in places like Manhattan for work but still have the funds, the Dominican combination sounds more interesting. By the way, your hair looks beautiful.
very true! also reading articles on this Phenomenon, the fact is NY apartments are in EXTREMELY high demand, so that drives the prices UP.
Thanks for watching, and for the Hair compliment!☺
An averall rent in dominican republic is best option compared to an overal rent in ny.
In dominican republic for about US 1000 you can rent a very spacious ap in the bussines center of santo domingo city. In touristics zones and beach zones and colonial zone you can obtain good offerts too. Thats so beautiful places, more beautiful than NY. For living as a king in dominican republic the only need is money. And not a massive amount,
starting fom about an income of US 2500 you can live a very good life in santo domingo.
The problem is the dembow population, with very bizzarre and dangerous behaviors,
and the other problem is you need you money income from outside of the country,
because in dominican republic is really dificult obtaing a good job. Not impossible, but dificult. If you have childs, give them Homeschooling education, because the education in dominican republic is pure garbage, and if you want private education you loss all of you money in high pays for private college.
There are plenty of affordable private school options. The most expensive ones are the Bilingual schools, those are TOP TIER!
I agree for the most part with your comment, and yes private schools are expensive in DR, but overall it's better life if you can afford it in DR, hands down.
New York is messed up right now in some parts
I would say most of the residential areas are compromised by politics and bad policies against criminals. Unless you are way out there in long island, anything goes.
It's like that everywhere, Miami, LA , Toronto , San Francisco, London............. I stayed for 6 months in SD and I loved it. But, it is not the same, apples with apples, oranges with oranges. You have to compare SD with San Juan or Cartagena.
You're right
NYC rent prices are ridiculous, super high crime and it's dirty. The middle class is basically screwed here.
Youre exactly right.
jajaj in Kansas we pay $1,100 for a big ass 2 bedroom apt.. screw liberal NEw York
Thats more like it Kansas!
@@PurelyWalking yeah you guys should move down here I'll show you around.. Eto e otro mundo ^
Question? How much would it cost someone who moves to the DR to play golf? Can you move there and stay for like 10yrs? Me and my wife want to visit and possibly retire there. Could we live comfortably on $8000.00 a month? We are planning our first trip and would love to talk to you.
You can live like a KING for 8k per month anywhere in the DR! You can stay for however long you want! I would love to give you any info I can, please write to my DM on Instagram (my username is the same, Purelywalking) , or you can email me at purelywalking@gmail.com
You look very different without your glasses. Kool
Ok, so since you're comparing. The median income in DR 10,000-35,000 pesos/mth would make average salary around 22,000, a little under $400us. Given the same ratio your DR apartment should be less than $300/mth., a general doctor in DR can't afford those apartments that's for the 1% in DR. That's equivalent to paying $40k/mth for an apartments in NY. Well if you can work remotely and still earn that $5,200/mth. Your 👑
Every liberal city. 😂
😅🤣true
Let alone the homeless population and ramping crimes.
Rents are out of control in NY. To make matters even worst, the streets are lined up with an aggressive homeless population and criminals in every corner of the public space. No thank you!
Agreed! NO thank you
I had the impression you lived in NYC before. Your english was noi learned in DR? you have no accent.
I lived previously in the USA but not in the State of NY
👎🏻🤐 I have been there and lost my money, I tried to withdraw my money and still today I cannot get my money back. Good luck to you.
Bidenomics...
""Yeah how sweet"" but with all your respect..you that live there in Santo domingo ..can you afford those places with your salary as a RUclipsr in general or as a plumber 🪠?? .. didn't think so (my opinion) don't get mad honey!❤
Wages are different in each country which I talked about in the video. I also put into perspective the median income in NYC versus those incredible prices for rent....watch towards the end of the video.
Here in DR, paying 3k for rent is LUXURY living, as I stated (not for lower or middle class people).
Well fact.. Nyc it is the Capital of the globe 🌎 and the reason the rent is so expensive 🫰🏻 for the past 15 or more years : it calls "new York people recycling" meaning if you are poor or low class new York system is going to push you out ! . @purelywalking I recommend you that come here to Columbus, Ohio and record ⏺️ the same "show" and let's see what's up ❤
